Up for sale is my Pentax K-5II with D-GB4 Grip and Canon EE-S Percision Focus Screen. I am the original owner and selling due to upgrading to K-1 and do not need 2 dslrs.

Shutter Count: 20,742

Condition: Good to Excellent condition.

The camera comes with Pentax Genuine D-GB4 battery Grip and D-Li90 Battery.

I have also installed Canon EE-S focusing screen as I used the camera with many manual focus lens. The focusing screen will cost around $70 if purchased new. The S Type focusing screen is considered by many to be the best screen ever for manual focus. You can find many threads in the forum discussing the S-type focusing screen. I will also include the original focusing screen that came with the camera.

To be precise, better AF-C only. AF-S is the same based on review. Same huge AF confirmation area, multiple times the size of the AF indicator.

Fine Focus Adjustment on K1

I find FA in real life is pretty useless as the AF area for all the focus points are HUGE. For example, the center point covers the area just inside the center spot metering circle. All other AF points have similarly huge coverage. I could never have any assurance that where I point the focus indicator is where the camera is actually focusing.

Item for Sale
Ultra Rare Vivitar Series One 55mm f1.2

Asking Price
450.00 USD

Item Location
Chicago (United States)

Item Description
This is an ultra rare and excellent copy of Vivitar Series One 55mm f1.2, which I understand is based on the Revuenon, but in the ultra-rare Vivitar VMC badging. I am not sure if this was actually sold retail given how rare this lens is.

I have owned this lens for about 5 year and I genuinely get a little excited flutter in the tummy every time I click it on to the camera - it's got beautiful EVERYTHING. Gorgeous 9 blade bokeh, fantastic color and contrast (esp. at f2 and slower) and a wonderful multi-coating that makes cleaning a breeze. Also really quite incredible sharpness even at f1.2.

During the 5-year I owned the lens, I only took it out of the house once. This is one of those museum pieces that I play around with and just admire how incredible the lens of the yesteryear was built.

The lens is in EXCELLENT condition cosmetically, optically and mechanically. There is really nothing else to say, I basically can't find fault with it except for the original front cap - has some light marks on it (see photos) but nothing serious. Also comes with Tokina rear cap.

Given the lens is fully manual with no electronic contact, you would use the lens as any other Pentax M prime lens.

FA*24 Internal Focusing Wabble

Rear lens group of my FA24 wobbles and is quite loose. You can tell by pointing the rear of the lens down, then the focusing group would move a bit on its own toward the front if I put up on it using lenspen. At infinity focus, I noticed the IF group was quite loose. If I push against the rear glass then shake the lens, if I don't hear anything loose.

So practically speaking, the problem exhibits itself at infinity focus. If I tilt the lens down at infinity, the image is quite soft, but If I point the lens up at infinity, the image is very sharp. No issue at other focusing distance.

Can this be fixed? The center sharpness/contrast of the lens is otherwise very good even at F2.0.

I tried to confirm with seller about the condition of the items, functionality and whether 43 would be included and I got no response. I considered the item but decided against taking the risk. The lens could be decentered, has fungus or haze or oil on the blade etc. and there is no way of knowing.

I was thinking along the LED light route - it's tricky to get it right (have not been successful myself but have seen others' work with great success).

Someone help take a look at the lenses in my sig and advise whether I should let one or more lenses go.

I like portrait, landscape and fine art. I have K-5 II and K-01.

I have used all of them from time to time and I donít think I can sell any of the limited.
