Sensor is dirty or what?

it looks like dust.

if the dust removal unit doesn't work, try a blower.

if the blower fails to remove the dirt, try the pentax lollipop.

if the lollipop doesn't work, try sensor-film.

it took two applications of sensor-fim before i was able to budge some really stubborn dirt stains from my sensor!

with the stubborn dust/dirt i had on my sensor, i ended up using sensor-film to clean the sensor. the blower and pentax lollipop cleaner did nadda.

manual focusing: does it ever get easier?

replacing the focusing screen is quite easy: remove the lens, unlatch the retainer holding the focusing screen in place, and then use a pair of tweezers to remove the focusing screen via the tab. katzeye have more detailed instructions with pictures too.

only problems that may arise is dust getting between the viewfinder prism and the focusing screen or scratching/marking the focusing screen.

and then you may find the there's a disconnect between focusing confirmation and actual focus, which means that you may have to adjust the shim.

getting a new focusing screen will not guarantee perfect focusing, let alone every time. the focusing screen will assist you in achieving perfect focus, but that seems to be more a function of practice and patience than anything else

asdf,

From the photos you posted, i prefer the bokeh of the da40, whereas the bokeh of the 43 seems disturbing to look at.

hi,

i've noticed these spots on my photos that only appear at f11 and higher; are they dirt or are they stains? i've used the pentax sensor cleaner to try and remove them but they remain.

this photo is at f22 and is a crop

serial number is 3934419

Pentax k-r uses in australia

hi peoples,

i'm looking to purchase a k-r in the not too distant future, and i was wondering if there were many k-r users in australia?

if so, what have your experiences been?

furthermore, i've been looking around for a decent deal at the usual retailer-suspect, but haven't found anything like the jb hi-fi deal they did early in the month. is it worth waiting for the deals to come around again or should i look at purchasing an k-r online?

i'm also looking for a pentax smc da 40mm, f2.8 if anyone has a spare laying around..? =P

regards,
ty
