Yea that's one thing with Fuji. The jpegs are fantastic out of the camera with many opting out of using RAW completely. I only use jpeg myself. It's so much quicker and the results speak for themselves.

Yea I'm thinking of purchasing the Godox TT350F myself. I've got Fuji's EF-X20 but I'd really like HSS. So for only $85 i can have that.

The one Pentax lens I do miss the most is the FA 100 2.8 macro. And yea, I had the FA 31 and the F*300. Possibly the best 2 lenses Pentax ever made. So I ended up giving my little brother the FA 100. I just couldn't sell it. It's that good. It has a 3D effect I just haven't yet been able to reproduce. And yea. You have to get the FA 100 version. No other Pentax 100 macro comes close to this pixie dust.

I mean look at this photo. Try to reproduce that with any other lens.......Impossible I think.

I know its crazy isn't it? I was comparing my K-3 and FA 31 (Pentax's finest lens) with the X-T1 and their el cheapo 27mm pancake. It wasn't even close :(

Welcome to the "Dark Side" :) I did the same thing last year. Sold all my Pentax gear (K-3) and 8 lenses for the Fuji X-T1. I bought the 14mm 2.8, 35mm 1.4 , 90mm F2 , 50-230 and the Zeiss 50mm 2.8 macro.

Fuji's cheapest plastic lens, but still takes sharper pictures than my Pentax DA*200 in good light. So what's up with that?:)

I had the M 50mm F1.4. It was a great lens. Cheap at $50 and so much fun to use. Keep that one :)

I bought the Fuji X-T1. Love it. No regrets. I even had some of the best Pentax lenses money could buy including the FA 31 and F*300.

Beautifully sharp pictures from Fuji's "cheap kit lens". I've got one myself and just can't believe how sharp and contrasty this hidden gem is.

My camera is so unique and expensive, I don't want you to know what I have.

I do the opposite. I cut out Leica labels from magazines and glue them on my Kodak instamatic 110. People get sooooo jealous it makes me feel superior to them and stokes my ego :)

Ummmm.....that's exactly what I did :) I've been very happy with Fuji. . I sold all my Pentax gear. About $4,000 worth. No regrets. Good luck with your decision. I'm sure you'll make the right choice for YOU. Remember it's all about YOU, not what others have done including me.

I sold my 27mm for the 35 1.4 , a much better lens IMHO. Get the 27mm if you want to go stealth mode for street shooting. It's such a compact and sharp lens you can easily fit both it and the camera in a large pocket ( I had the XT-1). Other than that I found it a bit too clinical, but sharp, and preferred the pixie dust of the 35mm 1.4.

If you want the best lens Pentax has ever made then buy the F*300. All others pale in comparison. Even the FA 31. End of Story. Plus the off white color will give you "Street Cred".

Flickr. Don't use photo bucket. They charge $400 a year to post your photo's for third party websites like this. I moved to flickr along time ago and don't even bother with my photo bucket account anymore. It can just sit there and rot for all i care.

That's funny....I feel the exact opposite LOL. I quite like the Fuji handling and menu design over the Pentax :)

Your Tamron F2.8 is spectacular. I do wish however that you also owned an F*300 so you could compare. I ended up selling my F*300 for a mere $650, but it was the finest Pentax lens I ever owned.

I question whether the F*300 f4.5 is perhaps a better lens than the FA*300 f2.8 for less than half the price?

Wife and kids = money/responsibility. I would not finance even at 0% a camera under those circumstances. With that being said, I did move away from Pentax and sold ALL my gear to acquire Fuji. Why? Because it is so much smaller and easier to carry, and frankly you don't have to work as hard to get a great picture. I owned almost all the great Pentax glass. From the FA 31 to the F*300 along with many of the DA* lenses. I also had the DA 21. The tipping point for me is when I purchased a Used Fuji X-T1 with a 27mm pancake lens and compared it to my K-3 and FA 31. There simply was no comparison as far as IQ, flesh tone, sharpness and rendering. I was sold. But I purchased my Fuji-XT1 used for $550 and also bought a used Fuji 27mm for $275. I've since added a 90mm F2.0, 35mm 1.4, 14mm 2.8 and a 50-230 zoom but that was over a few months time.

Your current Pentax gear is still good stuff. It's just a bit more bulky :)

Here's one with the DA*50-135 Can it do sports action? Oh yes it can....

Untitled by frankweiser, on Flickr

And here's one with the FA 100 2.8 Macro. Undoubtedly one of the finest lenses Pentax ever made. It's got a suburb 3D quality about it.
I challenge any other lens to beat this kind of image quality.

Save yourself $400 and buy a used DA*50-135 like I did. It is not worth $879.95 at BH. I had 0 problems with SDM and it was in excellent condition and very sharp. Buy a used FA 100 2.8 for $275 and you can still walk away with a few hundred dollars in your pocket :)

2 fantastic lenses for under $800.

F* / FA* 300 4.5 - price check?

Prices for the F*300 are falling rapidly. Unfortunately for me I sold my F*300 with foot in very good condition for $640. I paid $975 for it only a few years ago so it was over a $300 dollar loss for me. Even now there are several F*300 lenses in excellent condition listed on eBay in the $600 dollar range. I'm not sure what's going on but it does not bode well for Pentax if their top legacy glass does not hold their value.

The F* 300 is without a doubt Pentax's finest piece of glass ever made. Even better than the FA 31.

Try looking at the Billingham f/Stop 1.4

This shows it with the K-3 but I believe the K-1 will work too.
