K-1II review... Opportunity to get banned on DPR

It's not insane. They clearly state that their expectation of what a camera in this price range should offer has changed in 2 years since they reviewed K1. Hence, lower rating in 2018 for the same camera. The expectation and rating change over time. If that were not the case, all 2018 cameras woulkd score over 100% if compared to 2008 cameras.

That's also true for Olympus and Hasselblad if you downsample the image to original size. All three do exactly same thing.

Download the Olympus high-resolution image from dpreview, and downsample it original size. You will less noise, more DR, less moire, and more resolution, than the single shot image, which is to be expected, identical benefits to Pentax or sony or if you do the same thing in photoshop with any camera as the link I provided shows you how to do it handheld with any camera.

You will get the same result as Pentax implementation once you downsample the image to original size. You will see improvement in resolution, more DR, and less noise. Try downsampling Olympus higher resolution image to original size.

There is no difference.

Or do it in photoshop with any camera. Same result.

Please go and see the results again (more resolution, less noise, moire reduction etc).

You can do it on any camera handheld using burst mode and photoshop, see:

You can get the same result on any camera by shooting in burst mode and combining the images in photoshop. Here is how to do it

Moore's Law is dying. but more importantly Moore's has no relation to camera sensors. Moore's Law is about number of transistors doubling on on a circuit (nothing at all to do with CMOS sensors) and Moore's Law isn't a law. It's an educated prediction, and of course it will die as laws of physics put ultimate limitations to the size (and also speed, as nothing can travel faster than speed of light).

Moore's Law is dying fast, by the way.

Sony A7rII - 42MP

DSLRs unlike mirrorless cameras can't focus fast without a moving mirror, and a mirror isn't silent. So on a DSLR silent shutter would either be only manual focus or liveview only with no viewfinder

Sony can afford to do a lot of things, and they showed it by keeping Rx100 sensor for themselves for 2 years. Most (if not all) of Sony money comes from selling smaller cellphone sensors to Apple and other phone companies. There is absolutely no chance that Pentax is using this new sensor in a camera that is about to go in large production (if not already in production) but no rumor site knew about the 42 Mp sensor. No, there was no such rumor.

You won't be seeing this sensor in another camera for an year, at least.

Plus a camera based on this sensor will not be cheap, especially given it costs more to make DSLRs than mirrorless.

I doubt it:

(1) A7RII was so secretive that even just a day before it was announced, SAR (and other rumors sites) had absolutely no clue about the specs and none mentioned the 42 MP sensor. It's highly unlikely that Nikon and Pentax were
manufacturing cameras based on that sensor (and Pentax one would be close to production if not already in production) and no rumor site even knew about it.

(2) Last 3 years Sony has shown they would go exclusive on some sensors for an year or two before they start selling (example: RX100, A7s, etc), so there is no guarantee that this sensor is even on sale yet.

I didn't say the sensor were identical. The performance is identical according to dxomark.

0.3 EV is that great sample variation? Really? Thats a news to be. Dxomark states that total point difference needs to be greater than 5 points for the difference to be visible to a human eye. D800 and A7R score 95 points, and D800E 96, totally irrelevant sample variation.

By the way, dxomark has examples where sample variation (or margin of errors) are much bigger than that. Look at even much bigger (far bigger) DR score between RX1 and RX1R

Sony RX1R vs Sony RX1 - DxOMark

even though we know for a fact that both sensors are identical.

Doesn't prove a thing.

A7R and D800 scores are identical on dxomark, just as I stated initially.

All three are over 14 stops and the 0.5 stop difference could happen even among same cameras due to sample variation. Dxomark originally listed A7R at 14.4 EV for DR but later changed it to 14.1, again probably just a sample variation if they were testing more than one model

D3x actually did score much higher than A900 on dxomark, but D800 does not score higher than A7R. So Nikon isn't "squeezing" anything more from the sensor, at least not according to dxomark.

Try zooming in both by 200% and you will see A7R maintains its sharpness better.

Upscaling A7R to 40 MP probably will eliminate any fabric difference that you can see, while maintaining same sharpness as 645D.

especially on the scale, right side of the image.

Given $6000 price difference between the two cameras, I would say 645D needs a newer sensor. Otherwise it's totally dead

That will not explain anything here as Nikon cameras are using faster shutter speed. If they are underexposed, that has nothing to do with dxomark ISOs but with faster shutter speed.
