ebay fee's will come out to at least $20 for the body. I am willing to absorb some but not off of that.

If someone is interested in the whole lot I will make them a nice deal and then put it up on ebay for the 8%. I really enjoy this site and I would love to put together a killer deal for a forum member. If someone is interested I will put the whole lot up on ebay for $1,200 shipped. That would net a return of nearly $100.

I am about to get some sleep so if I don't answer PM's right away that is the reason.

I see what your doing there! I will look into the fees and whatnot and adjust the price so I do not short change myself. I am going to have to do this tomorrow night though since I have no pics to post. Let me know if anyone else is interested in the method of saving 8% and I will put the items up on ebay.

The time has come for me to face the facts that I am never home long enough
to use my recently purchased k20d and lenses.

When I say rarely used I mean it, I have less than 500 shots through it.
Its been in a padded case with dissectant packs since it was new. No wear or scratches.

Body come with original boxes and papers and all accessories. It also comes with 2 extra batteries and an 8GB HCSD card.

Asking $560

Lenses- all have had Hoya UV filters on since new. All lenses were purchased new so they only have
less than 150 shots per. All come with original boxes.

FA 50mm f/1.4- $245

DA 50-200mm f/4-5.6- $180

DA 16-45mm f/4- $260

Buy everything for $1,200 and I will pay for shipping.

I prefer to ship only within the continental U.S.

I also prefer paypal but will accept a money order

My shipping zip is 60714 if you want to check shipping rates

everything is also available for pickup if your in the Chicagoland area.

I am currently out of town so I do not have any pictures but I will be home tomorrow night so I will post
pictures of everything then.

Mine is pirated. I can justify it by saying that I only use it for recreational use. If I was a pro I would buy it.

That has happened to me too many times.

The worst flub I have ever seen was not done by me. When I was in high school I worked at the local ice skating rink. Right as I was walking up to start my shift I noticed several fire trucks and ambulances. Turns out a Zamboni hit the rink door and it jumped off the hinges and hit some kid. The police evidence tech spent an hour taking pics of the scene. Once he was done we cleaned up the area and then he realized he had no film in the camera.

once you tried turning it on it probably is dead. If you or anyone ever finds themselves with wet electronics like a camera or cell phone the best bet is to open every available compartment and put it in a bag of uncooked rice for a few days. The rice will absorb all of the moisture. It may or may not work but it offers the best chance of it drying it out.

Filters on Great Lenses

Would there be a noticeable issue with lesser uv filters? I run inexpensive Hoya filters on all my lenses, though none would be classified as high end lenses.

Being different defines who I am, from my orange Mustang to my K20d. I get plenty of negative comments on both. Its the few positive ones that makes it all worthwhile.

Looks like a lot of people are upgrading now that the price has started to fall some.
Mine is currently sitting in its shipping box waiting for me to get home from a business trip. At least it has 3 new lenses keeping it company.

I am starting to wonder if the k20d is being traded like gold. It seems like the price ebbs and flows on a daily basis. Maybe Pentax is trying to deplete inventory and looked to a large chain to get it done.

When are they going to start lowering the price of lenses?

Lens quandary

Well the quandary is no more. I saw a 16-45mm for $297 on ebay and I decided it was time to stop overthinking it. With shipping it was $312 and with the 8% back from it will end up costing $288.

Now I am good from 16mm up to 200mm. I think that should hold me over for awhile. My next purchase is going to be a nice pelican case so I can take all my gear with me on the road.

Thanks for all the tips.

The 16-50 is out of my price range. I just did not want to pay for the 16-45 if it was only negligibly better than the kit lens.

I am starting to lean towards the 16-45 and will make a decision soon.

Thanks for the info guys.

OK I was about to pull the trigger on the DA 16-45mm but I got to thinking about something.

I do not have the kit lens but I did have one with my k100d. I was not particularly impressed by it. The reviews I have read say that it is a nicer replacement for the kit lens but its not nearly as sharp at the 16-50.

I am in position to drop $700+ at the moment. Spending $350 on the 16-45mm makes more sense from a financial prospective but is it that much better than the kit lens that I could pick up for $50 used?

I mentioned picking up a telephoto on my last post but that would be a toy. I almost need to have something in the wider range since I do a decent amount of indoor shooting and I would like to get some nice wide outdoor shooting in.

AHHHHHH!!!! I'm driving myself CRAZY!

If someone could confirm that the 16-45 is a considerably better piece of glass than the 18-55mm kit lens I would really appreciate it.

Lens quandary

I am going out of town today and when I get back all my new gear should be here to greet me.

I have a feeling that after I play around for a week or three I will have to pull the trigger on something wider than the trusty 50mm f/1.4. I will do some more research while I am holed up in the hotel for the next week. I am not one to buy and sell lenses so I want to make a good decision the first time.

I also am starting to think of something in the 300mm range. The first two lenses I came across is the PENTAX smc DA* 300mm F4 and the Sigma APO 100-300mm F4 EX DG.

The sigma is slightly more money but it does offer a zoom which could make life easier.

Does anyone have any input on lenses in this focal/price range?

When I was younger I would buy all my video game systems refurbished. I always figured that whatever issue it might have had is fixed and I also operate on the assumption that everything else was given the once over. So by that logic it might be better off than a new on the shelf cam.

Anyone use Lightroom or CS4 on one of those Atom Laptops?

I have two acer asipre one netbooks. Once is the 8.9" and the other is 10.1.
Both have the regular hard drives, not the sold state. Both have the same Atom chip and both have 1gb of ram (the 8.9 has a max of 1.5 and the 10.1 can do 2gb).

I tried cs3 on the 10.1 and it completely crippled the machine. I actually had to pull the battery out. I run cs2 on my 3 year old Toshiba laptop and it works fine.

If I ever got more serious about my photography I would certainly build a desktop and use a larger hi-res screen that would do the work justice.

In short, don't do it!
