For posting from flickr, you can choose from different options from the share page. I usually use the pp code. You can choose the size too from there :)

Pentax K1 or Canon R5

I’d wait a while and be ready of what this new aps-c is going to offer. Meanwhile you can get lenses that you prefer. A lot of great stuff seems to be on it’s way for Pentax system.

What Pentax seems to have on their list for the future is just that experience of real photography.

Some(most) have said that K-1 II does give that extra bit for AF to work more reliably. I’v been tempted to update my K-1, but I can manage with it. I’m hoping to see big improvement in K-1 as it seems to be coming for aps-c flagship. So unless you are in big hurry and money is burning a hole in your pocket, just wait.

R5 seems to be amazing machine, and even it has it’s hickups. But I’d say that if it does not give to you that ’mojo’ why to get it then? Or then try it with RF lenses, but if that computer stuff in your camera does not get you going then that might not do much for you. After all, biggest selling point for R5 is it’s Tecnical wonders packed in one hybrid body. And if you are not drawn to video, which is why it is a hybrid camera, then there is even less reasons to get it.

Hope this helped you!

Yes, that is actually what I did mean. If one has these OEM lenses, but if you don't. And it does work best with RF, as it does for SoNiksonik too to be fair...atleast this is what they say in these videos made for the brand...video guys have their stuff for sure.

I would believe that this -using it past the limits- usage does imply that this is what people would like to have. Especially when all that you see is that high quality video at there. Where it should just be used carefully, and you get that, not just all of that and stick to the rules. This goes for everything out there from stoneages. Don’t do that or you going to break it.

As it seems, it can give you great result, just use Ninja with it at alltimes, when shooting high quality video. Heat is not good for camera and or media, it does lower the quality and reliability. I f one just has a brief look of dataransfer speeds with those Cards, it is easy to figure out, it’ll overheat.

Next thing is that incerdible ibis, which is combination of ES and sensor stabilisation. It is great, but it does give you that little wobble which is normal because of ES(some Walkin examples does prove this). It is great, do you really need to go that far? Please consider of using proper shoulder kit or gimbal.

Great camera R5. Expensive, and even more so with all thegear you neidot make it work(nothing new) and then to get those lenses on top of that...

Unless they first did a nice video, and then had their machine on for too long. It could be just a short try first, then 5 Minutes video -8 K ofcourse- and . . . Cooling . . . Still cooling . . . (AF is no use when camera is off, you can’t even look through VF, because it is black too.

Edit: You do know, I’m not 100% serious...being more serious. I have interest of high quality hybrid, just for my video needs. I have BMPCC4K. I have lived with it’s restrictions, and while all is fine, I can use just battery, no external. And as you know it has short life. Usually I have to fix things, like you know...all that does chew battery. But it can be solved with fresh battery at your pocket. But I can feelthe heat. If, I’d choose out of these new ones. It would be A7SIII or a bit order S1H, latter, because it has fan(genious, right).

To me this would be not so good. It does remind me of the times when I did drive motocross(even if this is just a bridge from one subject to an other). Great fun, driving. Having to change a lot of parts, clean up after, because driving those things are really powerful and eat up parts quick, more so if you really drive I like you stole it.. hours of fun, sometimes even days of waiting for parts(I was hobbyist and did not have access of lot of things to begin with). This reminds me of that. You get great performance from this, but you have to have a cooler with you, attached to the camera(rig) or a bigger one, and/or second body. But when one is a professional, you should have enough dough...perhaps that part of 1600mbs transfer rate does also heat things up too? More file, more images captured, more heat -> more sweat. While pentaxians are waiting for their buffer to clear, these guys are having cool aid ;)

When I was touring at North America, there were numerous F150 trucks sitting by the high way, broken down. I believe it is so cheap that it is better just to buy a new one. F150 must be one of most wanted trucks. I’v seen even couple of them or F250 at Finland. Vety expensive to drive at here.

At here they drive Hiace or Mitsubishi L200, diesel trucks.

If I do recall correctly, Pentax/Ricoh want to offer anyone, who is interested of modern APS-C DSLR with OVF, the best experience and joy of photography.

If any of mirrorless models offers that, then it should be compared if necessary. For other things, it is just silly.

I do also find those improvements from K-3 to K-1. Don't have K-1II, but according to what I'v seen it should be.

About those PLM lenses, I do find it interesting that there is coming 16-50(and 50-135) PLM * lens. this is new era. I coud believe that there is more of that coming in few nex year. From what everyone has seen on this forum, they(Ricoh) have gone through of lenses they have now and are thinking of updates. Either something likne HD FA or HD DA with screwdrive or with new elements and PLM. For me even screwdrive is okay. SDM is too slow. DFA is on the other hand quite fast. I do believe that there can be more juices taken from DFA lenses still. It must be optimised/restricted somehow, probably because of making life of that motor longer. So, I believe that with these new motors and cameras restriction is not 'just' how fast it -can- be.

