Thanks I found it :D

I've been there already, but I forgot... I like the orange one, and blue one.
I reallly like highlights at max ( but not white ) and deep darks ( but no black )

adding contrast is the way, but I think you can manage better from settings...

---

my techique is always get the color picture, and later in LR I can play with it...

I really don't like limits... I was little dissapointed when I find out the K3 does not have filter bracketing function ( my Pen Ep-5 has it ) - K3 has just exposure bracketing- so it's kind of - not managable to get BW and Color at the same time - and sometimes I would love that.

I'm interested in buying one of very tall stands for shooting larger groups of people, or taller objects like houses or smaller buildings...

I found several techniques that all works with different results but this is still not quite the best you can get...

so I decide to buy taller ( way much taller then 2,0 m ) stand. I would be happy with 4,0 m or even taller.

-----

Now, I need to connect my camera with one useful device for such technique...

-----

One of the things I maybe can check it out is - FLU CARD.... But I have no experience with it, and I think it's limited in some way - and want to hear all from you who have tried to shoot with Flu Card and tethering here...

ALSO

I could connect my K3 with cable - but then again I have no idea - which cable, which program...

---

Simply telling I want to get my camera as high as I can get, and want to operate with it from the ground, and naturally - I must see Display to get the frame right...

correct - I was shooting with 14Mpix size M*** .

Why I'm counting pixels .. Because I often shoot people, and sometimes I count on SR to get lower Iso...

I can easily go with 1/30 to shot the people, but I was wondering how low i really can go.

It seems for me, the blur becomes visible at speed twices low then recomended speed without SR on.

to be said - that means for 70 mm end - 1/100 shuter speed - am I right here ? From film era - it was valid rule how long is your lens lengt - that' how your lowest shutter speed can be.
It's true .

so, Im closeto 2 stop down from that when I get acceptable result with SR turned on - with 1/30 - 70 mm

hmmmm.... I was practicing today again - and measued picture with my usual pixel peeping :D

I found heavy to get clear sharpness with NR on , if the shutter was below 1/30, when I'm on 70 mm length - and I tried that to point camera in some detailed printed box with small but good letters for that kind of tests.

It's good to know where exactly is the line of usable. Because NR is not perfection here, and 3 axis are kind of low... Bigger APS-C sensor sure have limitations.

I'm kind of OK with that. Just want to know where exactly is this thin line.

K3 is a good performer, but I can trully say it lacks SR for be even twice as good.

I often shot people with Oly, because it's small. Using 1/20 sec and contiounus shooting, I always get decent images.

Till yesterday . I did not try this low iso technique on OLy. I was surprised it can go also at 10000 iso with no problem for rendering good and really accurate colors.

Pentax K3 will be amazingly good camera with little better SR.

For me , for best fast results - 1/30 is my maximum.

in Old Film era - the suggested speed limit was at 1/30 ...as slowest you can go. I tried this, and yes - it was the line for hand held shoting with 50 mm lens ( let's say ) .

--

Why is pixel peep relevant here ? Because of noise in high iso. You cannot get even decent pic without tack sharpness. Every imperfection would delivery - really unusable results.

Speaking about technique - let's say this - it's far better to increase your Iso - even at 10.000, then get blurry, mushy, underexposed pic with 6400 or 3200 . (k3 can handle even 12800 with this technique )
And I was't aware of that for a long time... because of that I was always trying to do stuff below 3200 ,

and that's wrong. Wrong for sharpness, and wrong for noise. Yes, you get correct reading about this statement. But it's true. I learned that.

explanation is because - if you do your pics below proper exposure - and specially if you do that in dark somewhere, on concert or some people occasion indoor,

for example - your decision is to go with 3200 - but let's say it's still insufficient lightning for 1/45;1/60 and 6,7 apperture - and you think you would quite easy compensate that with exposure in LR you'll be WRONG.
You will be getting the worse pic,
then you was go with different approach - iso - 9000, and 1/60 at f-6,7 .

