Staples has several Dell model laptops with Intel i5 processors. This will give you the capability to use many photography applications.
Be sure to get a model with 8GB of memory to insure proper operation of more demanding applications. I would suggest buying a laptop with a solid state drive (SSD). This will be a smaller capacity (128 GB or so), and purchase an external hard drive for backup (3 to 5 TB). The SSD drives are much more reliable and you will have ample storage externally.

Good luck,

I just purchased a Slik Pro 700DX. Three leg sections. Great height. I do not need to lean over to see through the viewfinder. Fairly heavy but very sturdy with lots of easy to use adjustments.

Thanks for the info. These tubes are not compatible with auto focus or exposure setting in the normal fashion. If I meter with an external meter, is there a formula to tell me what would be the correct settings ?

Thanks........ Charles1

I just bought a set of 3 extension tubes to use with my *ist ds. I am using a Tamron 75-300mm zoom. How do I determine correct exposure ? Can I use an external light meter and them use a formula to determine correct exposure ? I tried a few by trial and error and got some very good results, but would like a reliable way to determine correct settings......
Thanks... Charles1:rolleyes:

Photoshop question

I am using Photoshop Elements5. When I resize images for digital projection at the local camera club I am having mixed results. Most images work great when resized to 1024 x 768. However, if I make a significant crop of the original image and then resize it to 1024 x768 for the projector, it projects a very small image on the screen. What is the correct way to crop and resize and still have a good sized image to project ? Thanks ............... Chares1:

I own a Vivitar 285hv and a istD. The flash works great on the hot shoes. Since the istD does not have a pc sync connection how can I use the flash on a bracket attached to the camera ? I have seen various hot shoe connectors advertised. Which ones would work and can I use the pc cable that was supplied with the flash with them?
Thanks for any suggestions... Charles1
