HD FA 21 not on par with the other LTDs

I am extremly happy with my DFA 21/2.4 and I love it. I also have all three FA Ltds and tha A 20/2.8 and the M20/4. The new DFA 21/2.4 is a fantastic lens and much better than both old twenties and in my sight it is suits very well to the three amigos. Can not verify the problems of the thread opener. Mine is very sharp wide open, no matter if close focused or on infinity. The bokeh is outstanding and very near to the FA31 Ltd.

the SuperA or superProgramm for example does work with K-Mount lenses up to K-Mount 3 without aperture ring. Only electronic controlled aperture KAF-4 isn't possible, because of the lack of the two contacts.

This one is very good and does never fall off ... and you can insert a lens, instead of wearing glasses! Best eye-cup I ever had! It seems to be expensive but it is worth every cent.

you find the Original PENTAX Eye Cup MII 30087 from Japan on ebay. I use it and I like it better than the original eye cup of my K-1. I wear glasses and now they never fog.

Printing on watercolor paper

I did several prints on classical paper for artists with my Epson SureColor P600 and it works stunning fine with most papers. But you should make individual ICC profiles for each paper and your printer with, for example the xrite i1 studio. Works fine, but I dont know how many years the color will be stable. My prints are looking still good after more than one year. Without the individual ICCs it doesnt look as good.

PENTAX-M 300mm F4 (GREEN STAR ) with teleconverter

I have the A*300/4, which is optical identical to the M Version and I recommend to use it pure. It is a fantastic lens and great from f5.6. Sometimes i use it with the AF 1.7x Adapter which gives the lens AF. But it is much easier to use it without a converter when handheld. With a converter you should use a tripod if you want sharp pictures.

Pentax-D FA* 70-200mm F2.8 or DA* 60-250mm F4 Lens

I agree with Uncle Vanya. The DA*50-135/2.8 is one of my favorit lenses with a wonderfull rendering. The DA*60-250 also is a very good lens. So choose one of them or the older zoom (HD Pentax-DA 55-300mm F4-5.8 ED WR Reviews - DA Zoom Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database)

Capture One support for Pentax 645z - Finally!!!

Thats right. Everybody who asks the C1 support becomes this answer. Pentax has to give them the SDK. Meanwhile allmost all other companys can be tethered by C1. Ricoh please give them the stuff they need to build the tethering support for Pentax.
If not, then Ricoh, please bring your own tethering software IT2 to work together with other software than DCU or Lightroom. But better than build a semipro tethering software, like the IT2, Ricoh should give support to CaptureOne. I think that would help using Pentax in studios.

I prefer C1 over LR, only drawback is no tethering for Pentax. But it is not the fault of PhaseOne it is the fault of Ricoh/Pentax not giving them the support they need. If Ricoh/Pentax wanted it, PhaseOne would do it, but Ricoh/Pentax must take action. This is what the support told me. So please read this Ricoh!

I wish Pentax would support CaptureOne and his Tethering as well as lenscorrection. The tethering with CaptureOne is something like standard in studios (but not for Pentax!) and much better solution than Lightroom.
CaptureOne would do it if Ricoh would just call them and give them the support they need. Please everybody tell this to Ricoh!

SMC Pentax-A* 300mm F4 vs DA* 300mm f4?
Posted By pid

As a owner of both, the A*300/4 and the DA*300/4, I can say the DA* has little but important opportunity over the really very good A*300/4 and thats its better minimal focus distance of 140 cm. The A*300/4 has a min focus of 400cm! From f5.6 it is very sharp and has a nice bokeh.
I bought the DA*300/4 exactly because of its better min focus distance and AF. But if you can life with manual focus and maybe have a extension tube you got a very good light and small package. Yes the A*300/4 is an excellent lens! ... and by the way it is the smallest 300 f4 lens ever was built!

I am very happy with my A 20/2.8 and waiting for complete my FA Limited series with the DFA 21 Ltd. I am sure it is a amazing lens.
I also have fun with the SMC Fisheye 1:4/17 and the old, but not so bad RMC Tokina 1:3.5/17
