Your First Pentax

My first Pentax was the Program A (or super program as is called in USA) that I got used in 1998 in exchange of a Mamiya ZE. Is a very simple camera and I change it with a Z10 two year later. The Z10 was stolen in 2003 during a trip. Meantime in 2002 i bought a MZ-7 that I actually use and in 2006 a *istDS.

On dpreview there is a thread on the K10D with a jpg example at 1600 ISO:
K10D ISO 1600 example [big img] Image is better then 1000 words.: Pentax SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

The image has a very low noise and you have to consider the fact that is a Jpg very compressed. It's very near or even better than my DS at 3200 ISO

Here are some shots of the diffuser/bouncer mounted on a flash.

This is in "bouncer mode"

This is in "diffuser mode"

This is a shot of the side of the polythene sheet.

Sorry for the photos a bit dark but I've give my lamps to a friend and I cannot have them back before a week.
The sheet of polythene cost 1 and is about 16"x12" so i can use the remaing as diffuser for 2 halogen lamp. The hings cost 1,2 of 2. I use a small piece of metal strap to reinforce the bottom side of the diffuser. I work 15' to cut and assembly all the pieces togheter and I spend less than 3 incleded all the hardware.

Most prints in one time?

Hi Pat, my biggest order of digital prints is of about 185 photos for a total of 40€ (about 50$) included the shippemt. My biggest order in films print is of my honeymoon where I shot near 400 picture.
This is OT but I've make a rapid math and I found that prints in USA are very expensive: here in Italy I can make about 2200 prints 5"x7" or 3500 prints 6"x4" online for 370$ included all the shipment charge (and I can sent the picture on DVD not only online).

The diffuser is make with a piece of alveolar polythene sheet (is like the cardboard used for the box but is white) fixed to a small piece of plastic with a small metal hinge. Then with a rubber I can fix the diffuser on the flash. I can turn the diffuser over the flash or use it as small buoncer if I put it at about 45 or remove it totally if I bent it 180.
If you want I can post some photo of the diffuser.

Cork vs. Screw

Hi, I'm from the biggest wine producer italian province and here we drink only wine in corked bottles: this left the wine "breath" and so it could evolve in time. Screwed bottles are not very diffuse in Italy and normally are used for low quality wine.
Even the beers like the trappist ones or some ales are corked for the same motive.
My 2 cents.

cable remote for trap focus

Trap focus is a way to take a picture only when a subject came in focus. If you prefocus a doorway, for example, and then press full the shutter release the camera don't shot untill someone walk through the door and become in focus.
I hope to make the explain sufficently clear (english is not my natural language).

Do you have tried to set the camera in manual focus mode or to set the camera focus with the "ok" button instead of the shutter halfway pressed ? In that manners even if you press halfway the shutter button the focus don't change.
