Thanks guys. I like the Flipside but without being a toploader, I'll skip it. I like the Think Tank too but $$$$. I'm watching a few Crumpler bags so I think that's what I'll end up with.

I wish I could do that. I live in a bigger city but there are only a few camera shops with little selection. :hmm::hmm::hmm:

I used to have my K100D with a Tamron 18-200 in a Tamrac Velocity 7x sling pack that fit my few extra lenses. Now that I've got a K5 with a grip and Tamron 17-50, Pentax 50mm f1.8, and an AF360 on the way (and possibly a Tamron 70-200 f2.8), I just don't have the room. I like the top loading feature of the sling pack but I don't know if there's anything like that that's big enough for what I've got. I like the look of the Lowepro Flipside 15L but it looks like it might be a bit of pain to load and unload. The Tamrac Velocity 9x looks like it might work but it looks like it might be huge as well, although I'm not sure I'll find anything real compact for what I've got now. Any suggestions?

My dad has that Tamron on his Canon and I love the picture quality. If I can get my stuff sold, I'll be interested.

I haven't looked at the Pentax version but I bought the Canon version for my dad to use with his Rebel XT. He said it's MUCH better than his owner's manual.

Some good info here. I'm leaning towards the Katz Eye. No Haoda customers here?

I'm glad I read this. I had no idea they did the refund. I've never had any problems with Amazon and this is another check mark for them.

So it's basically a video camera? A good photographer shouldn't have to hold down the shutter button to get the picture but that's just my opinion.

I've seen that seller before. He relies on the stupidity of the world to sell his overpriced goods. I've seen his auctions pop up on other photography websites as well with people surprised at the outrageous amounts he wants for his items.

Katz Eye vs. Haoda vs. Chinese eBay focus scree

I'd really like to get a split prism focus screen now that I can afford one. The Katz Eye seems to be popular, the Haoda one seems to have good reviews and the Chinese eBay version is cheap and seems to work ok. I wouldn't mind getting one of the better ones but has anybody ever tried them ALL to see which one works the best?

RAW or JPEG

I didn't think I was going to bother with RAW when I first got my camera but after using it and seeing all the adjustments I can make, I love it. It takes a bit of time to convert but I think that pays for itself in having better images. I even use it for snapshots that I don't really care much about. The only downside about my newfound love for RAW files is needing a larger hard drive.

Pentax K100d or K100D Super, which one?

This has been asked quite a few times here. I've read many opinions about the dust reduction's lack of efficiency. I would take the K100D over the Super any day of the week. That extra $100 will buy you a couple nice used manual lenses or get you halfway to a P-FA 50mm 1.4.

Wouldn't it be cheaper altogether to get a K10D from the US?

Don't bet on PayPal being your friend. I've heard of more people getting screwed by them in a dispute than being helped (a Google search will support this as well). Just an FYI for the future.

Canadian $ at par with US $- Why aren't retail prices at par?

Here's what I don't understand: the dollar is even now (or very close) but prices aren't going to adjust for awhile (if ever). That's understandable if the items were bought from the US at a higher exchange rate. The company needs to make their money back. The exact instant a skiff of wind hits an oil refinery out in the ocean somewhere, gas prices skyrocket even though what's in a station's tank is older stock.

I'm not sure what kind of fog you're living in but there's others here that also have a problem with your listing. Mayo brought this to attention for the same reason anyone else would've: this is a community and everybody USUALLY helps everybody else. The main problem is that you don't even have the lens in hand, hence why you can't fulfill Mo's request. I think you're trying to skirt around this issue and talk your way out of something you didn't think you would get caught doing.

Here' my FYI: I added you to my blocked bidder list on eBay and will make sure never to do business with you in the future.

I have to say that reselling something before you even have it in hand is pretty shady. I won't be bidding on that.

Wow. I can't even begin to think about affording one (I barely made it getting my K100D) but those samples look great. That 6400 ISO picture looks about as clear as my 1600 ISO pictures.

Internal dust

That's a rough looking element on that lens. Without seeing that, I would say that one single speck inside your lens isn't going to matter. I have several lenses with more than one piece of dust internally and have never noticed it. I'd be more worried about dust on the sensor then on/in the lens.

Something I'll add that's just hearsay since I don't own a Samsung is that their customer service is lacking compared to Pentax's.

$1200 probably isn't too bad if you think that you'd have to pay customs fees on top of what you would buy from the US. That lens usually sells for about $1000 in the US.

This has happened to me on the 2 sets I've already gone through. The battery meter does go to half and depleted very quickly (several minutes) before the camera gives me the depleted message.
