Astrotracer Precise Calibration Fails - GPS LED goes out K1-II

Although I don't have the K1-2 the K1 the GPS light remains illuminated throughout the calibration process.
The only suggestion I have is when you enable the calibration, can you try pushing the GPS button to turn it off, and then press it again to re-enable it. Now when you do the calibration does the issue persist?

Geoff

If you get the chance you really must, its one of those locations that lives up to the hype regardless of the weather or the conditions.

Ha! Thank you. They were pretty cheap, no more than 10 from a hardware store :) -- If they are imbued with magical photo taking o& weather creating properties I couldn't say, but they do seem to being worn when I take my post popular images ;)

The Golden Leaf
Three months without a car and an injured back, finally back on my feet and with the ability to get places proper, so decided it was a good opportunity to get up the local woods and see about getting some the autumn colour photographed. I have tried a few times in the past couple of weeks but failed miserably.

So I'm pleased I finally managed to photograph the stunning Autumn Colour in my local Wood.
Join me as I look for the beautiful and characterful trees within the woodland and discover leaf details that are a wash of golden autumn colours of all shades and hues. Main lenses used along side the K-1 were the SMS Pentax-DA* 60-250mm F4.0 ED and the SMC Pentax-D FA Macro 100mm F2.8 WR

I hope you enjoy the Golden Leaf and the additional images in the supporting video below

Thank you, its one of my favourites from the weeks adventure too. I have an image or too to post from Elgol itself where the conditions were out of this world.

Thank you. I know someone who might know, so will try asking them to see if they can give any further info, from speaking about it with them previously I think it was an old crofting lodge abandoned in the 19th century, but don't hold me to that, i suspect I'll be mistaken hehehe :)

Thank you, the conditions were changing every 15 min or so, ranging from sunshine, showers, snow, hail wind, clam was like that for the 4 days I was on Skye. Was quite an experience and left an impression with me.
Problem now is, being at home and the familiarity of local, its hard to find motivation..

---------- Post added 10-21-20 at 06:35 AM ----------

Ha! anyone else probably would have, however I was more weather proof than my Pentax gear so carried on shooting for several more hours. I'll try to remember to post an image taken later that afternoon/evening
In fact here you go...

So, I managed to get out twice into the woods this weekend hoping to capture some autumnal images with the trees changing colours and perhaps do a [link=https://youtu.be/RLUcrYlGKnk]small video[/link] about the image taking process and what nots.

Well, the thing is if you have been out of practise for a while it soon becomes apparent when you try to pick up where you left off. I spent most of the weekend stumbling around in my wellies, slipping in the mud, and not really remembering how to use my camera!

So unfortunately I haven't really got anything to show for my efforts, so back to the archives for an image taken on the [link=https://youtu.be/Hd0wX9IGPvM]Isle of Skye[/link] on the road to Elgol

With the advent of Autumn here in the UK and a wet damp week ahead, I think I might have a 2nd go at photographing mushrooms and toadstools in the local woodland. This is from my last attempt. Hope you all enjoy.

Thank you Kerry, was just really nice to try something a little different. It was a challenge not to slip into my normal processing methods and tastes, but I think I have managed to succeed in this style of photography and image processing.

Thank you Toddk - yeah the flowers and surrounding plant life is in full colour and its quite over powering, so muting the colours back a little allows the subject to breath against the sea of greens yellows and whites.

This months video I photograph some Wild Flowers located in the margins around my local parkland only a minute away from my home. There I produced a series of detailed yet simple flower photos of the wild flowers taken with my Pentax K1 and 100mm Macro lens, processed to a, soft and ethereal feel.

I have to admit, it was nice not to have driven countless miles in the dead of night to capture some interesting and compelling images. But rather, using a spare hour on an overcast Saturday afternoon, a short walk out the front door and over into the local park provided some much needed fresh air and freedom for my creativity to spark.

I hope you enjoy the images produced and it inspires you to think and visit local, look for the smaller everyday details in your local landscapes, parks and communities and you might be very surprised at what you can find to shoot.