I can understand that. But what and how icoh is doing something is hardly going to be faster, just because competition is this and that. They have had a lot to catch up, and they are doing things how they think is good.

And Why I quoted also you, is that I agree completelly. In one way they are in the same lake, where race is happening, but they are not racing for the sake of racing. They are in it with their own pace.

One of the things(which they have now corrected in latest mirrorless bodies) has also been that it is very fast, but could focus at the wrong subject, like person, at the football field, ect. So. finding, locking, and keeping the target is not so easy to compare brand to brand. Pentax latest bodys does actually have very fast AF-S. And for some, it is all that they need, and they are using button to focus, when needed like so many other brand shooters has been used to. So user skills do help too. We will see ho this is going to be in very near future, with Pentaxians...

The thing is that Pentax AF has -just improved- over the yrs. They have put their engineering to other places, like shutter, durability, functions, WR, SR ... making their gear great for outdoors and on top of that there must have been quite straight budget under Previous owner. AF has been perfectly usable, and that is it. That is how it has been. A lot has happened from K-7 to K-3. Including Ricoh taking over. And they did fine job. On top of that they really have put things on the table and wanted to get their gear updated. Now, this does not happen over the night.

What I find hard to understand is why people don’t see this? Hoping for fast news from K-new to put end of this thing. Still, it will not be 1000 AF focus points. It is the new beginning regardless. This is product that has actually been developed under Ricoh. And they really have put a lot of effort and time to it, as the old AF system was in the place where it could not be developed further, this should be and who knows, this could be scaled to work with FF and 645 so that AF points are not just cramped to middle.

Maybe it is because of that, and even if they would offer that possibility, there might still be just a few of pentaxians interested, because rest of them do like their mirror boxes and then they wont buy it, any of it.

Well, my friend is not so keen on using money he dont have to. And yes, it is that mk 2. Perhaps when his not -that- old 5DIV get old, and is not giving him what he needs. I can easily believe that this is the case for many. Especially at the times we are living right now.

Great to have the hype still. Id wait for the next big thing too to be honest. Especially because of what is going on..

Funny, my friend who has a lot of recent as well as some older canon, like En osaa sanoa 5D IV and also crop 7II said that he has -zero- interest of buying any of these new ones from canon. He is enthusiast in bird shooting and has also 100-400 zoom and many other fine lenses. Not so sure if that many will actually go there just like that. Understandable to go with some Ed lenses, hard to see the point with adapter which does not really work that well. Suppose that many things works quite well with EF lenses if one has proper canon made adapter. But that class leading stabilisation will be that good only with RF lenses. As well as focusing at it’s max speed.

Sure, the ones who are going to go with that system will propably go there Bit by bit, or more if their pockets are deep enough.

Image sync app seems to have update.. and it will probably improve even further..I just tried it again with my iPhone7 and K-1. Just a little lag. Transferring a DNG even works, it just takes about one minute. So JPG should be better. And with iPhone it has 2.1.1 vers. Even ‘green’button works and I can adjust everything. Tapping the screen does give you similar AF as it give to you in LV(as it is LV). Ofcourse MF works too. So what is the problem..?

Making it thinner was one thing, making the VF more further from back of the camera is for ergonomics they said they are working hard to make perfect. Smaller size is advantage for aps-c user. That is what they say..

There should be separate thread for complaining and mourning about lack of my favourite thing(flippy screen in this case) in this camera. And why it does not work for me, and there fore for you. -thread at the forums. One for each item and highlighted one for new models, which will come in couple months out. And get all that sorted..

Have you tried it with your K-1. Tethering with phone? That works. File transfer is not so fluent, but it should be good in future. Iv used my phone and my iPad with my K-1 for tethered shots. It could be better, but it actually does work. Good thing is that it even work from quite far away( Iv used it for selfie too, with camera on tripod and me at scenery.)

When one want high performing FF mirrorless, and lenses to go with it, it is going to cost some. There are also aps-c cameras at entry price and with less everything. It is ridiculous to compare these, but still many do so. Still many buys a7II and get adapter. If even so or they will use what they have and continue this debate, new models come and go.

Really looking forward of the specs and how it will actually fare. Some how many pentaxians have took and are still taking incredible photos and I do suspect it is going to be more easy from now on. Maybe even too easy. We will see.

With aps-c and size/performance ratio and comfort and joy of photographing at high quality, seems to be what they are going for now. Let us see what happens.

Full day at the conference does not sound like you would be able to do with any hybrid or DSLR. Have you considered BMPCC4K? You can use Pentax lenses for that too(not KAF4, but older, yes)

It is quite likely that there will be 4K in this new camera, as there is also 4K with latest GR. but it is always a compromise.
