Thank you very much Rod, glad you enjoyed it! :) About shutter speed, I have no "general" or "personal" preferences, I tend to use whatever shutter speed I feel renders a scene as I want to interpret it... in this case, 6 seconds worked well for me, to keep shape in the clouds and textures in the water while transforming some of the white foam in lines that helped my composition to look like I wanted it to look, guiding the eye around the frame. As you said, it is great that we all have different ways to do things, and create different interpretations of one same scene at any given time, were we both there to photograph it together. That's what makes photography such an amazing artistic pursuit! :)

Vieri

Thank you very much indeed Rod, glad you enjoyed them both! :) My wife (and assistant) and I would LOVE to come to Australia, in fact we have been planning to do a tour in AU and NZ, 2-3 months total, for quite a while now - then Covid-19 happened, so I am not sure when we'll be able to do so. Btw, I knew Ken Duncan's work, thank you for the tip!

Thank you very much for your comment, much appreciated :) While fortune can help, if one would rely on fortune alone to do this job, one would be sorely disappointed - I'd much rather do my best to help my fortune instead! As they say, the more one work at something, the luckier one becomes :D

Thank you very much! :)

Thank you very much for that, I figured there must be reasons for the bizarre shapes - luckily for us, the result is also extremely inspiring, photographically speaking :)

Thank you very much indeed! :)

Not being an engineer, I am not sure how effective the bizarre shape of St Monans' pier is to break waves, but I assume it works. What I am sure of, on the other hand, is that photographically speaking the pier is a truly inspiring work of concrete! 2 seconds, Hasselblad X1D II, Hasselblad 30mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters.

Loch Lomond is a beautiful loch, and I love to stop there on my way from Glasgow to Glencoe & the Isle of Skye, when I have a chance. Here two sunsets on the Loch, taken two years apart. First, a 2020 image, 3/5 of a second taken with my Hasselblad X1D II, Hasselblad XCD 21mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters:

Followed by a older image, this time a 1/5 second photograph taken with my (then) Leica SL, Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters:

When I am working on the landscape, if the weather and the scene allows I love to experiment with different focal lengths, looking for compositions inside a composition. This is Reynisfjara, in Iceland, at sunrise on a stormy day:

4 seconds, Hasselblad X1D II, Hasselblad XCD 30mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters.

11 seconds, Hasselblad X1D II, Hasselblad XCD 135mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters.
