From using MLU I would say that the mirror going up is quite well dampened. The mirror going down seems to be responsible for the noise and the kick you feel on firing.

Hi,
I own the 6x7 and 67II. I use both cameras most of the time handheld. My experience with the 105 mm and shorter lenses is: with 1/250 and faster I don't need to worry. For shutter speeds between 1/250 and 1/90 I paid extra attention to stay still. For all longer shutter speeds I use a tripod. If you plan to shoot handheld I definitely recommend to use a 400 speed film. Due to the long lenses compared to 35 mm you need to stop down all the time.
Best,
David

[Pentax ME, 50 mm, Agfa APX100 developed in Rodinal, 11 min, 18°]

[Der Nebel kommt] by davidwitte1, on Flickr

So this week I started developing the rolls of film I shot during summer and autumn. Although I started shooting a while ago and developed quite a few rolls, it involved two "first times" for me. Because it is cheap and available at drugstores in Germany, I switched from shooting FP4+ to Agfa APX100. Quite recently Agfa changed something about their emulsions. However the information about the APX100 out there is quite confusing and it's never really clear if it's referring to the old or the new emulsion. So, I developed my first roll of APX100 and wasn't even sure if I got the time right.
In addition to that, I used Rodinal for the first time (I normally use D-76). My impression is, that you either hate or love Rodinal with its grainy images. So I wasn't really sure that even if I got the development time right that I would like the result. It was quite exciting.
But I am quite happy with the results. Sure, the grain is pronounced and the film looks more like TriX EI800 than an ISO 100 film, but it adds a certain feel to the images. Rodinal will not become my go-to developer but I will definitely use it again.
Cheers,
David

Thanks Steve! It's the Rikenon 50 mm 1:1.7 without a Ricoh-pin. It's really small, cheap and relatively sharp from f/2.8 on. I always use the Pentax ME/Ricoh 50 mm combination when I'm afraid my camera might get damaged, stolen or lost or the K 50 1.2 & FA 50 mm Macro are to big and heavy.
Cheers,
David

Thanks for hosting, geomez! Already a lot of great images in this thread!

I started a new job in Munich this month. So far it's a quite busy time for me, but last Thursday I managed to go on a little photo tour to the grounds of the Olympic Summer Games of 1972. I started at the abandoned Olympia train station:

Then I went on to the Olympia stadium:

Thanks for hosting, mercox! Already a lot of great images here. I especially like your second image, mecrox and your firework shot, Tom.

With two small kids, a dissertation to finish and having to find a job there sadly wasn't much time for photography in the past weeks. But yesterday I managed to get out and take some night shots. I'm still selecting and processing the images from this photo session, so some more might follow.
