Is the 02 Lens Getting a bad rep?

Maybe we got bad copies because I agree 100%. I will go a step further and say it is the worst lens I have ever purchased on any platform. I didn't realize it until I got an 01.

I haven't bought a lens in a couple of years and this would be perfect. For that price I need it to outperform the Sigma 17-70.

All '53s were white/red. Starting in '54 you could get blue, red, black, and white.

Good news. I haven't used my Q much because I only have the 02 lens which I despise. Looking forward to getting the 01 prime.

In addition to the 35mm being faster, both the Nikor 35 & 50 are much higher build quality IMO.

I'm pretty confident that DRTV would agree with you. I say this with all due respect doc, but I think you are missing the point or at least the humor.

Despite what anyone thinks of DRTV (I happen to really like it and find it entertaining), they are by far and away the largest photog YouTube channel and provide tremendous exposure.

WRX stands for World Rallycross.

My buddy had an '04 STi before the kids came around and it was one of the best cars I have ever driven. Slot car shot out of a canon. His brother has a bugeye wagon that sees rallycross duty several times a year. Great cars and congrats!

I think either the Sigma or Tamron 70-200 f2.8 would fit the bill well for those two types of photography.

Later cars, including this Shadow which I had only seen in books, used a twin turbo charged version of the same engine producing 1200 hp. I was born during the wrong age.

See the circle of buttons on the back, hit the one on the right. Scroll through your options of either single, continuous, or timing shooting.

Thanks to all involved for putting this together. Also, thank you for inquiring about the 01 prime... I think I've beaten that dead horse enough.

I know that is a joke, but if it is sitting still, yes, yes it would. They put tennis balls in there between sessions to keep anything falling in.

Thanks!

Most of these were taken at 1/100 or 1/125 sec. The exception being the second shot of the MG which was 1/80 sec. The slower the shutter speed, the better and you can drop the shutter speed at longer focal lengths. How fast the cars are moving is a variable but typically, the less the front of the lens moves, the lower the exposure can be.

I usually try to keep the aperture as high as possible to get as much of the car in focus. Most of these were taken at f/16. If I am shooting an open top car and doing a tight focus on the driver's helmet, I will shoot wide open.

Lastly, turn the shake reduction off when panning.

The Mitty (formerly The Walter Mitty Challenge) has grown to be the second largest historic motorsport event in the country after Monterey. Over 450 cars raced over the weekend. MG was the featured marque this year. We had a few weather challenges this year but it was still a great event.

This Shadow was sooooooo cool
