Living a few hundred miles to the north and east of you and expecting a foot of snow tonight. I've been forced to temper my expectations for an early spring so I can bring my classic 83 Mustang Convertible out hybrination

Interesting seeing the tail of a DC3 and the 50's/60's era fighter/trainer jet Lockheed T-33. Both seem to be Museum pieces

In 2004 a major snow storm dumped 95 cm or 37" of snow on Halifax between Feb 17th & Feb 20th and was dubbed "White Juan"
I was in the Dominican Republic at the time arriving just after the storm passed and was greeted with my car buried in the Airport parking lot :(

The government spin on it is that it is a "Toll". that helps to subsidise the Government owned ferries and upkeep of the bridge The last time I was over there it was $44 for a Car (no charge for the Occupants):D
For Trucks I think they charge by the number of axles

Over here on the East Coast to take the short cut across the Bay of Fundy from Digby to Saint John the rates are about the same

I don't know what the rates are to PEI. I know there is no charge to get on the Island and you pay the same fare to get off the Island regardless if you use the ferry or the bridge

Going to Newfoundland the rate for anything over 60 ft is $975 and that doesn't include a cabin which is another $200 and meals. Plus the decks aren't as clean & smooth either with chains and tie downs everywhere

I know a few members of the local Mustang Club that would like a closer look

Should share the pic in the "Car Loving Pentaxians" Group

My Father-in-law drove a highway Snow plow for many years and he had his share of Tailgaters.
He always told me if you are following plow that you should stay back far enough to see his mirrors, then he can see you. He knows you are there if he has to stop suddenly and you wouldn't get hit by salt from the spreader. He also suggested using your 4 way flashers if you are 1st in line so the drivers behind you know what you are doing and not try and pass.

I'm sure with the proliferation of AWD SUV's there are even more idiots out there that think that they can pass the plow and drive summertime highway speeds in the snow because the ditches are full of them :lol:

I think the shot is a reflection of a street scene in a set of glass doors. The lettering on the building awning across the street behind the cars is mirrored and backwards while the lettering on the doors is correct

I know they used to use a crawler like that to bring rockets from the assembly building to the launch pad in Cape Canaveral
This one is a little small for that so I think it was used to carry pre-assembled modules for a ship or some other heavy equipment in a mine or tar sands

No not much running on my behalf. :)
The shot was done during a photo club field trip with one of the members walking toward camera with the light. The Bulb Mode timer in the K70 was a real plus for this type of shot

Yes it's a bit of a "Fix'er Up'er" but it looks like it may not have been sitting there for too long because the wood in the cradle isn't rotten.
I'm also surprised that the gas engine hadn't been replaced by small diesel engine. Boats like that with gas engines were notorious for catching fire and or blowing up.

I'm surprised that some Maritime Museum around Owen Sound hasn't tried to recover the boat because I'm pretty sure the yard that built it is long gone. It could make quite the "Make Work" Project for the cadets of the Marine School in Georgian College as well

The falling snow maybe hiding the mountain but the effect of the light from the fireworks and the moving cars more than makes up for it
