I like that you've actually included all the information which were required , many posters skip them, and yet they tell the potential reader so much about where and how you took the shot.
Thanks for that !
Great shot too !
;-)

Yeah, that was the idea , but it somehow got diluted along the way ;-) , but I still think it would be nice to see this kind of precise info , especially helpful to those wanting to learn the best combination of factors in order to improve their results of moon photography, as well as to those who just enjoy looking at these photos :-)

You did well with this stacking technique considering that here where I live moon that low in the sky would produce hazy and poor results. Thanks for mentioning the Registax 4 - looks like a cool app !

Ability to use old K mount lenses on K1 is losing poll!

Some surprisingly bold statements from some of the guys.. I wonder how many of those claiming this 'evident' inferiority of older vintage lenses have actually *used* them (as oppose to 'testing') ??
Lenses as anything else in life takes time to master - and having used mine vintage Pentax K/ Takumar glass for the last 8 years on digital pentaxes and now for a nearly year using them on my Sony A7R - I am anything but concerned about their performance on a 'modern digital sensor'.. in fact I am astounded by the quality of our lovely lenses, and no wonder why people from from all over the 'digital photography map' come and get them!
I assure anybody bold enough to claim that the vintage lenses are so bad, that I can take a better shot with any vintage lens that they would with their shiny new ones.
Fortunately I don't have to be concerned :D as all really good photographers would never said that - they know how great older lenses can be and what they are capable of in able hands...

decentered for sure - apparently they are prone to it. Seen one on ebay with a similar fault once, it went for $40... looks like pentax missed some design flaw on this one :(
good luck with yours

As far as I know it is correct.. and I tested two of those, one -1 and one -2 ( I am -2 ) and the -1 was better, less over-sharpened and putting less strain on my eyes.

Knowing the way the child acts/ plays will help. Being there ready just before action happens does help too... much more than an instant shutter etc.. None of these photos below were arranged or set up in any way. My son was playing freely when I went out with him and my Super Tak 50 1.4 (8-element) on a Pentax K-01 (so not a demon of speed) .. all manually focused , usually pre-, but sometime on the fly , the cinematic style following the action with focus and then shooting when the frame/ pose etc.. is about to be best. My advice is don't expect miracles and set some realistic goals at first then work your way up, spend few months practising with dedication and passion and I guarantee your keeper's rare will be sky-rocketing !

Pentax K3 II with Pentax AF-160 FC Flash

Problems with this flash are not affecting all camera/ flash configurations. Certain serial number and camera models are affected - some believe flashed made in Japan were generally trouble free, where assembled elsewhere are sometime troublesome. Ricoh is deliberately ignoring the problem hoping it would just died out.. with some users switching over along the way, but I guess that is cheaper than fixing the problem with flash/ firmware of a camera...

Welcome in club :/ - I guess you did not read my review ? PENTAX AF 160FC Auto Macro Ring Flash reviews - Pentax Camera Accessory Review Database

or... the associated thread about all sort of exposure problems with these flashes ? https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/120-general-technical-troubleshooting/274...c-problem.html

Sad to see Ricoh ignoring these issues.. I gave up on getting this thing solved after around a year of trying

Nice story Graham (just had a peek at your Flickr :) - great shots there !) You certainly did great with that lens - About Flek 35 I had them both side by side and honestly could not see much of a difference, apart from the convenient switch on the f2.4 version ( for manual aperture) and the speed f2.4 vs. f2.8 , they were performing rather the same. One thing that was distinctive about f2.8 though was the close focusing more, which was something like 17-18cm, where on f2.4 version it was about 19-20cm if I recall.

I wonder what camera you are using because the focusing seems to be spot on in majority of cases - not an easy task for a lens like this!

great results ! and I agree with previous comment on the presentation of your film strips in that way you did - exellent idea ! BTW how do you find that zeiss flektogon 35mm f2.8 ? I have the 2.4 version but for collectors purposes sometime eyeing in the direction of the older one, but the one I had handled once was having pretty rough focusing.. Anyway great shots there which proves the quality of these older German lens ...

nice comparison , the film shot came out very grainy though.. my experience of ISO 100 films are extremely favourable and if properly scanned they can easily retain loads of detail with minimal-to-none grain visible. My guess is that somewhere along the process some errors sneaked in and made your film shots on ISO 100 film this grainy as they were taken on ISO 800+

nice scenes nonetheless :)

You did nice with developing these - only I wonder whether you've figured out this greyish shade that majority of the shot has. It looks like there was not enough latitude or a lot of contrast was dropped. I started playing with own developing and my first roll turned very similarly - wondering what is the cause of it...

I'd call it a bargain if its in great condition! From pictures the lens clearly has a potential so it might really take just few more rolls until you might use it to its fullest. I know how I neglected my A 50 1.2 which also proven to be sharp but so far it is shameful to admit I didn't try it on film. And yeah the bad development really can spoil even a best negative.. for some casual shots I need to stop being lazy and finally develop some of those older rolls. But for some important rolls I really wish I could find a lab where somebody would put an effort and skill into doing their job... Anyway thanks for sharing and looking forward to more of your shots with K50 1.2 !
