I'm all in on the PENTAX 77mm lens, It is a fantastic (limited) prime lens. The last thing you want to do, in the photography hobby, is to go cheap on the glass you buy. The pentax prime "limited" lenses are the greatest thing since sliced bread. Don't buy anything until you can buy GREAT GLASS... Bye-the-way, your new K-1 isn't too shabby either. Good move, but Don't get cheap glass, I'm just sayin'''. Rjm

I will take a look at that site. Thanks. Cameras: Pentax K-01, Pentax K-S2, Pentax K-5 & Pentax K-1. I also have a Nikon P-900 and a Canon Digital Elph Sd 940. And until now, I've done JUST jpeg. Shot some RAW with the K-1 while in South Africa first two weeks in December. That's why I'm looking to "kick-it-up-a-notch, with post processing. I love to shoot all kinds of stuff from flowers to horses, elephants to birds, and I really get some great stuff, If I do say so myself. It's a great hobby. Happy New Year. RJM

Maybe I would just do better to be satisfied using that which is part of my MAC desk-top computer?? I might be hoping for too much to think I could twerk my pics a little better with some "Beyond-ME"program. I was just hoping for something simple, but capable. Thanks for your reply. RJM

Pentax 60-250mm lens, focusing issues

Bought a brand new 60-250mm lens from Adorama ( I think). Maybe B&H. The focusing always seemed imperfect, but I wasn't sure. I thought it might just be THAT camera, or maybe "low battery". That was on my K-01. ???? Then I bought a K-5, and the lens function was still QUESTIONABLE. Then I bought a K-S2 and that lens seemed incompatible with it too. I now own a Brand-new super PENTAX K-1, and love it dearly..... The 60-250mm Pentax lens does Not focus well even with the K-1. And I feel at wits end because, these particular focal lengths are exactly the parameters I need. I'm now on vacation in South Africa, and am sick about Not having use of my Other-wise great Telephoto lens. Please let me know what possible recourse I may have as regards this PROBLEM.. I have since heard that focusing issues and motor drive issues have been COMMON. Manually, it's a fabulous lens, but Manully focusing is sometimes a real INCONVENIANCE. I live in Michigan, and all of my Pentax purchases have been "mail-order" either B&H or Adorama. Please Advise. Thank you, in advance. RJM

I think that the K-S2 is a fine camera. And I like the articulated screen. My version has black body orange bottom,If it weren't my fourth recent Pentax body, it would be a great "second body"..I'm not sure about the lens you mentioned, when I bought mine, I got the 18-135mm lens with it. I'm happy with the lens too. RJM

The k-3 deal you mentioned for $600.00 might be a very good deal. It is surely a body I would recommend. Just a great camera. I wasn't advising that you wait for and get the new K-70, there is no bargain in that. BUT!! I do think that the price of a k-3 could be a little less in the next few weeks, due to the "New-Model- Release.Other than the K-S1, I believe all of Pentax from & including the K-5 on til now, are absolutely FINE TOOLS. And you should learn to shoot them in MANUAL mode with your old lenses from the start.... Then, very selectively, get full auto and primes AdNauseum.K-5 is good K-5II is better(slightly) K-3 is really good, K-3II is slightly Better... There are 4 camera models that are all Simply terriffic. K-1.....is a differant beast altogether. Keep your stick on the ice, shoot often, we're all in this together ,,we are all rooten for ya. K-5 to K-3II, ya can't go wrong. Let us know what you do. RJM
