As the sun rose in the Maine fishing port of Stonington, I looked down off the lobster dock and isolated a single boat in the water.

An annual lure for adventure seekers is Tariffville Gorge on the Farmington River in Connecticut. Kayakers show their admirable skills in the tumbling waters. My eye is drawn to the vibrant red in the kayak and worn by this determined competitor.

After photographing the Owl's Head Lighthouse in Maine, I was walking down the path and noticed these budding leaves on what appeared to be an elm. I found this tiny scene fascinating to view along the rugged coast of Maine.

Cape Neddick Light Station in York Maine, better known as Nubble Light, is dressed in its holiday finest for Christmas in July. Photographed with the K-5 + Sigma 17-70mm lens at 50mm, f9, 13 seconds.

I captured my daughter and grandkids in their pjs on Christmas morning to share with friends. Sammy the cat was the only uncooperative member of the family to turn his head at the decisive moment.

Submissions may be at the whim or artistic vision of each photographer, but they must fit the category. The sky should be the main focus of the photo, not just one element in it. Too many submissions just happen to have sky as part of the picture, but they in no way fit the category.

I picked it up for 39.99 with no shipping charge on eBay, at the same time MacMall's own website had it for 49.99.

It also powers the af540fgz, but it only drops recycle time from 6 seconds for NiMH batteries down to 4.5 seconds. It runs around $150 or so.
I opted instead for a used Quantum Turbo battery I found on eBay. It cost me 150 dollars, plus 50 bucks more for the right power cord for Pentax. But it dropped that 6 second recycle time ( which is an eternity when you're shooting sports inside) down to 1 second.
And you don't have to keep feeding C batteries (the TR Power Pack needs 6). The Quantum is self contained and fully recharges in just a few hours or less.
