isn't it possible to use aps-c lenses on FF camera without cropping the sensor ie to get FF image by changing the focus distance via a K-mount adapter?

K20D operating manual says: High Speed Sync is also available in wireless mode on p.145. I did everthing in order, but when I pop up the built in flash to fire FGZ-540 in wireless HS mode, exposure times becomes 180 automatically.

FGZ-540 operating manual says: "... display WHS on LCD panel." on p.47, but there is no such choice in K20D menus.

What did I miss?

I have tested my Pentax-A TC, it didn't convert my manuel lens into AF one.
Sure I was not expecting anything, since it is not AF either. Just to give it a chance.:D

Then I took my Kenko Pz-AF TC, nope it is hopeless too.
Now, I'm waiting for a SDM lens to test with it.

Pz contacts are SDM compatible, isn't it?

Some ebay sellers (of Pentax SMC F 1.7X AF Adapter) declare that:

When mounted between an autofocus body and either a Pentax A type or M type lens, the adapter converts the lens into an autofocus lens.

The focusing mechanism is fast and snappy. no problem with Pentax SMC A 50mm f1.7 lens & Pentax SMC A 28mm f2.8 lens,

Is it possible? Anybody test it?

Good idea, I have Kenko Pz/AF 2x TC.
I can't share any images since I haven't take a shot yet. But I have just put both of them on my ZX-L now, and AF works stepwise to my surprise.

Dear Iowa Dave,

It sounds good to fool the camera.
Altough I had sold all my M42 screw lenses because I hate to look into darkness through the view finder when stop down; I'll give it a try, when I receive the lens I have ordered. Sometimes it's better than pressing two buttons (green button and then shutter release) for one shoot.

I like the idea drilling another depression in the lens mount to accept the locking pin. So, while I use it as manual mostly, now and then I can twist the lens a bit more to get a lighter brighter view finder when stop down, and start using green button again which is still there.

And also it will help to cease my passion of drilling the lens

Thank you.

Is it possible that they find out a way to use DA lenses on a FF camera for instance via shifting the sensor back and forth?
I can get larger images from my video projector by moving the screen ahead.

I've got a message from Bojidar Dimitrov,
as Troy,Lowell and Steve, he says the very same thing:
:-(

> No, you cannot convert a K lens into an A one by simply drilling holes.

> lenses.

> the problem is that the aperture lever on the lens moves proprtionately

Dear Lowell Goudge,

I had searched the forum before writing in new thread, and I couldn't find your post. I think I didn't choose the right words, anyway.

It would be so nice to read your message, if repeated words were deleted automatically in the posts, as repeated words are detected with wavy red lines in Microsoft Word when spelling checker is on.:D

Thanks for sharing. Hope to find a solution, one day...
