Agree with previous comments. #2 is certainly the pick of the bunch. The water trails are long enough to provide the sense of flow yet retain some detail.

100% agree.

I installed this DCU once. I could not get it to edit even a jpeg file let alone RAW. Installed Lightroom and never looked back.

One of my all time favourites. Heavily processed from a rather dull RAW image.

Thanks for all the comments.

I am still in two minds about cloning the power lines. Here is a version with the power lines taken out using content aware feature in Photoshop.

Photoshop if all else fails

Shot through a mesh fence. A little bit that did not work too well. If I revisit this image I bet I can fix it better.

I bought mine as a demo model from CR Kennedy the Australian Pentax Distributor. After 12 months or so, I had an issue with the SDM and they replaced the whole lens under warranty. The replacement lens has been faultless. I repeat the original was a shop demo and who knows how much rough handling it had.

If I needed another one I would have no hesitation in jumping on this.

Yes I too see the green tinge, it is there in the RAW image. Adjustment to the green slider in Lightroom HSL made no difference. An adjustment to the camera calibration in Lightroom seems to help a bit.

I trust this is better. Thanks for your suggestion.

Normally I would take them out but The thought of getting rid of the power pole through the tree branches made me think twice.

Good points. I am also on a tight budget these days so I have not bought much for several years. A new K-7 when they were released and a used K-5iis plus a reasonable collection of mostly used lenses. As a general principal on most purchases I decide what I can afford that will suit my needs and then stretch the budget a little to go one level higher. My two older bodies will do quite well for sometime yet. K-7 has 65,000 actuations and the K-5iis has 35,000. Still some life in them yet.

I hate power lines and as much as anybody in landscape but is it worth the trouble in cloning these out. A couple of wind turbines also in the mix.

Wow. clouds to die for. Is it possible to tone down the yellow above the horizon just a little. I find it a touch too bright. Otherwise very good.

Looks good to me I like the gloomy atmosphere. No major faults in my opinion apart from a dust spot about half way up on the right side. No shame in cropping by the way.

Leans to the former I think. I will get really picky and point out a small white dot on right hand side about 1/2 way up that needs to go and I would also clone out balcony poking in from the left and also a street lamp poking in from the left.

I will be greedy. I prefer the darker sky with the darker rocks. What detail there is in the rocks does not come up very well. Perhaps crop the bottom off a little

Something like this perhaps?

Nice photo great colours. If I was to do anything with this I would crop off a little at the bottom removing some of those little sticks. Turning it into more of a panoramic look. Perhaps a little with noise and spot removal but nothing dramatic.

Two views of a small break in heavy overcast just after sunset. The entire patch of colour was almost entirely covered in the second of the two images. A nice reward for an hours walk staring at a fully overcast sky. I believe the red colours are from recent bushfire smoke.

My suggestion is to get one with an In Plane Switching "IPS" panel for superior viewing angles. Aside from that brand and dimensions are a personal preference. Then it should be calibrated for photographic work.
