Definately sounds like a good score Ronald. And yes as you've figured out, the LX behaviour you mentioned was likely just a dead battery.

Ah right, thanks for the explanation. I was surprised to see new 620 film apparently being sold.

I was there in June 2018, and took the following photo from about as close as I could get.
Focal length equivalent to 28mm on full frame. Even with such a wide angle I thought it was a good view of the stones.

You may want to stock up asap. Kodak have announced a price rise effective 1 January 2020, and Freestyle have said that it will be a 15-30% increase on the retail prices. :(

Another MX fan here!
Recently got mine serviced and the camera tech had a high opinion on their general reliability.
Keep in mind that no camera is perfect so the MX does have its cons. Not many though ;)

I agree, I've been looking forward to these pinhole photos.

Thanks Steve for your generous comment. :o
You've helped to give me encouragement to go out again - despite hot temperatures and harsh lighting.
On a different note - how good are these cheap Kodak colour films for street shooting? Normally I stick with the 'pro' stuff however have really enjoyed Colorplus and Gold 200 recently. The "Christmas?" photo was taken in very contrasty and harsh lighting in the middle of the day in summer. Will have to buy some more before the price rise...

This was a nice thread to resurrect.
I find it hard to judge which photo or photos are my best. With that said, I'd probably put this one on my book.

I took this back in 2012 with some expired APX100. I had never really shot expired film before and tried it out on some sand dunes. Developed with Tmax developer and ended up with some pretty extreme grain and uneven contrast - but for me it really worked.

Yes they are still desirable and some people still use them. I use mine regularly.
If you're not going to use those 3 LXs then it would probably be worth your while to sell them. They usually go for a lot more than your average K mount manual focus SLR.

This was my favourite 67 lens. (Unfortunately I no longer own the 67 camera or any lenses)
In my case I had intended to purchase the later model 55/4 lens however the "middle child" one was sent to me instead. I tried it out and decided to keep it, as I was very happy with the optical qualities.

For me since mid-2018 it's almost exclusively film and manual cameras. I'm going backwards

I find my photography is often better without the instant review  counter intuitive I know, though I'm sure I'm not the only one...

As others have mentioned, this was true about 15 years ago however things have changed since then. In my time shooting film - about 10 years now - I've seen some products go, other new ones emerge, some reduction in retail film labs yet expansion in specialised ones, and from my perspective more interest in shooting colour negative film. Amongst other things. So it seems to be changing shape rather than dieing.

Personally I disagree with this and find film better for my purposes.

Me too!

Favorite film for low light photos with Pentax manual SLRs?

I haven't really shot a lot of low light stuff however recently found that I really like Portra 800 and Kodak P3200. Have also experimented with pushing Tri-X and HP5 to 1600 and the results can be pretty nice too. In my limited experience I would consider 'proper' high speed film to be superior to pushed 400 though. Of course, exposure and processing are important.

Unfortunately the only examples I have for Portra 800 and Kodak P3200 are family photos so I'm not keen to share online really.
Here is one example of HP5 pushed to 1600 in Ilfosol-3. If you follow the link to Flickr you can see it at full size.
