Thanks. I got a helpful reply. I paid $105 for it and have suggested a $25 refund and then I'll just stick with AAs. The camera should arrive with an OEM battery so I'll just use that as a spare for my second body. Two Kiiis. Aren't I fancy?!

Well, not really. I am wondering how long 6AA batteries last compared to one OEM battery. I'm thinking these might give me more shooting time... amazon.com: Panasonic BK-3HCCA12FA eneloop Pro AA High Capacity Ni-MH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries, 12 Pack: Electronics?tag=pentaxforums-20&

Hi all, I just bought a use D-BG6 from ebay and it arrived with only the AA battery drawer. The OEM one is missing. I don't mind too much and am willing to use AA IF the life is comparable. I use Eneloop rechargeable on all my flashes and so on and could just buy a load more of those. What do you think? Should I kick up a stink with the seller or just stuff a load of rechargeables in?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Phil

PS my pics show what I got and what I wish I got (from my second body and hence second grip!

Item for Sale
Pentax DA 35mm f/2.4 AL

Asking Price
75.00 USD OBO

Item Location
Bellingham (United States)

Item Description
Not much to say about this lens except that it is lovely. I haven't used it too much just because it overlaps rather with other lenses but it's a lovely standard lens for APSc users. I'm going full frame only so I'm selling a bunch of my gear as my bag is too heavy to keep having a K1ii and all the lenses as well as a K3ii and all IT'S lenses too!

Please feel free to ask any questions. Comes with the front and rear caps and a UV filter that has always been on the lens since the day I bought it new. There are some minor blemishes on the UV filter and on the back of the lens where it mounts to the camera but nothing much and optically it is impeccable.

Asking Price

Item Description
I love this lens. Bought new in Aug 2018 it has served me well but I am going full frame so it must be sold. So sharp, so nice. I had the Pentax equivalent but it seemed really soft so I got this and it is way better. Fills all your 24-75mm equivalent needs with this good as new lens. I'm throwing in a second lens cap and UV filter as well as back cap, of course. Comes with the box, all original paperwork and the bag which I have never used and has been safely kept in the box.

I bought this but I haven't really had a lot of uses for it as it doesn't really fit my style of photography, sadly. Also, it is only good for APSC and I'm going full full frame! It has been used perhaps 4 times and it is in mint condition in the box with the wee bag that comes with it.

Please ask any questions.

Asking Price

Item Description
This has been my workhorse for may years and I love it but I'm going full frame and trying to get a second K1 so I'm selling my old friend here. Comes with OEM battery grip, AA battery holder, OEM battery, body cap, box and manual for the grip (I seem to have lost the box for the camera), third party charger (that I prefer to the original and two 32gb cards. Why not? You will need to get a strap as I want to keep mine!
Please note the gunk around the screen. I wanted to add a loupe and the mount had to be stuck there and it didn't stick so I super glued it (cos I'm a moron). It looks a little crummy but it doesn't affect the view at all.

I think that's about it but feel free to ask any questions.

I LOVE this lens but I am trying to get the money together to go fully full frame. I will be Philly Fully Full Frame! I have had this lens around three years and it is just a corker. Pin sharp, silent, fast focusing.

I see that prices range from $599 to $1,149 on Amazon for used and $1,299 for new so I think $800 for this is a good price since it is optically perfect. The tripod mount has a few small scratches as does the free UV filter I'm throwing in. It has a hood and the tripod mount is removable.

Item for Sale
Pentax K5ii with OEM battery grip

Asking Price
500.00 USD

Item Location
Bellingham (United States)

Item Description
My old workhorse. What a great camera! I used it as a first camera for weddings with my K5ii as second camera. I then put the K-3ii and use this is the second camera. This was a great combination for weddings. I now have the K-1ii and use the K-3ii is my second camera.

Please look at all the photographs I'm attaching to be sure that this is what you're looking for. Please note that the battery grip is OEM.This camera does not have a lot of actuations (15,510) but this was only becaue the K3 and K3ii came out pretty soon after this one and so the K5ii got relegated to back up camera. I am the original owner. It has never been dropped. Included in the box is-

The camera with a body cap.
The charger and cable for the charger.
One battery (not OEM but in very good condition and lasts well).
OEM Battery grip with drawer for battery.
Manual, CD et cetera.

