My worst subject to photograph is people.

If you are not shooting candids, even with friends and family, most people probably need to become comfortable posing in front of the camera, especially those who are not used to posing. I usually use first 30 min to an hour to break the ice, let them adjust to me behind camera, rather than camera. Compliments work great, throw few jokes to get them loosen up. Then they are more likely be more natural, and reactive toward your directions and suggestions. Make sure you are communicating all throughout the shoot, not documenting.

KS2 for Street Photography

Flip screen will make it versatile camera for street, macro and even portraits (er...including 'selfies'). Shutter noise won't be silent, as Marktax mentioned.. but on busy street, my k-50 was fairly inaudible anyway... I don't see much to worry about. :)

https://www.lenstag.com/

This is their website, basically they provide database for camera equipment with serial #. I've heard a case (or two) that it located the lost equipment to original owner... so giving it a try won't hurt.

They keep stolen gear list on the web, public (not disclosing the owner, but serial #) so you could also check if you are getting stolen gear from pawnshops or used camera shops...

Verification process usually require mobile photo upload of actual gear, but this case I think you probably can contact them directly and probably explain situation.

perhaps it will be also good idea to let them contact Lenstag, so the equipment will be listed in its database and flagged when spotted or someone trying to register it as theirs?

By the rate IR is posting stuff up these days, I'm sure it'll get updated soon. I wonder if Dpreview will even spend time with K-S2, as their RW sample shots are getting better, but their interval posting of reviews rather feels slow nowadays...

I haven't got a chance to shift through thoroughly myself, but I liked what I saw with few glances. I can't wait to try it on hand in a shop... hopefully local store around me would start stock them (unlike K-S1 which was much ignored throughout)

Chromatic Aberration or Fringing?
Posted By dyoon153

I think it's because photo is out of focus at f2.8. You probably shot at the close proximity of the bike (I see you used widest end zoom), so focus pane is very narrow, and out of focus metal reflection probably causes that fringe...

Poll: How much would you pay for the FF body only?
Posted By dyoon153

To precisely put it... It depends on spec and feature it comes with...
I'm willing to pay for
$1800~2399 for entry / enthusiast FF (if such things come to exist...)
$2400 or more (my budget would be 3000ish) for Advanced / Flagship Professional FF

I don't expect Flagship feature on budget price for first generation Pentax FF DSLR, so I voted for 2400~2999.

K-3 vs K-S2 vs K-50

I believe only flagship DSLRs get grips for Pentax... K-S2 is obviously not being marketed as 'flagship'. I'm guessing coming FF will feature one definitely.

The perfect hand strap

JOBY UltraFit Hand Strap with UltraPlate: Camera Strap + Baseplate

Joby makes good handstrap that's been on my K-5ii forever. Err...but it's not like what OP described though :P.
Plate that attaches the strap also works as arca-swiss type tripod mount plate, which is neat feature not common among others.

PeakDesign Clutch, which Yos mentioned, is another one i'm waiting to try as soon as I get my second body.

** Edit: Woops ZoeB beat me to it lol

SMC DA 50mm lens - lens hood?

I actually prefer slightly washed photo so that I can work colour on post..

There could be multiple factors.. what kit lens do you have, and what format (JPEG / RAW) and setting (if JPEG) are you using?

I have DA 35mm, 50mm, and 18-135mm and never found them too far off to be concerned to each other...

K-5ii/s also had 11 points, same as K-S1... so it wasn't 'crippling' but more like using old tech on K-S1 to differentiate K-3 as top of the line advanced DSLR with 27 AF points.
I wouldn't be surprised if K-S2 still has 11 AF points, but yes, more the better.

I think so, but not from scratch. They might start out from previously discontinued FA zooms, updating glasses to current coating, WR, etc.

I'm kind of hoping it is not the replacement of K-50, and I don't think we've seen/heard enough from Ricoh/Pentax yet about K-XX line is done for good.

FA Limited Lenses in Weather?

I don't have FA limiteds, but when I have non-WR lens on my K-5ii on rainy days, I pack couple large zip-lock bags with bunch of elastics. Its cheap solution, but haven't yet had problem even in heavy downpours.

I agree with Docrwm.

See Nikon and Canon lines of DSLR and we can discuss again. :)

In short, no, K-3 probably won't be the last of the adv APS-C.

Well, AFAIK, K-500, and K-S1, both not weather sealed, was released with non WR DA-L lenses... they wouldn't kit WR lens with non-WR body.

I'm hoping that successor of K-3'll be released in 2 year cycle... K-3 was released in 2013 november, so this might be a year they'd release or at least announce... but if Ricoh chooses to go all in with FF first, I'm fine with that, too.

If you are thinking for reasons to buy it, i think you don't need it that much. :)
Grip's still good addition, longer shooting time and better ergo... also weight and bulk.
