Stupid Question - How do I enable MANUAL LENSES on my new K-1?
I have shot Pentax for a decade. I shoot a lot of manual lenses. Had/Have a K-20, K-7, K-5, and now a new a K-1.
I shot manual on all my other PKs, but I can't figure out the setting to shoot manual lenses with a new K-1 FF.
I looked at the manual, Googled, went through the settings several times, etc... can't find the simple answer.
I know it's an easy setting, I just can't find it.
HELP!

I just ordered my Pentax K-1 FF.
Does it have any (Built-in Digital) Art Filters? Like the K5, etc.?
I can't find info on any Art Filters, if it does have any...

I have not found their email addresses yet... I just see a lot of people in the threads thanking Eric, but I haven't found his contact info.
Please post their contact info.

LENSES NEEDING REPAIR:
1)
Pentax 31mm Limited f/1.8 (literally falling apart, tiny screws have come out - I never disassembled it, so small internal parts broke from inside)
(CAUSE OF DAMAGE: novice force-turned focus while auto focus was engaged.)
2)
Pentax 77mm Limited f/1.8 (auto focus can't properly turn lens structure, might be misaligned internally)
(CAUSE OF DAMAGE: Falling to concrete.)
3)
Pentax 18-250mm DA (took a fall, lens-creep lock mechanism missing, a few small internal parts from that area missing concerning zoom/focus)
(CAUSE OF DAMAGE: Falling to concrete.)
4)
Tokina Pro 80-200mm f/2.8 (Pentax K-mount) (auto focus jammed, can manually turn a little - all metal case - might be slighted dented or simply misaligned internally)
(CAUSE OF DAMAGE: Falling to concrete.)

Lens Repair: Know a good repairman/company?
I have several lenses that need serious repair. Some are literally falling apart.
In one instance, sadly, I was on a shoot, and careless people knocked me to the ground, and my lenses hit concrete.
In another instance, a careless friend and novice turned the focus ring while the auto-focus was engaged.
And most sad, 2 of them are Limited lenses!
Pentax 31mm Limited (literally falling apart)
Pentax 77mm Limited (auto focus can't properly turn lens structure, might be misaligned internally)
Pentax 18-250mm (took a fall, lens-creep lock mechanism missing, a few small internal parts from that area missing concerning zoom/focus)
Tokina Pro 80-200 (auto focus jammed, can manually turn a little - all metal case - might be slighted dented or simply misaligned internally)

I was just happy (in that sick way) to find out I wasn't the only one that had a bum release button. I told everyone it was a "security feature" and only I had the key!

Mine fell off a few months ago... I was not so lucky in repairs... out of warranty... I thought I was lucky enough to find the little button... I tried superglue... but it got glued in and wouldn't move! Then I had to chisel it back out with a hammer and chisel! And use nails and paper clips to change lenses!

You can read reviews and features online about this camera. Next to the P7100, this is the BEST camera Nikon makes of this type. Generally (next to the P7100) it is considered their flagship model, and a pro-sumer pocket-able/back-up/side-kick camera for professionals who also use DSLRs or don't want to carry their DSLR.
The GREAT thing about this camera, is it is one of the few that will take an EXTERNAL MICROPHONE, such as the RODE VIDEO MIC! This greatly improves sound, and allows for wind-muffs, and even wireless lapels! I have used the RODE mics, and they work perfect and get great sound, and fit nicely!
IT SHOOTS HD 720!
Shoots RAW+JPG!
It has great, rich colors.
Has other features such as 3! owner/custom settings memory on the dial, simultaneous B+W + color shooting, multiple size ratios, etc.
It has lots of and all the professional controls and dials you need.
Just a top-notch camera. Please read reviews and features.
Mine comes in great shape, with all boxes and manuals, etc.
PLUS:
Vintage-style leather-ette case that really gives it that great 1970s pro look! Brown color, with top and bottom, fits perfect, and can still accept a tripod mount! It really makes this p7000 stand out!
3 Batteries
2 Chargers
Anything else I can find that goes with it.
I bought tons of extra for it to really deck it out.
I will also trade for a good K-mount/Screw-Mount lens of equal value.
(*Please note: photos are from internet, but you get exactly what you see here, in excellent shape... except for RODE mic/light/brace set-up of course! You do get the wonderful brown leather case! I'm finding you might be right! Almost all the other ones got terrible reviews.
My DA 18-250 was normal quality, not a dud copy... like I said, I gave it a 8/10. I was just frustrated with it, cuz it was never sharp, never full featured, and just as good (without totally pixel peeping) as a bridge camera mega-zoom. I just never said "wow!"
As I research, it seems there is no ultimate all-in-one lens, and that Pentax/Tamron version may actually be the best.
I'm leaning towards getting a high-end 2012 BRIDGE camera instead.

It seems the ultra-broad zoom range is still too much of a challenge for DSLR lenses? I wonder if I am better off going back to the compact/consumer BRIDGE camera for a broad-zoom, because for the same price, I can get a high-end consumer 24mm-840mm (equiv) BRIDGE camera, that serves as the lens and EXTRA body, and gives an extra 500mm of reach. It seems the aperture is so small on both the DSLR lens and consumer BRIDGE camera, that the bokeh is not affected, and the DSLR images are a bit soft, so they are probably on par with a top-end consumer mega-zoom BRIDGE.
I can have my Pentax DSLR and */LTD/FA/Tak lenses for normal use, and my consumer BRIDGE mega-zoom SANYFUJICANIKON for the all-in-one zoom.
Opinions on that idea?

I did a review of my 18-250 on here and I gave it an "8"... so that is average (sucked is too strong). Yes, I have tons of FA* and LTDs, so compared to them, I am unhappy with the DA 18-250. But that was also my very 1st and only Pentax lens for about a year, after upgrading from compacts... I got a K20D and the DA 18-250 back in the day... and even then I was like, "This is a DSLR? The IQ and sharpness sucks!" And that was $1200 compared to my usual $300 compact mega-zoom. (Again, sucks is too strong a word... but I was just very unhappy, and resorted to mostly primes, LTDs, and *s. Yes, I agree the DA 18-250 is a good "8/10 score" and that broad a zoom range IS A COMPROMISE.) But that being said, I am again looking for an all-in-one zoom... and was curious if they got any better, and which one I should get.

NEED HELP! What's the Best Wide-to-Telephoto All-Around Zoom? (Like 18/28mm-200/300mm) or should I wait?
I used to have the Pentax DA 18-250. It sucked. SUCKED! Soft images. I was better off buying a Compact Super-Zoom consumer camera for the same price or less.
I want something better. There are Sigma and Tamron options. What is the best? It can start at 18-28 or so, and end in 200-300 or so.
I'm looking for the best image quality for an all-in-one wide-to-telephoto zoom. (Yes, I know 28mm becomes 42mm on APS-C, that's fine with me.)
Also, I see many of these are being discontinued! Does that mean NEW versions are coming out? Does anyone know? Should I just wait for these phantom new ones? Some models (like the Pentax) have been discontinued for years with no replacement yet.
Thanks!!!
