Minimum computer requirements? Suggestions.

Get the best you can afford, but have a minimum of a 256gb ssd for the OS and programs, another 3tb for storage, and try to get either an i7 or Ryzen processor. Also, minimum of 8gb ram, 16 is better. Don't listen to people who tell you to go for a system that is the equivalent of 5 year old tech.

I wonder if he can do realignment on lenses. My Tamron 70-200 is slightly decentered, which is only apparent if I do astrohotography with it.

It does a decent job, but it is almost as heavy as some DSLRs. Remember it is 5 year old tech though.

There are still Sigma 12-24 lenses floating around out there. Ultra wide, FF, rectilinear, and fairly sharp. Wouldn't be too difficult to find one under 500 I'd imagine.

LBA Itching... What about a HD DA 1.4?

It works well with the DA* 60-250

I am not sure on the FA* 85, but it works with every single AF lens I have and passes correct info whether screwdrive or not.

Yes, it works well for astro with a telescope and with a lens. PeteXL uses it. check the Astrophotography user group on here. I've used it and have been happy with the results, but I don't have any linked pics because my processing at the time sucked. You will not introduce any bad stuff in, but it will take longer to gather light due to the stop of light lost.

NASA put pictures of most of the Messier catalog as shot by Hubble on Flickr. Sure, it isn't Pentax, but I figure there are others like me who would enjoy it.

I'm simply not a fan of software as a service. I'd rather own the license to it.

It would have to be integrated with video mode because the exposures used to capture either are so short you don't get blur. That could be pretty cool though if it were to work.

I've used mine for WiFi mainly because the old fashioned way to do ISO is what I am used to and I simply forget I can use it for ISO.

Rokinon or Samyang 85 f/1.4 or one of the clones of it. I want to try this for astrophotography. Hoping to find one for 150 if someone has it and finds that it isn't what they wanted.

Based on what your budget is I've seen the DA*60-250 come up in your price range off and on. You might look for that.

Upgrading from K-r - K-s2 or K70?

Any of them would be a huge improvement over the Kr, but if you're needing to save a bit any of them as a kit with the 18-135 would make you a heck of a kit.

The 18-135 will focus pretty fast, however it is still a slower aperture lens at f/3.5-5.6. The closest you might get is the DFA 24-70 f/2.8 for the most range and faster aperture. You're not going to get a superzoom with a fast constant aperture.

Some more stuff with the K1. The K1 has pretty good Ha response for astrophotography. I really need a battery grip for it.

Is this a sign of lens damage?

Generally if I have a bad experience with a shipped lens it is a misalignment thing where softness hits one side. Never heard it even across the frame.
