While I own legal copy of LR5, i still made my way to Darktable...It's rather painful with import, but overall, I am more than happy with transition.

K-S2 wireless flash mode

Well, went bit around and seems like that if you insist on p-ttl, your cheapest bet (if new is only option) is AF201 flash, which is small, tilts, stronger than pop-up and I remember members being blown on anouncement by it;s p-ttl compatibility at this price range. Truth to be said here, you might even won't be losing so much, since wireless triggering with pop-up is such a pita.Tried with both K-x and K-3, and it would fail to trigger way too often. External flash is MUCH stronger, giving you much more reliability.

passtru here means that you can put V6 between camera body and hot shoe mounted flash, and it won't obstruct communication between those two, acting like it isn't there, letting you use both on'board ttl flash and radio triggered external flashes in the same time. No cactus transfers ttl signal wirelessly.

K5 presets for Lightroom

I was hoping I'll be able to find equivalent of LR profiles/presets, which could more or less truly reflect image I see on lcd on the camera. I can imagine it sounds rather pathetic, esp. since I am shooting RAW, but sometimes what I see on the display is exactly what I like...but than I have to spend 20 mins on cpu trying to recreate look in PP :(. Even direct conversion in camera aint doing so good job.

Another time I've got confused by cactus, apparently, when I read that they can control flashes thru Lo power mode, which indeed sounds like it is manipulating thru power output (centre pin). I am trying to see there what there isn't. But note taken. How about old 3pin pentax flashes, they should be controlable to some extend...

I thought they're available only for Canon or Nikon. Missing out something?

than it is a no no than, cos although I have af540-1, I intended to use it on flashes from mid-80ties as well. Btw, is there any alternative to v6- rf60 combo i should be aware of? Something that can control power wirelessly.

yes, but than if i can only fire old flashes, I'll be probably just as good off with v5, which can be triggered by v6..they would just always fire on total manual, if I understand correctly...anyway, my confusion comes from their statement, that v6 can learn almost any given flash. However, if your experience says otherwise, I'll take your word for it.

Hi there, I have another cactus v6 question. By now it is my understanding, that you can use this triggers even with fairly neolitic flashguns, like Af240Z, and still be able to control power wirelessly (correct me, if I am wrong, please). But how about even simplier flashes, like those old one-pin flashes with their own photocell on board, and setting M/red/blue (Tristar 300AZ being on my disposal, for ex.). Since right now I am on bring of buying either some v6s, shall it work this way, and utilizing some ancient flashes and saving some cash as oposed to buying one v6 and than some RF60s to "be the light". I am not concerned by guide numbers or recharge time, here I am simply on about possibility of adjusting relative light ratio on the go. Thanks in advance.

My fiance gave me a voucher for "Pro photo session" with some local photo hot-shot, believing that's what I want, since I am never on our pictures. Guess I'll just get myself a tripod before she'll get some other idea.....

I guess you are right. Or as Pentax says, it was meant to fire in P-TTL in multiple-flash mode :(

I've done test at 0.3" and still no show. It looks like pentax fires on preflash, before shutter opens.

I am rather confident about them firing/not firing, since i've set exposure right about where you have suggested on the first set of pics already (and kept there), and I've flash lowered output low enough to see individual flash heads when they fire. plus I was taking pictures of actual flash heads, any contribution would show up there. As for zoom, both were at their widest setting. And thanks for clarifying that menu for us :)

I went through few possibilities, and made a pictures, but than I realized all looks the same, Metz contributing, Pentax not. So first, Pentax set on SL1, manual, Metz in Servo. Built-in flash set on control. Both flashes fire up, but only Metz contributes to picture. Than I switched built-in to Master, rest unchanged. Metz fires and contributes, Pentax misses completely. Than I went to Slave mode in Metz, Pentax untouched. Same story, both in master and control.
Well, now I am going to try to work out what does rest of settings in SL1/2 menu , namely PH anPP do.

I think I caught a trail of something here. I followed steps from Oldbayrunner, and both flashes fired up!.....on pre-flash :( None was seen on picture. My build-in flash is still set as controller, since i don't want it to contribute to exposure. Than I changed build in to master, and decided to bite the bullet by directly observing flashes. Both fires up, but only light from metz is seen on picture, pentax fires on preflash. And i have two holes burned into my retina. Is there any preflash-suppression setting in pentax? And since I am feeling adventurous today, I ventured into uncharted waters by switching Metz to servo, since I wasn't sure, whenever Slave simply isn't P-ttl, non-manual system. Made no difference....

How's than possible that i can fire Pentax alone with built-in flash in manual mode? Seem like instructions are losing it here a bit....

No. To avoid further confusion, here is the photodocumentation: The picture 1 is Pentax set to P-ttl, metz as slave. Both fire. Attachment 250033
So far so good. Picture 2 is Metz still as slave, Pentax on manual. Pentax misses this round. Attachment 250034
Picture 3 is Pentax on manual, exactly as previous, untouched, but Metz is switched off. Pentax fires. Attachment 250035
I read somewhere in previous comments, that Pentax uses always P-ttl with multiple wireless flashes, but failed to find this info in my booklet. Can somebody confirm this for me?

Hi, nice to see somebody from Slovakia again. I've got my K-3 fairly recently, and truth to be said, since I was buying in bundle, it was cheaper to take it from B&H, even shipping and taxes taken into account.

Hi guys, I am seeking an advice about how to achieve close-to-life skin tones. Seems like every time I send picture thru Lightroom, I get either graveyard special grey, or almost cartoon-like skin shades, like here. This might be really long shot, but anyway, which slider would you touch to get it close to life?

Sorry, been off for weekend....
If 540 is set to SL2, neither of them would fire at manual setting, with on-board flash as controller. With SL1, at least Metz would fire while in manual...well, I guess I have to toss a towel into the ring and get myself some radio triggers, and learn to live with P-TTL until than. Thanks for input.
