I haven't done shot of the week in ages, It's nice to be back. Here are some shots I took at a protest for Gaza in Ottawa a few days back.

Nice, that's what I like to see, another Pentax with some character... not that there's anything wrong with a pretty scratch free one. For my strap I ended up using the stock one and colouring over the logo with a black marker and cutting the little red tag off. I've always wanted to try one of those black rapid ones but I've never gotten around to it. I'd worry about the resale value of my K-7 but I never plan on selling it anyways, It'll likely work until it doesn't work.

That was my one worry with the knock offs, I managed to get snowed on twice today when out shooting.

I've been meaning to get a battery grip for the longest time... Hopefully by the new year I'll have one on a new to me K-5.

My K-7 is pretty worn in at this point and I've added my fair share of minor customizations. The other day I got to wondering if or what other Pentax users set ups look like after being worn it.

I shoot mainly photojournalism so I've pretty much set my camera up for speed and stealth. I have a DA* 16-50 and 50-135 both with the focus switch taped to auto and lens hood filter doors taped in place. I actually lost the door to the 16-50 hood before I could tape in it place so i just taped a piece of a rubber hood over the hole. I got rid of the lens caps long ago and just use a UV filter all the time. I also taped over the gold rings at the front and the gold Pentax logos. Speaking of taping over logos, every white marking on the K-7 body has been taped over with the exception of the selection dials and a few select important buttons. In my head it gives me a lower profile and also stops me from getting in arguments with gear heads about Canon and Nikon. I've also tapped down the built in flash to stop it from popping up by accident. I put a strip of tape near the bottom of the LCD too just because i always seem to scuff it there. My K-7 does have it's fair share of battle wounds, most of which are on the back and bottom.

So what does your set up look like? Also sorry if I put this in the wrong place, I wasn't sure since it deals with Pentax lenses and bodies.

My iPod touch camera is pretty terrible.

I was shooting the Ottawa zombie walk and I saw two photogs shooting Pentax. One guy actually came up to me first and made a comment about how I was shooting Pentax. We had a quick conversation on how rare we are. The other guy was dressed as Rick from The Walking Dead and had a Pentax in one hand and a revolver in the other.

Brought up the exposure, messed around with the colour balance, then a touch of cropping and noise reduction. Slapped on a little vignette and lens correction too.

1-"If your photos aren't good enough you aren't close enough." Robert Capa was right.
2-Shoot in manual, forget green mode. You won't learn a thing about exposure shooting green.
3-Shoot with prime lenses and forget those big heavy zoom. Use your feet.

Was one of those early foggy night where the fog ended right below the street lights. I had my K1000 on as per usual so I grab a few shots.

It does appear to be outside the frame, Guess I should get light seal replaced. The back door is a bit wobbly now that I think of it. Thanks for the help.

The frames affected seem to be fairly random but the location of the leak on the photo is always the same across multiple rolls. I did get my development tank used so maybe I should look into a new one. I've been meaning to get a proper changing bag for a while now too. Thanks for the help.

I'm pretty new to shooting film and I was wondering if someone could help me solve a problem I've been having with my K1000. I've been noticing this funny streak appearing on some of my photos over the past few weeks. I sort of thought it was lens flare, a development flaw on my part or a problem with the camera or something but, frankly I have no idea. I did some goggling around but, couldn't really find anything because I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for. It's got me beat, was hoping someone who know what they're doing could help me out. If you have any other tips about shooting film, I'd appreciate hearing them as well.

I'm not too interested in buying a K-01 as is but, I think I would be a tad more inclined if it were a rangefinder.

Cool shots again this week people! I managed to stumble upon a protest for Congo on Thursday outside the US embassy and just happened to have my K-7 in my bag and my K1000 around my neck.

I did that on my first roll by accident after about 4 shots. This time around I managed to save the roll.
