I often turn on pixel-shift when I break out my tripod - so I did so today, when shooting some of my D&D books: Sources by -Occasionally Focused-
HD DA21 Ltd; Pentax KP; Pixel-shift
I should probably shoot non-pixel-shift comparison images, really.

New/old K5 did a good job. Nice choice of lens to christen it ;)
(You did a good job too, mind...)

Christmas brought me an HD DA 21 mm f3.2 Limited OMGOMGOMGOMG I love this lens! Drops ‘n’ bokeh by Occasionally Focused, on Flickr Crochet Bike by Occasionally Focused, on Flickr
I love it so much in fact, that I've decided to shoot with it every day this year (it being 2021, you see ;) ) ---------- Post added 17th Jan 2021 at 10:13 AM ----------
Nice! I have the EX; what's the difference/s in the ART?
read a bit further ... faster AF would be a maHOOsive plus! I agree bokeh is not a strength (at least of the EX) but sharp OMG. I don't think my EX really falls off much in terms of sharpness though. I did have to calibrate the living crap out of it; it was soooooooooooo back-focused. ---------- Post added 17th Jan 2021 at 10:17 AM ----------
Interesting about live-view. I'll remember that when I break out my EX version of this again (though that'll be a while, since I've virtually superglued my DA21 to the camera xP )

Lovely photo - gorgeous spot. Makes my Scot side come out all misty-eyed.
I've had a simple sort of a play with it: Highland Glen.dng-3
and a 16:9, but I think I prefer it as you took it, with the sky: Highland Glen.dng
(I stuck the photos on Flickr so I could post images not too big in the thread but full-size linked; they're private - so not visible without the link I've posted here - and I'll take them down at the end of the week's challenge.)

Nice - I love that soft light. Really good separation/distinction between everything in the scene (despite the upload/display resolution) 8)

Thanks for hosting the challenge - and for the excellent photograph.
I’m surprised you put mine up there - but encouraged as well. This was rather fun; I should try to dip in again

Bah - excuses neither needed nor expected.
Sure, the more you post the more we get to look at, and the more helpful critique you give, and the better the challenge is - but there’s no way that I’d try to put a guilt trip on you about you thinking of ditching...
;)
But being serious, it’s just about sharing a hobby/art we all enjoy. There’s no reason to my mind that you have to declare your efforts failed because you’ve missed a few days; it’s not a binary thing. ---------- Post added 10th Jan 2021 at 01:59 PM ----------
As others have noted: no requirement around theme days.
In fact there’s little requirement in the Challenge at all, other than it being the one lens all month, and at least it one of it and the camera being Pentax.

Ok, stepped up to the iPad. (Still no internet connection so I’d have to mess about transferring the file, and ... yeah nah xP )
Anyway - definitely easier with a bigger screen and the Pencil. I took the same approach though, so particularly shrunk for upload it might not look really different
(Edit ... I’m a little concerned that this might’ve uploaded really big and take too much space in the post. If so, my apologies until I change it)

Cheers 8) Yeah, lightroom mobile is good - even on the phone. Screen size is the major limitation on the phone - in terms of performing edits and also evaluating their effects.
I’m going to have another crack at it on the Mac (once our Internet connection is resurrected, so I can access my iCloud Drive...)

Ok. Stuck on a train, saw this again, wondered “how much could I do with my iPhone?”
trying to follow kerrowdown’s approach somewhat

LOL it’s wild, but after an easy feed ;) He actually sat there letting me get realllly close for quite a while - before I eventually went and got some seed as a reward. ;)
(Strange thing is that I hadn’t been feeding the birds for a while, so I don’t know why this one figured he should try it on...)

I think this needs to happen.
I received an HD Pentax-DA 21mm f3.2 Limited for Christmas (I have the best wife...), and have fallen absolutely in love with it already. I was rather surprised to see that (unless I’m missing something) there is not a lens club for it here on Pentax Forums.
Thus this thread - which I hope can become/start such a club.
I’ll also mention my possibly foolish plan to shoot with the DA 21 every day in 2021: 21 in 21
Join the club, +/- join the challenge (with your own rules or mine - as long as it involves 21mm and 2021). Let’s just celebrate this wonderful lens. [emoji41][emoji41] |

Thanks for that, I’ll check it out
...
Ah, sample photos thread. Somehow different I think from there “lens clubs” type of threads - and located in a different section I think, which perhaps contributes to them getting buried

Cool beans.
Alright then - I’ll create a pictures thread for it too.
If there are buried DA21 threads, maybe we need a group/lens club to be less buried? I’ll have a look-see
