I have been tracking this for , I think, at least a year - as far as I know it has not been released; so as Ron has flagged up it's surprising that a camera that has never been available should make the list and it undermines all the other cameras included given how poorly researched the article is.

Got one a wee while ago with a stuck mirror (easily fixed) and enjoyed using it except when I 'chimped' and tried to look at my results on the non existent rear screen

I have to say you may be a bit unfair, if jch is having a number of repairs carried out then the problems experienced may run deeper than handling or familiarity issues

Like this shot, especially the out of focus background. Were you using a reflector or was the straw acting as a reflector?

I really like these; the first one, in particular, is a lovely natural looking portrait. With the third one I'm afraid I prefer the shots that include the hair fully but in cropping tight you have given the picture a lot of impact so my preference might have been less impressive.
Your sister makes a striking model.

50mm f1.2 autofocus lens

Thanks for the replies, I doubt if I could ever afford such a lens but I was curious given there was a manual focus version back in the analog days and so many new zooms seem to be coming out with wider than before apertures

Is there a reason why a 50mm f1.2 has never been produced as an autofocus lens, even though Pentax produced the A 50mm f1.2 manual focus lens?

K-1 video quality: why?

I have used my Pentax K-r for video and found it quite acceptable and I use a separate HD camcorder most times for video. I also occasionally use a Nikon J1 for video; again with acceptable results (plus the J1 continues to focus during the shot whereas the K-r doesn't autofocus during the shot).
As said above use a tripod; my K-30 with SR on has produced stabilised footage that is fairly obvious and not in a good way.
If you are shooting video of a lengthy event then a HD camcorder is probably still the way to go at the equipment level I operate at - it avoids overheating problems, is a lot easier to operate and has the advantage of a mic and headphones socket allowing me to use a Rode Videomic instead of the tinnier onboard mic. That said the dSLR footage has a more 'film-like' look.

thanks for that, it strangely reminds of the zig zag pier at St Monans; where it's unnecessarily complicated but an interesting feature

Tamron Adaptall 2 and pentax m42 es

I bit the bullet and got a Tamron ES adaptor (sorry tr1ckyn1ck I forgot your offer when I saw the adaptor). I have popped this onto a 24mm AD2 f2.5 (01BB) and it all seems to work ok however when I tried this on a Tamron 90mm f2.5 SP (52B) I can only turn the aperture ring between f2.5 and f4.
The 90mm fits ok onto the pentax k adaptor however, so I'm wondering if there are differences between the AD2 and SP lenses that means the ES adaptor won't work correctly on an SP lens?

Spotmatic battery options?

I have found the wein cells have very short lives too. I'm sure I saw a comment on the forum in the past that some Spotmatics had circuitry (bridge?) that allow modern batteries to correctly work with modern rather than mercury batteries. Hopefully someone will confirm if my understanding is correct

Back in the days of super 8 movie cameras, the golden rule with a zoom lens was focus at telephoto (where the focus is more critical) then zoom back to frame. Does this method work with your lens?
