Great contrast on the leaves. I different effect, nice!

The shooter in the first image takes away from landscape, IMO. THe front rocks are too prominent, but the image works all the same.

NIcely done! I like the effect you did in editing. Turn off the date in the camera. If digital, the image is tagged with it anyway. You can even crop the bottom of the image to remove it and the image is still quite nice!

For $100 US, that is a nice chunk o change. Zeiss has always made good optics. Treat it nice and don't drop it!

If you can't afford the 24-70 and 70-200 for the K1 what would you get?

I have the Sigma 24-70 f2.8, macro version, a bit big (I don't mind this) but definitely a nice well built lens that gives great image quality. It is my general walkaround lens most of the time!

I kinda like this image! The play of light on the water is what is making it of course, but as you look at it, your mind really wanders!

This is a great venue to use again and again. For this image, I think you are too far away and there is too much confusion in the BG. Get in tighter, though with people strange to you I know this is not easy. There are a GREAT many opportunities for shots here!

Looking at the graphs D1N0 has for the Sigma and Pentax, they are very much equal, and both should render fine details quite well! Now let's see an 85mm equivalent!

Interesting image. I think a shift in the WB would be in order. If it was on Auto WB, the camera picked what it thought was correct, but the coldness of the tones do not add to the image. I suspect choosing a fluorescent would neutralize some of the green cast.

Action First attempt at smoothing the water

To smooth the water, get the shutter speed down to 1/4 to 1/2 second. You are 1/20th and the water is still not as smooth as you may have wanted. If it is a bright day you need to use ND filters. If you are close to optimum exposure without ND filters, a polarizer will cut a stop of light off.

Yes, crop the left, there is nothing helpful there. You may also want to bump the lightness up some. The image is dull and has no "snap", at least on my monitor. Nice bit of action going on.