Every single photographer - almost 99 % of us - is telling the one single story - and I was also one of them - use lower Iso as you can. So we think that 0,5-1 Ev underexposed pic in some darker room would do the job, and will be getting tack sharp image without noise, just beacuse we want lower Iso.

True is opposite in that darker area - I'm not telling this about good lighting - it'r reserved for darker spaces.

In darker area you have to choose to little overexposed white bright areas, and proper exposure shadows. Shadows from lower ISo shot would not be properly exposed just because you put it in LR after that - and raised exposure to proper value, and it would be look mushier, and with more artifacts .

Second factor here is SR, and high Iso offer better choice for shutter to be at least 1/30 - or 1/60 .

---

try this advice for yourself. You will be shocked that 3200 post processed in LR is not good as 9000 unprocessed - if the enviroment was in darker room, and 3200 was insufficient for 1/30 speed for at least 6.7 apperture

I know low Iso technique is little off topic here - but when we talk about conditions I must bring it up here.

as I say - all of us - had their own expectations -

I would love to hear - what's your results - in the lowest shutter speed - higher Iso - and bigger focal length . ( possibly even at low apperture - to maximise your chances to get blur )

I got very very steady hands, I'm also a good gun shutter because of that. But in 70 mm end - and high Iso - I cannot go below 1/30 , and in Oly - I can get sharp image even with 1/6 sec.

hmmmm - my mistake then

---------- Post added 09-02-17 at 02:10 AM ----------

It's also important to say - in High Iso - and low light environment - the results of sharpness - can be very different. Low detailed image because of high iso noise, is just not good enough - to stand with even small lack of sharpness.

If you don't get your focus well, or with little shaky hands - the results would be much worse , then in low lso, and good lighting ..

So - it's critical to say here - In right circumstances for SR - and that would be low light, SR is not good enough. ( at least for me - and with K3 - partly because I'm spoiled with Oly )

Mix that with 2.8 to 5.6 apertures and miss focus because of thin depth of sharpness - and put yourself in real lowlight situation, like some occasion, concert, or people...

I was wondering about shake reduction system - I mean how ( actually ) is it good on K3... Since I have Oly Pen with 5 Axis stabilisation - and which is just incredible , I came to conclusion the Pentax Shake reduction on K3 - is not even a close match to that one.

Of course, larger sensor is heavier to control, because of larger movements - and heavier camera and longer distance from front of lens to the sensor is also the values we must equally justify.

But, in practice - who care about that - all we want to see is results. And my results are pretty poor.

I'm having troubles with sharper pics in difficult circumstances - low light - and when you have to slow down your shutter speed - it would be then. In low light environment .

So - my test, shows - with classical zoom lens - like Sigma 17-70 MM -

I cannot go below 1/30 - with very steady hands - in 70 mm end. Sometimes I get clean and sharp image with 1/20 - but the line is there.

It's really poor , but I understand the thing the K3 was first pentax with in camera body stabilisation - and performance is not as good in compare with leaders in that segment.

( Olympus in latest OMD offer 5 sec handheld sharp pic , even in zoom end - and it's not a marketing trick I've seen this pics - it's just truly impressive )

---

What's your experience here ?

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear bad news about your most expensive lens, and humidity came inside it.

I can suggest ( if you have any tehnical experiance ) to try clean it and dry by yourself. I can recall I have seen much you tube tutorials how to clean your lens from fungus, and others stuff in it.

---
I also have bad experiance with Pentax WR.

Some guys claim their cameras are not working, after hard work in difficult weather - but - Pentax have always chance to say, to you - it's your fault.

Claims that something is weather resistant - are not stated right - and marketing about it is somewhat incorrect - or should I say - missunderstaning. It's obviously not clear enough - when the Weather resistant should work, and when would not.

Also, I can recall, after my bad hapening with WR, and humidity - my good camera repairing master - was told me.

---

Pentax should absoultelly work on this - because - it would bring to them ( and I think it's already happen ) bad reputation.

