Besides the obvious, FA31MM Limited,

What other top performers work with the IIs?

Not sure what is better the 70mm DA limited or the 77mm FA Limited,

I live at F5,6-F8

Thanks

I am in the market for a new backpack for my 645d, 35mm A, 45-85mm fa, 120mm fa, 200mm fa, and 300mm F4 fa lenses, I would prefer to stay away from tamrac and lowepro because they say "steal me"
Any suggestions?

White balance is tricky on the 645D

I think the 645d likes grey for setting custom WB as opposed the the expodisc which is white.
This maybe your issue.
You may want to call Pentax to verify

55mm lens comparison on 645D

Thomas,
Yep, Sounds like the 67 Zoom is a winner and huge, I was hoping that it could replace my 45-85 FA,
yet I really like shooting at 45mm and there is no replacement for that 45mm lens. The FA45 is not good, I even tried the 67 45mm, that also was not good. I guess after looking at the comparisons done at 55mm the FA 45-85mm zoom is really not that bad, and the size it right.

On another note, I am still debating on whether to try the 150-300mm FA zoom. I own the 150, 200, and 300mm 5.6 FA primes now, lots to lug around, and since I am a "F11" kind of guy, I may give it a go.

55mm lens comparison on 645D

Well for FA lenses yes an excellent feature to have, but on MF lenses the adjustment does not work so for me I guess checking into the 67 55-100mm is out of the question. Accurate focus on a matt screen for me is almost impossible and I doubt even if I sent in my body to pentax they could adjust the focusing screen. A hit and miss proposition. The 645d like 99% off all modern digital cameras are meant to be used primarily in AF, hense the reason you hardly see from any manufacture an optional split prism micro focussing screens.

Oh well

Does'the 55-100 67 zoom lens when used with the 645d does focus confirmation work?
Is it accurate or you have to focus as best as you can with your eye

FA 35mm F3.5 test with 645d

Iv'e tried two of them, got rid of both of them.
I don't think they perform well as a landscape lens when shooting at or near infinity, even at F13,
My yosemite trip confirmed my findings. Just not sharp across the entire frame, forget about the distortion issue, that is fixed in LR3 with the included profile. But it can't fix softness in corners and I mean not just edges but it going soft 1/6th into both sides of the frame so I ended up with a 2/3rd's sharp image in the center area only.
I have yet to see a sample of this lens shoot at infinity where the image is sharp across the whole frame.

For short distance work, the lens performs much better, but for taking pictures lets say at tunnel view in yosemite? even at f16 forget about it. Not happening.

My next test will be the Hasselblad 40mm CFE lens via adaptor. I wish I could have access to there latest CFE IF lens, to expensive though for me.

Good luck on finding a good copy of a fa35 mm lens, I have tried two of them and sold them both.
My tunnel view shot with my last 35mm fa at f13 great in the center 2/3rds of the frame, the cornes not good.
To me the fa 35mm lensmis not a good landscape lens when shot at infinity.
Though I did not try the 1/3 foreground focus, I think the results would have been the same.
The 45-85mm performed much better for me at the tunnel view at f13

Tell me about how you did capture sharpening and how much?

Anyone using the af adjustment oh there 645d

I have been playing around with my fa lenses and using lens align trying to dial in front focus back focus issues with fa lenses
Overall my results have been all over the place, dependent on camera to subject distance and so on
Michale Tapes has recommended distances to use from his ruller on lens align to camera based on focal length and speed of lens, but his calculator is based on FF 35mm
Not sure that really matters.
I did a test the other day where i used my fa 120mm lens which according to the lens align test showed it needed no af adjustment, well at short distance images were in focus but at infinity the lens was back focusing.

So.. I was just curious if anyone else is using the the af adjustment and there experience

Wow, thanks everyone.
Yeah my first time there, I guess I got lucky.

Digitalis: I used my 45-85mm fa at 45-60mm at F11 I thought the lens performed very well.
ahw: Chains were required or 4x4 only.
hsteeves: Just using silver efex pro. Very easy to use.

Mostly B&W stuff, but I tossed in a few color images.

645d Len Correction

So then there is no reason to enable Lens Correction, It says in the manual it saves the info in the raw file but I assume only the pentax digital camera utility can read this?
I downloaded the latest version and it crashes a lot on my MacPro and it is so SLOW.

Does enabling the "Lens Correction" on my 645D do anything to DNG/PEF files?
Or is it just for shooting incamera jpegs?
