Thank you all for the replies.

Just thought I would throw in a portrait with the lens, taken at F2.8. Excuse the subject, she is the only willing one I have.

cheers

Hi,

I bought one of the subject lens today for a might price of $20 from a local op shop. When I got home I decided to do some research as it was a impulse buy. Well just about everything I read made me feel like I has wasted my $20. But I went ahead and gave it a go anyways. The lens is nice and solid all metal with a really nice chunky and grippy focus ring, it weighs in at 450g and sits really nicely on my K30.

Now I am no lens expert but I think I will be keeping this one.

Cheers

Hello,

I thought I would drag out my old manual 80-200mm lens and give it a dust off. Not bad, has those great Pentax colours and tones. Can be a little bit iffy when not used on a tripod simply because of the length, the weight is pretty good and it feels pretty good on the K30.

Here are a couple of shots, taken at f11 at pretty close to the 200mm mark.

Cheers

Hi,

I have just received one of these that I just bought at that price, must have a good stock of them still. Very nice, solid with a great feel. The zoom ring and focus ring are really nice and it sits great in my hand when on my K30. I am looking forward to getting out and having a proper go with this lens. In the meantime here are a couple of quick shots from around my neighbourhood, just basic adjustments in ACR and no sharpening applied. I was pleasantly surprised at how close you can focus at the 60mm end.

Cheers

Black & White A Old Wagon

Hi, I recently acquired a Pentax F 35-70mm and am really enjoying the quality of the images that it is producing.

My family and I spent the weekend in Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia. We were going to be seeing the Stones in concert but to our dismay they cancelled, apparently Mick had a sore throat. We decided to still enjoy what we could of the weekend and I took the opportunity to get some shots in.

This is one of a old wagon that was outside of the place where we were staying, which was a old coach house that has been converted into a bed and breakfast type accommodation, a beautiful old place. Anyways this one has stood out to me as I feel it has a sort of 3D look to it. I processed in PS and did a B&W conversion using Nik Silver Effects.

I am still working through the rest of my images and hopefully I have some more good ones.

Cheers

Thank you for the reply Steve and thank you for the tips with regards to focus, that will come in handy.

I am happy with the lens so that is the most important thing, now I just have to wait for the moon to get back to being new so I can try some star photos

Cheers

Hello,

I have recently bought a Sigma 15mm fisheye and was after some help. I have not been able to find the same model as the one I have anywhere or any information or reviews.

The one I have is not a EX or EX DG model. It has the A setting for aperature but everything else is manual.

Just wondering if anyone know any history of this lens and shed some light as to how old it may be. It is in excellent condition. I have attached a photo. Any help is appreciated.

Regards

Jason

Hi all,

I have had my GR for a couple of weeks now and am so very much impressed with it. I have run it through most of its paces in comparison to what I was doing with my K30. I have to say I think the high ISO capabilities are better with the GR. The only area where it can not compare it with true macro but that was to be expected. Anyways my final comparison was with something that a good mate and myself like to get out and do and that is spinning burning steel wool. The look on my mates face when I rocked up with the GR on my tripod was priceless, he is a massive Nikon FF man. I think the end results speak for themselves, my bud was more than impressed.

Cheers

Hello,

I am a new Ricoh GR owner and new to Pentax Forums, although I have haunted this site a lot for information gathering when I bought my K-30 and for various lens.

I am loving the GR but have a question I am unable to find a answer for, no matter how I put the question into Google. I have a icon showing on the screen and cannot find what it means. It is my fervent hope that someone here will see this and be able to give me a answer. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have circled the curious icon in red in the photo.

Cheers
