Oh wow! 30th not bad, keep it up. Why not cook her her favourite meal, flowers from the garden and a romantic picnic in the garden with candles a plenty. Then take some night shots instead.. My hubby and I will be going onto 44yrs come December 10th.

We were right next to Kapama and yes pups photo taken at the Cheetah project, good friends of ours. When we sold to Kapama our lodge was turned into 'Southern camp'. A beautiful 5*+ lodge in the Kapama reserve. They have other wonderful lodges within the reserve and their sightings are awesome, some of the best you'll get to see. The family have another lodge called Jabulani where the elephant experience is a real treat. Of course I miss my home very much but there are amazing reserves in Zululand which helps. However, Hongonyi will always be my home and be in my heart!

I miss her so much....................I do get the odd photo from her new family but its a farm so she's just one of many. My guilt is huge 'cos she was very happy here, except for hubby who had to clean the pool and edging daily. I want her back but hubby will leave..................no don't say it! :)

She came from nowhere, stayed a couple of weeks, loved to dive and swim in the pool, won my heart over completely. Has a new home on a farm, mated had chicks and the farm Rooster is now sitting on the eggs! No, she doesn't have a swimming pool so yes, I do feel guilty!

Wow! aslyfox, you sure do get around. I would love to go to the Selous Game Reserve in southern Tanzania and so many other parts to see the wildlife.

They got pretty used to me riding around on my quad bike and seemed to realize I wasn't a threat, so close ups were quite regular. Many a spoilt photo sitting atop a vibrating machine.......neccessary for a quick getaway in case the Rhino or Buffalo came around the corner. Oh I so miss those experiences!

Thanks sailor, all ways nice to photograph these animals. One of our managers brought her horse when she got the job and it broke out of the pen one day and seemed to meet up with a particular Zebra who used to be around the horse area a lot. Had to move the horse to another reserve just in case.

Thank you for your compliment ToddK, however, I'd be lying if I told you, it being such awhile back. He was rather large is what I remember...

A lot of the wild are pretty relaxed as long as they don't feel threatened or cornered, however one never takes chances in the bush. An old friend recently was mauled to death by lion cubs he had raised to adults in full view of his wife. A terrible tragedy!

Thanks Larrymc. They are amazing pack animals but really not to my liking. Of all the animals in the bush these were the most verbal when coming through the reserve and I prayed very hard they would keep on moving!

HI Charlie Victor. Thanks for the compliment. I agree with you totally. Not my cup of tea.

Oh wow! aslyfox. Interesting.....not a job I would like. it was bad enough with the emotions on the reserve.

These awesome creatures can hiss like a angry snake and snarl like an dog when threatened. It's the largest African lizard and forages alongside rivers, lakes and pans, can lay 20 to 60 eggs usually in a termite nest.

Wild dogs live in closely bonded family groups yet only one pair will breed. Litters are usually 12 pups and cared for by all pack members. Unfortunately they don't kill prey before the eat.....

Hi MikeNArk. It does look like despair or just the guys mustache....I prefer the latter. Although our village has been hit with some unfortunate problems this month. No water for a few days, when it did come back on it was contaminated, but eventually sorted. No electricity, but that's almost the norm at present in our country.

Out and about after many months, taking in areas of in our village I've not seen for sometime. This shunting station is pretty derelict yet interesting enough to stroll around and find those shots I've been craving for. If one looks closely there is a face made up of a few clouds.

Thanks K2..........appreciate your comment. I have so many more photo's but of a time in my life when I was the happiest, saddest, and most emotional when living so close to nature. It's a tough life though the most incredible, awesome and inspiring. One feels there's a purpose to life that you don't feel in a city! My opinion only...
