I've been going through all your replies and what DxO published and the truth is, I really don't understand why they had to shelve the results unless there is really bad faith.

Is this lens coming? I'm interested. Really interested. It's something to dream about. I hope it's PLM and has an aperture lever. I want to use it on my k-5II.

I can't understand what I did wrong when I used my k-3II video. The whole episode was about 30 minutes. after about 15 minutes it seemed to have a blink and then continued. Then it happened after about 5 to 8 minutes. Was it because of an overheating sensor?

Any more news on the new Tamron 16-300?

I believe that the KP is a breakthrough in the APSC line. The image quality is superb and man, that machine is a macho machine and is terribly sexy. I wish I could afford 2 right now. When it comes to lens AF, the new 55-300 is another breakthrough. I hope Ricoh will keep on developing the Pentax brand and I wish there will be a means to use this lens on the k-5 series.

Hmmm. I haven't read or heard any news that the K-1 is the first and final full frame. We have no evidence saying it's the last or Pentax is going to give up the DSLR business.

Hmmmm, I don't think what you're saying is accurate.

I'd prefer a 100-400 or 80-400. However, the DFA 85 is for prime shooters. I'd get one if I had the funds. But I think this 85 will be expensive.

It is not a crime to like, buy and use 3rd party lenses. To me, I get the gears that fits my needs and of course it's something I like. I don't care what other people say.
3rd party manufacturers normally coexist with the.major brands. The way I see it is, some people avoid Pentax because there is no support from 3rd party manufacturers. As far they're concerned, they have no other options.
I also agree with you regarding AF. This is something that I have accepted when I bought into Pentax in 2014. The AF isn't at par with the other brands. I believe they need to have a major improvement in this area.

What camera/s are you using? There are some issues with the 560II on the K-5II/s. There are times that it miss fires. I've experienced it too but not that much. Does the 560IV work well on the k-3II? Is there a version for Pentax or do we choose between Canon and Nikon compatibility? Thanks

My Yongnou 560II just bricked on me. It won't fire on my K-5II or my K-3II and I haven't used it that much. When I power up, it gives this weird sound and slight vibration. I still haven't purchased the Yn585Ex and I'm wondering if it would be durable enough and can be a good replacement.

Can anyone tell me how does the YN585EX fair with Metz 44AF? Thanks

I thought he was rep of the company who was announcing new products.

Anyway, a fellow went to me when I was taking pictures in the plaza this afternoon. He introduced himself as a Pentaxian. We talked a little about our gears and how many people he knows using Pentax in our area. Glad to know that there are 5 of us here versus thousands of Canikonyfu users. Nice to know there are other Jedi in my area.

K3 II shutter doesn't stop firing

Actually, some say it's a hardware problem. What Ricoh did was to make a software update to arrest the problem. I even thought that this hardware problem was arrested on the K-3II. I guess they still use the same hardware and made some tweaks so that the mirror flap would behave differently than that of the K-3. So far, there are very few reports of this on the k-3II.

It's a different scenario compared to the k-3. It happened to me when my k-3II was about a month old. I don't know how much was my shutter count then. What happened to me was I was shooting on single shot mode continuously. Then it started to flap as if I had my camera on continuous mode. When I released the shutter button, it stopped. It never happened since then. Not even on continuous mode. I hope it won't happen again, fingers crossed.

Some of them are pros. I like some who review products without bias. I know some are locked into specific brands. They normally review 3rd party gears like sigma or tamron versus a specific brand for example Canon and nothing else. But they give a balance review by providing sample shots and actual field tests.

I've only joined Pentax about 3+ years ago. During the film days I was using Canon and Nikon. In 2008, my first digital camera was an Olympus e-410. So you can say I don't have brand loyalty to Pentax. However, I chose Pentax because I like it. I know the system's disadvantages and I can live with it. To me the important thing is, I like what I have and I'm comfortable using it.

There are times when I look at reviews in youtube to support my decision in purchasing items especially cameras. I even read some of the feedback in dpreview. True enough the reviews in youtube and dpreview would point to a camera or a system's deficiencies. But some reviews would give the pros and the cons of the system. It would then be up to you to decide if you're going into the system. In my case, the advantages simply outweighed the disadvantages. However, when it came to buying into Pentax, I gave priority to this forum. Though some would give over rated reviews, most reviews are balanced. It's sad though that Pentax wasn't able to provide better marketing efforts. It would have been in a better position if marketing made some efforts. I guess the shake off from being bought from one main company to another stopped marketing from doing their work.

I bought my k-3II two years ago. If I hadn't, I would've acquired a KP. I'm more of the image quality guy than a features guy. After all, it is the end product that will speak for you, your pictures. I guess I'm still an 80s man.

KAF4 support for K-5 and K-5II series

Older lenses will be cheaper but the kAF4 lenses have much much better AF due to the PLM motor. If you've seen the demo in one of the threads here, you'd be willing to let go of your old lenses and get the new ones. One solution would be accept orders of lenses with PLM motors using kAF3 mount. But that would be too costly to maintain 2 sets of mount.

I agree with you C_Jones regarding the k-5IIs and the k-3II. As I have stated in the other threads, the k-5 series is hard to beat. I have the k-3II and the k-5II and I have the same observations when it comes to image quality. However, it doesn't have an update for the kAF4 mount. Without the update, the user will be limited to older lenses. I don't know but, I went into Pentax because of the k-mount's backwards and forward integration. But the move to kAF4 has limited the the k-5 series' access to future lenses. I'm still hoping for an update as I would like have the new 55-300 and other lenses having the kAF4 mount. I hope Pentax will give it.

Oh boy, I would really mess things up if I were to assemble my own camera. Probably I'll have a couple of screws missing, probably an inverted focusing screen and I don't know what next. But you guys are right. The mods should kill this thread before sentiments and arguments come in.

The k-1 AF tracking must be good. I still have to have a lot of practice on my k-3II. ;)