Pentax DA* 50-135 f2.8 Recently repaired and refurbished.

Asking Price
500.00 USD

Item Location

Item Description
This lens has not been used since it was repaired, fully refurbished and cleaned. This was done in February of this year but, due to the pandemic, I'm only now getting around to selling it. It has sat on a shelf and not used other than to confirm it is in full working order since it was returned. I can send the original hood but it has some kind of an issue where it does not lock on any more and so I have purchased a new hood. I'm also including a UV filter. It also has front and back caps. Please ask if you have any questions. The only reason I'm selling is I got the K1ii so I'm saving up for a FF longer zoom.

I took a few test shots of the lens (with my phone) and a few with the lens and I'm attaching those. Also a copy of the receipt for repair.

Hi all, I did a shoot today. Can you take a look at this footage? This has happened once or twice before but I can't seem to make it happen reliably and I am wondering what is causing it.
Dropbox - IMGP9664.MOV

So the camera is a K3ii with the 100mm Macro on it. It is locked off on a tripod and has the Movie SR on. Watch as hi walks down the hall. The entire image goes up and down to keep his body in the same position so the light switch bounces up and down. Is this due to my failing to turn off the SR? I tried to reproduce it at home but it didn't happen and this is the only shot it has done it on on the whole shoot. Can anyone identify the reason?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Pentax 16-50 f2.8 woes

Hi there. I did the test where I change the Micro Focus whilst shooting a flat test piece and I uploaded the images here

Micro Focus Tests - philrosephoto

I have also uploaded one image from yesterday shoot which seems soft to me. Today I volunteer as I do every Wednesday at the local Humane Society where I Photograph cats. I will take both the 16 to 50 and the 16-45 and do some with one and some with the other. This will be a baptism of fire since cats in boxes are notoriously difficult subjects! I will let you know when I have added the results to the same folder and you can tell me if I am being a pixel peeper. It seems like perhaps the best bit of advice I've had is that I just need to take lots of photographs and hope one of them comes out in focus which is clearly not ideal. This doesn't seem to happen and anything over about 3 feet, by the way.

Oh, the photograph taken 16-45 had no micro-adjustment. I have never found I needed to use that feature. Somebody asked whether maybe my focus point was slightly off but since no other lens has this problem I'm assuming that that can't be the case? It can't be that the focus point is off for one lens and not for others, could it? The fact that it seems to do a very good job focusing on flat subjects does kind of suggest that that could be the case. What do others think? Would it be possible for the focus point be off for one lens and not for others? I usually shoot spot or customisable spot (is that the correct name?) And don't find Pentax is very good on multipoint focusing so pretty much never use that.

Thanks again to everyone to sticking with me on this.

Phil

Hi all, I just bought a used lens (16-50) on ebay and I'm finding I have some focusing issues. It seems to frequently (though not always) focus just a little behind where it looks like it s focusing. This is only in AF mode. It seems worse on people and leaves and better on highly textures objects. I have had an f4 version of the same lens for 10 years or more and I never saw this issue. Is this something others have seen? Is it just that at 50mm and 2.8 it's hard for a lens to be accurate? Surely it's not too much to ask!

Should I return this as having problems?

Update I did return this and have had it replaced and finding the same problem. I did a location portraiture shoot this afternoon and focusing on the guys eyes at f2.8 to get a nice shallow depth of field and 50 mm and about 3 feet distance is focusing not on his eyes but slightly behind his eyes by the look of it. I have tried playing with the fine focusing adjustment on the camera to no avail.

Can anyone help?

Hi all, I have a friend who uses a Canon 5D and a Pocket Wizard with a particular lead and can use this setup to trip the shutter from a distance with a second Pocket Wizard. Do you know if this is possible with a Pentax K-3? If so what lead would I need to get?

Thanks a lot for any help.

OK. I'm seeing now that, in a response to a question about this competition one admin DID say that people had to be registered before 06/04 to vote. This is a little bit of an odd place to put such important information and it is a shame that that was not made clearer upfront but as such I shall accept my fate if I am bumped out of the running so long as that rule is applied across the board.

---------- Post added 07-02-2014 at 09:44 PM ----------

That is the reason that I don't normally join these competitions. They seem more like a competition to see who has the most friends on Social Media! Ah well, let the chips fall where they may.
