Thank you, SpecialK and smf.
Flickr sharpens downsized pictures a bit too much sometimes.

@todd
Thank you.
As for the calibration - I couldn't avoid it. Lens was completely unable to properly catch focus in closer distance. I had to set overall +18 value in AF microadjust.

Pictures I've made two days ago. I went with high contrast during the processing.
I would like to hear your thoughts about those two - composition, processing and every other matter you feel like discussing.
I recommend to see those at full resolution due to oversharpening at smaller sizes - click on image to see it on Flickr. Trasa Zamkowa 01 by weakhead, on Flickr Trasa Zamkowa 02 by weakhead, on Flickr

I like this lens so far. It's sharp and tolerant to near-direct sunlight. However, I had to calibrate it's AF to +18 (+10 for single and +8 for all lenses), but I can live with that. Lack of quick-shift and focus distance scale hurts me more, though. Odra by weakhead, on Flickr

Snow was falling today in quite large amount. In such moment, I'm glad that I have WR zoom.

I like it - it's so simple, minimalistic.
I would even the line, however.

Thank you all for critique.
I think you all are right about second and third shots - I should have composed it better. Not sure about cropping tall tree (have to try it), but capturing more reflection would work fine here. As for those ducks - they're ALWAYS there... I will need wider lens for this one - due to the environment, moving backwards won't work.

Szczecin is in dense for recently. I've decided to take some photos after a long break from photography.
ISO speed of first one is 80, rest is 200.
Larger size is available - just click in photo and you'll be redirected to Google+.

Even optically, they aren't the same. It is said, that the newer the model, the better optical performance it has in general - not counting poor copies. Also, number of aperture blades vary - early versions had 8, later had 6 (MC ones and newer), and one (or more?) of the early versions even had 13 aperture blades.
Mechanical construction also changed many times.

Indeed, it's incredibly smooth compared to many 50's.
And now some more Helios 44 magic.

DougLee - those are nice! simbon4o - now I'm impressed. Does this lens always give such creamy bokeh? Helios 44 is rather... busy, compared to this.

kcobain1992 - thanks. I've used split-tone filter for first one, so shadows have blue tint and are less "dark". The rest had those details in natural way, but I've done some operations on curves to pump up the contrast a bit.

It's pretty hard to get some nice bokeh with Industar 50, isn't it?

Yes, I've used lens hood for images in my last two comments. This lens is very prone to flare and severe contrast loss when shooting against strong light, especially wide open.

ISO 80, first and third wide open, second could be F4 (not sure). I've attached lens hood.
