Not getting out a lot so I've been shooting the view from my apartment using the SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/1.4 manual lens. Really like this lens, very sharp and contrasty.

Yeah, that happened first thing this morning, and then I remembered I turned it on last night. And while I was frantically cycling through settings trying to figure out how to turn it off, I accidentally changed the white balance setting so everything I shot today (on a 2-second delay) came out blue.

My sympathies. I've had the K-3 for six years and I shot a lot at night on the tripod and always used the 2-second timer, but man, I just completely blanked.

I'm suffering a massive brain glitch. I turned the self-timer on in my K-1 II to shoot a long exposure and now I can't figure out how to turn it off. I've used it a million times on the K-3 but now I can't turn it off on that camera either. I feel like I had a lobotomy. Thanks!

Kayama first came to fame playing surf music in the 60s, including covers of the Ventures and Dick Dale along with his original stuff. It's a beautiful guitar.

Thanks, I appreciate it. World's smallest fox with the biggest fox ears. Sort of like elephant ears in that they radiate heat and help cool the little critter down in the desert, as well as making it look unbearably cute.

The zoo is my default solution to not getting out and shooting enough. The lion and the fox are through glass, the zebra and the pelican were just out and about in their respective spaces. All are with the DA 55-300 WR. Overall I was pretty happy with the performance of the lens, which I don't use that much. I'm also happy that the shake reduction in the K-3 is so good because I'm a bit unsteady hand-held at 300mm.

Couple more from January in Tokyo, both with the DA 18-135. The first is from the cemetery where the last Shogun of Japan is buried, the second is a street in an old shopping district not far from the cemetery.

Still going through Tokyo pics from January. I took four lenses and ended up using the 18-135 all but exclusively. The first two shots are from Yanaka Cemetery, where the last Shogun is buried, and the other one is a delightful young-at-heart shopkeeper in Yanaka Ginza, an old shopping district not far from the cemetery.

I lean toward leaving the branches in but they do seem sort of overbearing to me. Please forgive me for messing with the image--I did a very rough edit to remove the branches in the one instance, which leaves a lot of empty space, and another to partially remove them so they're not sitting directly above the manor. Again, forgive me for taking liberties with it. It's a fine shot as is.

I was in Tokyo in January and wound up using the 18-135mm almost exclusively. I brought a Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 that I wished I'd used on the street at night a few times for the larger aperture, but the range of the 18-135 made it the best option when I was just wandering around not knowing what I was going to shoot, which was most of the time.

Unintentionally. I meant to take some wide shots with the slow Sigma 10-20 but it started to rain so off it came and back on came the 18-135.
