Which Firmware are you using? Maybe a newer version will fix it. My K-1 doesn't mock me like that, gladly.

I paid 35 € for my M 28 3.5 which had slight marks of use, the K 28 3.5 cost me around 64 € + shipping, my K 35 3.5 cost me about 30 €, a true bargain :o
And i would never ever buy a M 28 2.8 or a pendant of those again if I had the chance to choose. Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's worth it- In my opinion the M 28 3.5 is the real deal considering size, weight, sharpness (at all apertures) and costs. ;)

My favorite lens is the Pentax K 28 3.5. Razor sharp and not to big, and not to small! Had the A 28 2.8, M 28 3.5 and now the K 28 3.5. The A 28 2.8 (same optical formula as the M 28 2.8) was horrible, only usable at F8 and higher, the M 28 3.5 is great, smaller than the K 28 3.5, but a little less sharp. The K 28 3.5 is perfect :)

Hey guys, just a quick question about the leitax adapter. Lenses used with the Leitax-Adapter have to be used like a M-Lens right? So no setting of aperture via the camera?
Thanks :)

Hey there, thanks for the great feedback!
Yes, I love my old glass! I use them even more than my new glass :o
Sure, no problem. Acutally, it was already pretty dark (it was about 9 o'clock pm), i had my tripod set and focused via Liveview (there were other photographers too, cursing on their autofocus :D).
First I tried to go with my M 50 1.4, but in my opinion the picture got to narrow, I wanted to have the bridge as a huge glowing leading line to the cathedral. So i took the K 28 3.5, set it to F8 (everything is in focus, and because I had my tripod with me, long exposures wouldn't be a problem) and just waited for a train to pass by.
Post Processing? Actually, there isn't much I did. Time and location are doing the most part here. I can attach the unprocessed picture :)
What I did, is working on contrast and sharpening after downscaling. Attachment 349978 |

I got myself a Samyang 14 2.8 recently. I was looking for a wide angle for a long time now, but couldnt decide! Got it for 230 Euro (about 250 Dollar) and i am happy, even though i would be really happy if it had the ability to use filters :(

How do you know a lens is out-resolving the sensor? Are there specific tests for that? I am really curious about that!
I thought about using Pixel-Shift with my old gems (K 35 3.5 and K 28 3.5, maybe stopped down) and would really like to know if they can outresolve the sensor (At open aperture or maybe they can't at all, no matter how closed the aperture is?)

I was also very sceptical at first, but a member from the german biggest cameraforum told me it's totally safe to buy from Amazon.us. They also calculate all the taxes, so you get the endprice including all taxes :) I got no problem at all, got an international warranty card and i read, that it's no problem to give Pentaxlenses which are purchased in foreign countrys in for repair in Germany :) I didn't have to go to the "Zoll" too :o

Mate, you should have grabbed one on the big sale on amazon US
Bought mine from the US (I'm also from Germany) and it was all fine :) Saved like 150 Euros without any problems with taxes or so :o
Have to do some more testing about sharpness and decentering, but right now, i am pretty happy with my purchase!

Are there any news about the Samyang 20 1.8? Any good Reviews?

My disappointment was the A 28 2.8.
My copy wasn't sharp at all, only at f6.3 and above. I sold it later and bought the M 28 3.5 and was veery happy with it. Now I switched to the K 28 3.5 and it's the same great sharpness with great blue color :)

I guess the lens is slightly decentered, because on the last picture, on the left side you can see way more coma (startrails) than on the right side. Otherwise it looks quite good (imo).
The only real game-killer for me is the flare resistance- or better the non-existance of flare resistance :D
Otherwise the lens would have been my choice as a wide angle lens.

Bought myself a 28-105 on this sale. Even with all the Taxes included it's 200 Euro cheaper than middle Europe! But it was, and still is out of stock. Hopefully that doesn't matter and they will send it after they refill!
Hopefully it makes its way safely to Europe :o

Not really, it really means the front element is not sealed, and it should be sealed to be truly weather resistant.
I was at Photokina and i asked them exactly about the difference in weather sealing comparing the Blackstone and the Firefly. (I asked him which version he would choose, if he wants to use the lens in light rain for example)
The Techguy (The Big one with the beard, very friendly) said he would recommend the Blackstone for serious action in the rain. Also he seemed to be unsure where to draw the line, how much "bad weather" the Firefly can take..
If the Firefly is as weather sealed as the Blackstone is, they would not make a difference at that point.

In Germany it is available too, but not for the Pentax Mount yet. I asked the german distributer via Facebook (Link) and they said you can already order it.
