I have a K10D and I had KatzEye in it in the last four years. I installed this EE-S screen a few months ago, and I must say that this simple screen is MUCH better than the KatzEye with optibrite and split prism. And much cheaper too (if you buy the original EE-S screen and cut it down by yourself).

What does your photo storage folder list look like?

Because I don't like wasting storage space, my folder list looks like this:

2011
-- 01 - January
------ 02 - Event (RAW files + .ini files from PDCU4 + .dop files from DxO)
------ 13 - Event (RAW files + .ini files from PDCU4 + .dop files from DxO)
-- 02 - February
------ 14 - Event (RAW files + .ini files from PDCU4 + .dop files from DxO)
------ 27 - Event (RAW files + .ini files from PDCU4 + .dop files from DxO)

2012
-- 04 - April
------ 18 - Event (RAW files + .ini files from PDCU4 + .dop files from DxO)
------ 23 - Event (RAW files + .ini files from PDCU4 + .dop files from DxO)
------ 29 - Event (RAW files + .ini files from PDCU4 + .dop files from DxO)
-- 05 - May
------ 01 - Event (RAW files + .ini files from PDCU4 + .dop files from DxO)

etc...

My RAW files from my K10D are usually 8-12 MB large, and the sidecar files from the post-processing programs are usually 1-6 KB. When I need some pictures in jpeg I post-process the RAWs with PDCU4 or DxO using the sidecar files next to the RAW files. This way I don't waste storage space with 4-6 MB jpegs... :)

And I use exiftool to rename the RAWs according to the shutter count, so my filenames contain 5 digits (e.g. IMGP18020) because my shutter count are about 18000.

Saving Edits With Photo DCU 4.33?

You, can save the parameter file, but you have to save it manually all the time after you edited your photos. After you edited your picture go to File -> Save Parameter -> navigate to the location of the picture then type the name of the picture (e.g. IMGP3056) -> press Save. The program will create a file called IMGP3056.ini. This .ini file contains the parameters of that picture.

I think you don't need white or gray objects on the picture. Just click on the "Advanced settings" text on the "RAW white balance" window and pull the color temperature slider to the right so the colors of your picture will be warmer and the blueish cast will vanish.

If your picture is still blueish, you can use the HSL section. Choose "Blues" from the drop down menu than decrease the saturation of the blue channel.

Are you looking for the white balance section? Click on the upper right corner and change from "DxO - First Steps" to "DxO - Advanced user".

UPDATE

First of all, sorry for my bad English. :)
Secondly, if you like the Pentax-like colours and tones from PDCU 4, but you hate the noise reduction and the not too user-friendly GUI and speed of this program you would like this "news".
The last 2 days I downloaded and tried the free trial version of DxO Optics Pro 6.5.2 and the results I got from this application are beyond my best expectations. It looks like I've found the appropriate replacement of PDCU 4.
When I look at the output pictures from DXO, the colours and tones are almost perfectly like the ones from the Silkypix based Pentax application. It's 99% of the same. The real surprises come when you look the pictures at 100% magnification. The sharpening and noise reduction are amazing. No halos, no artefacts. I have never seen anything like this.
And of course, the GUI is much more logical and user-friendly. The program reacts faster pulling the sliders on my old machine, though, it's not faster than LR3, I think. There is one thing which is waaay slower than PDCU 4 or LR3: the final rendering.
This application gives new life to my old K10D and it squeezing the maximum from the old sensor.
Give it a try, you won't regret.

Same here. I like the output from PDCU 4, but I prefer the speed, interface and noise reduction of Lightroom and some other RAW converters. I also spent hours and hours to get the Pentax-like colours and tones from other applications with no luck so far. :(

LR 3 is a great program, but I prefer the colours which I get from the PDCU 4. Especially the skin colour. For me, the skin colour looks more natural and much more pleasant when I develop the pictures with PDCU 4. However, the noise reduction of LR 3 is far more superior.
