Valuable information.

Is this applicable to weather sealed lenses too?

Like you said I like the first image, it gives that extra pop and when you print, it might look even better - my preference tho (I am just a casual family photographer)

Cheers.

Wow lot of good valuable information.

I don't know if the lenses I have is worth that much to buy dry cabinet.

I live in Orange County, California, where Humidity is not an issue, whole year it is pretty dry, we hardly get rain here, I have to workout really hard in a no air circulation room to even see some sweat on me lol.

For me dust is the main problem.

I might then use a different cabinet made of particle board (not sure if it is the right term) or use plain old book shelf. CA = Earth Quake, that's another issue with open book shelves.

I will try to post some pics of the cabinets, may be that will help.

Thanks.

We recently remodeled the home and we have a spare Solid wood Night Stand with a draw and a cupboard with shelves. Didn't want to throw it away. So thinking of clearing some space in the walk-in closet and use the Night Stand as Lens Storage.

Right now I have my extra lenses in Neoprene DSLR Lens Soft pouch stored in card board box along with other computer hardware (not like thrown everything inside, kept arranged properly, every time I need something I take it out pretty carefully and arrange things back again).

I have 2 camera bags which has my most used lenses.

So is it OK to keep the extra lenses in the solid wood night stand? I will have enough space to keep Flashes and other camera related small accessories too inside.

Thanks.

I was using the K-50 with AA adapter for a while and it finally stopped working too.

$206 for repair is rip off.

Get this instead.

AA adapter is temporary fix, eventually the issue will come back. Best is to replace with White Solenoid.

Some of us (including myself) have done this solenoid swap, it's neither super easy nor hard. I took a chance and it came out well.

Other option is to use the new 55-300 PLM lens that doesn't need the aperture lever, the lens has some kind of built in diaphragm (somebody who has better knowledge than me can explain better). Use the K50 + 55-300 PLM and get the newer K70 and be done. Throwing $150 at a camera which doesn't have that much used market price is not worth it (in my opinion).

DA 35mm F2.4 - advice about lens hood & step-up ring

amazon.com : BestDealUSA FOTGA 49mm Screw Mount Standard Metal Lens Hood for Canon Nikon Pentax Sony : Camera Lens Hoods : Camera & Photo?tag=pentaxforums-20&

This is what I use on my F35-70 and DA 50 F1.8 (bought 49mm and 52mm version, going to buy one more, 58mm version for my F35-135).

Only problem with this hood is you need to use one size bigger lens cap. 52mm lens cap will fit the 49mm lens hood. If you use a 49mm lens cap on the 49mm hood, the cap kind of goes in and gets semi stuck.

Hope this helps.

Check out this video, Chris has done good analysis of JPEGs from different cameras. His conclusion, Pentax JPEGs are not that accurate, but RAW is where Pentax shines.

You Tube

Usually Photoshop corrects colors for me and I find it pleasing. When more serious editing needed on special occasion photos I process from RAW files. RAW files eats HDDs for breakfast!!

I find K3 produces more accurate colors with JPEGs, I find not needing to use Photoshop much for correction.

Edit: Yeah I went back and checked the pics OP posted, what happened to Yellow, Green and Blue?

Video is not relevant to this discussion, but is interesting to watch.

Buy from this guy, this Guy is Packing 'God'. My K7 camera package that I bought came in a big box well packed with enough bubble wrap and peanuts (not the one that we can enjoy with beer).

I wish I had more money to buy this Sigma too.

You can go to Samy's Camera and try out the display model. They even allow you to use your memory card take some pics, which you can load it on your PC and check. They won't allow you to take it out tho.

I tried out the K3 II at the store, liked it but later found a good deal on a used K3, so settled on that.

Other option is to rent the camera from them or other online rental places.

Good Luck.