Who need that ?
And in what cost ? Few broken cameras ? It's a minor cost for them. And I also think they should repair it also when you're out of waranty dead line.
/ at least 36 months .

It's shame when you had to discover on your own - WR does not mean weather proof.

been there - same situation - but I was splashed by couple of waves on the sea coast - during the shooting on windy day... I was in dilusion - the K3 is weather sealed.... Luckily, my service was able to do repair under the official 12 month waranty - otherwise it would be very expensive... But, I had to argue with service center for that... because it was salty water

water quickly came inside and caused shortbrake on flash - I CAN CONFIRMED HERE ON THIS TOPIC - WEATHER SEALED ON K 3 is not good - or it's completely fake

I know it's sort of irrelevant for subject, but Pentax do things - that I personally really hate. Once of them is - silenced further development. Pentax have one nasty thing when it's up to throwing new camera on market field.

You can not hear from them they're planing to release new camera, until its already on the market ( they do exception from this rule with K1 ) .... which lead to you buy somewhat outdated camera like K3, and tomorrow they send to the market mark II version...

I talked about it some time ago with official Pentax salesman, and he confirmed my observation on that, telling me, there is no absolutely one way, how they as market store of Pentax gear can find out something - before Pentax tell them - and he said - Pentax never do that, unless it's already prepared for market.

He said - Only thing we can see is - somewhat limited info's - about - number of new releases in one business year, and we get that info every year, on the beginning of it . So, he told me - in 2017 will be one more release - but what it would be - he cannot say - because no one know that, except Pentax executives.
---
So, if you have some money - and going to invest in some system - it would be very good to know - wait or buy immediately . I would love that kind of infos ...

Personally I'm waiting for mirror less system better than Olympus - or competitive - and I invest some money in buying K3, and 3 lenses. I like the mount, and history . Pentax proved he can do very good job. After waiting for some time, and incorrect rumors (once again ) about developing new K-01, or whatever they will called it, Pentax was silenced ...

--
I can recall history of my Ricoh GX200 brilliant little camera from 2008. It was GX100 and after that successor GX200. GX300 never came out. They shut it out, and they continued to develop GR instead.
I was wait for a quite while - to get GX300 out - but finally I moved to OLy Pen5, with same sensor like from OMD-EM1. Heaven.
--
So, Ricoh can make very strange moves - and you can call it unreliable - because you never know what can happened to their further development .

One more thing I dislike - is firmware released area. It's so poor, they never do anything extra for their users. Updates are minor lens corrections or add ons to profiles, nothing more than that.
When you compare that - with Olympus company - it's crap.
I'm not here to getting overhaul on Oly - but when you look at their firmware releases updates - and what further functionality bring it to their cameras - you can only say "wow".
Their flagship OMD-EM1 had 4 mayor releases up to 4.0

Pentax dont do that - and when you buy something - deal with that. When you buy something outdated, and tomorow they throw something way better on the market field - deal with that. When they silenced and shut it up something you wait for further development - deal with that.

Company statement in all fields - "When we decide" - is somewhat outdated these days - Companies have to be more friendly, and supportive - not lame, not doing business just by own. Pentax is not bad system.
But they need to improve themselves in social communication area.

They must told us - what they will do - because - everything is different now. They had to many historic and not long time ago, failures - Ricox module cameras, Pentax Q development, Pentax K-01.

I'm planning myself to wait for a little while - just to see - what will be next ...
I read the KP was not that good at all, the assembling is worse than K3 or k3II - I don't know.

Pentax can do better - why they slowing down, ( or why we don't know for sure ) - that's the question(s) . I had hopes it could be ,my final system - but now - I'm not so sure about that

Hello everyone,

I found myself hard to get sharp images sometimes, and I experiment with AF fine tuning. However, later is very difficult to see applied settings on AF in exif. Is there any way to find out this info from your file, or don't ?

I downloaded EXIFPro tool, and I cannot find such info
