well, not directly, but on topic..

this is Google Translation (a very good one to boot) of an article posted on RT News,

Новости NEWSru.com :: Исследование: мировой экономикой управляет одна "суперкорпорация"

as follows:

The specialists of the University of Zurich conducted a mathematical analysis of the linkages 43 thousand transnational corporations and have a frightening conclusion: the world is ruled by a giant "supercorporation." That's it, "pulling the strings" of the world economy.

To simulate the image of the global corporate system, experts have processed a huge amount of data that reflect the relationship between the property's largest multinational corporations, says New Scientist.

"The reality is so complex that we had to move away from dogma, whether it's the conspiracy theory or the theory of the free market - said the study's author, theorist James Glattfelder complex systems. - Our analysis is based on real data."

Previous studies have shown that a relatively small group of companies and banks owned the lion's share of the world's "economic pie" from which all the rest are only crumbs. However, these studies have overlooked the indirect relationship - the relationship of corporations with subsidiaries and affiliated companies.

Sorting 37 million companies and investors around the world represented in the database with Orbis in 2007, a team of scientists from Zurich selected 43 060 companies owned by multinationals, and revealed their total assets.

Was built model of the distribution of economic power by controlling the TNC of some companies over others: possession of funds, profit sharing, etc.

Scientists have found a core of about 1318 companies, whose links with the other can hardly be called other than incestuous. Each of these in 1318 discovered a close relationship with two or more other companies (the average number of affiliated partners was equal to 20).

And while the official income of these corporations hardly exceed 20% of global net sales through its company-owned satellites are in fact the majority of international companies operating in the sector of "real" economy. Thus, in the tentacles of corporate monsters are concentrated around 60% of global revenues.

By continuing to unravel the vast web of ownership, the team found that most of the financial chains are in the direction of "superanklava" from 147 companies. Their assets intersect with each other, actually being the common property, which provides that a tacit financial conglomerate control over 40% of global corporate wealth.

Most of these "supercorporation" are financial institutions. Thus, in the top 10 were:

1. Barclays plc

2. Capital Group Companies Inc

3. FMR Corporation

4. AXA

5. State Street Corporation

6. JP Morgan Chase & Co

7. Legal & General Group plc

8. Vanguard Group Inc

9. UBS AG

10. Merrill Lynch & Co Inc

The researchers note that the protests against global capitalism, which began around the world under the slogan "Bring Wall Street" - an obvious reaction to the power of corporations.

But the results of the analysis the researchers did not agree with the statements of demonstrators protesting against the "money bags" Wall ctrit. Scientists, it seems unlikely that corporations, whose power lies at the heart of the world economy can have real political power - they are too many divergent interests.

as someone that works in the industry... the only way to deal with that is to either ban US citizens from having offshore bank accounts, or forcing the foreign banks to close all US owned bank accounts.

good luck with either

ohh and, owning a swiss bank account most definitely does not hide you from people who REALLY want to find out..

so you think only poor people need to protest?

you think if things continue as they are, that everything is going to just pan out?

if paradigms are not changed now, then you will be in their shoes 5-10 years from now, but it will be too late

and housings costs at this point are just silly :/

To this day when the words left and right are being thrown around they don't connect in my head, no matter how many definitions I read the associations don't link in my mind.

almost like when someone asks you what time it is and if you look at an analog watch you can't seem to figure out what time it is :/

people get so hung up on the labels that they will inevitably be caught contradicting themselves at some point, which only makes matters worse

so better to just speak your mind and not represent any one party or ideal, that's just extremism :D :D:D:D

i'm doing more journalism courses and i figure this is a good place to catch some decent conversations

it's amazing how bland the minds of my classmates are (granted i'm about 4-5 years senior), but whenever the teacher asks a question, the class remains silent, and many times i feel like i'm just having a two person conversation.

a critical mind needs good exercise!

80 Arrested as Financial District Protest Moves North - NYTimes.com

for years Cops don't do shit about city homeless, and now they create rules to effectively kick out "squatters"

"New rules posted in the park on Saturday seemed aimed at the protesters. In addition to bicycle riding, camping gear and sleeping bags were now also banned."

Hells Angels not a Criminal Organization

i love the justice system!

Hells Angels beat organized crime charges after marathon trial - thestar.com

"In his closing remarks to the jury, Bottomley also argued that “there's a very significant difference between a criminal organization and an organization that has some criminals in it.”

If you like riding bikes and wearing leather, go nuts, but for the top courts to conclude that Hells Angels is your typical run of the mill family get together is a slap in the face.

I mean sure, not everyone in the "club" is a criminal, but there is a reason why the clubs top tier members are in court.

The continued existence of such a club structure will help to protect those criminals from direct prosecution and surveillance.

But i guess it's all about being politically correct nowdays.

i found a roll of film that i never developed, it is a fuji neopan 400.

however the mystery is that i THINK i did some crazy pushing with this film, and for the life of me i can't remember if it was 800, 1600, or even 3200

i'm thinking i tell the shop to develop at 1600 and just wing it? If i ask them to develop at 1000-1200 would they even bother? I dont think shops nowdays want anything outside standard procedure.
