you mean you went from the K10D to the K-7, so the body is actualy smaller than the K10/20 ? thats interesting, is it still easy to handle ? whats it like with longer lenses on it ?

oh I'm in no hurry, as I have two main hobbies, photography and electronics, well I'm doing electronics mostly at the moment and having already heavily invested in some new lab equipment it will be a while before I can invest in a new camera.

so is the K7 a great upgrade ? I've got the K10D and was going to go for the K10D when I had the money, looks like you can't buy one for love or (reasonable) money, the few second hand K20D camera that i have seen cost more than a new K7 and come from obscure countries.

Does the K7 use the same sensor as the K10 D ? I never figured out why they changed the name so much, I was expecting the K30D (and we were speculating a while back about a K3D)

Hi guys, was wandering around the local car boot sale and came upon a sigma 75-300mm lens for a good price. its an f4.5/5.6-22, but I'm really wondering is it worth keeping as i already have a pentax 55-300 and could probably sell it making a little profit. does this lens have any particular carachteristic that will make it special in any way ?

its a sigma zoom-(lamda symbol) II it can have the aperture controlled by the camera so is a pretty decent lens for a modern pentax dslr

well I have the smc DA 55-300 so I think theres probably no point as the optics of that one won't be much good with a teleconverter attached

I bumped ito the following on ebay: 300/600/1000mm Tele Lens DIGI Pentax Canon EOS 20 -400D on eBay, also To Fit Canon, For 35mm SLR, Camera Lenses, Photography (end time 06-Jun-09 19:00:00 BST)

having just bought an smc DA 55-300 mm lens I don't think I'd having anything to gain from this kit unless the lens is of good quality, are photax good lenses ? bearing in mind this is an old manual lens

just trust your instincs.... can you get a camera equivalent to the K1/20D for the same money ? Nope and pentax comes with in camera SR so your not getting screwed time and time again, as far as I know p[entax is the best at least for the amateur like me. so if someone want to bash a good brand their welcome to: I won't be listening i've got better things to do.

thats right a number was asigned to each film type the fact that 135 happens to have 35 in alsomost coincidence with 36 wide frame is merely a coincidence

those are all the reasons i do it the way i do. I have a raid0 setup so I am safe against that in backing up alone, having the portability I am also protected against fire theft and floods.

very very true, I've often captured 50+ Mpx images as a standard with my fuji bridge camera and K10D, if you are prepared to spend time and effort you can do things most people would not trouble to do. of course it won't work on moving subjects, but then what about 2+ cameras set up to be syncronised ? oops thing I'm going a bit far now...

it all depends sensor size alters the perceived focal length and also the perspective of the lens, my old bridge camera had a 6.2mm lens to give the angle of view of 28 mm my pentax 18mm give the same agle of view, clearly the perspective of the two lenses is not the same, smaller lens: greater DOF the combinations are mind blowing if you think of it, the "standard" on medium format is 200mm i beleive but this will compress perspective by 4 times compatred to the "same" 50mm lend on a 35mm format.
