Perfect Photo Suite 8 system requirements

Thank you for your answer. I did contacted OnOne presales support just to make sure their software is compatible with
MacMini's video card, but the answer:

"It would depend on how much RAM and what processor you have for your Mac MINI. You will need a minimum of 8GBs of RAM."

As you see, nothing really clear.

Gracias.

Perfect Photo Suite 8 system requirements

Hi all,

I currently use Lightroom together with Perfect Photo Suite 8 and PS CS6 on a late 2009 21,5" iMac, but my system is now going slowly, so I'm thinking about switching to a Mac Mini due to the highly priced 2013 iMacs, and because new iMacs are not "user friendly" to expand memory (except the 27" model).

I'd like to know if someone has similar software on a Mac Mini, to share impressions about it. Specially because the MacMini has an integrated graphic card, and I don't know if this would be powerful enough. For example, Perfect Photo Suite recommends 1Gb dedicated video RAM, and OpenGl 4.0

Thank you.

Hi jogiba, thank you for your comment.

You can use a heavy lens with adapter for sure: one hand in camera and the other under the lens.
But, what if I need to use a really low shutter speed and low ISO?

It's just that I'd like to have the "tools" to get camera and lens on a tripod.

Hi all,

I have recently bought a second hand NEX6 and then,
a few days ago, a lens turbo adapter to use all my Pentax lenses.

I have tried some manual lenses and work fine, but I'd like to know if
someone has tried to adapt some kind of tripod collar such as the
Novovlex

I know this might be something weird  but some old lenses weight a lot, and I don't want to use the
to use the camera's tripod screw, just in case I need a tripod....

I know some "standard" , adpters (without internal lens) have a tripod mount and specially the Novoflex NEX/PENT, the most expensive one has that tripod collar.

Thanks,

Jose.

OK, that's right, but I'd like to have the opportunity to choose, so in case I can't afford one I can get the other, or on the contrary,
have a specific lens like Sigma's 120-300 f2.8. It's just to have a wider catalogue.

That's what I was thinking when I wrote the post. I know people who are moving to other brands because those manufacturers do not offer the same lenses for K than for EF or Nikon mounts, and lenses that are developed by others but with Pentax brand are more expensive, much more expensive indeed.
E.g. Tamron 18-270 = $649, Pentax 18-270 = $799, (B&H prices). That's a 23% more expensive for Pentax. So yes, I'm a bit concerned.

I agree with questions I read about flash system improvement, tethering , and new image processor.

And talking abot lenses:

3rd party lens manufacturers are stop developing (or less developing) for K mount. Would you consider this a risk?

are there any alliances between 3d party and Pentax? (e.g. Tamron 18-270 vs Pentax 18-270)?

Aputure TrigMaster compatibility as wireless shutter release

Hi all,

I'm looking for a flash trigger that can be also used as a wireless shutter release.
After doing some searches on eBay, I've found the Aputure Trigmaster.
But there are 3 versions:

1) TrigMaster MX1C,
2) TrigMaster II MX1C,
3) TrirgMaster Plus TX1C.

I know the Trigmaster Plus is fully compatible with K5 ( Aputure Limited - Aputure TrigMaster Versatile Trigger for Strobe Speedlight and Camera ),
but I'd like to know if TrigMaster II (that seems to be an impovement of Trigmaster) is also compatible with K5.
According to Aputure it is not (Aputure Limited - Aputure TrigMaster Versatile Trigger for Strobe Speedlight and Camera) but
some web , sell as compatible.

so, has anyone tested the TrigMaster II as shutter release? I'd like this one beacuse it is quite cheaper than "plus" one.

Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear that, I think then the DIY solution would be the best.
I wish I could try the plates for other brands to see if any of them fits.

Hi,

I've been looking for a L plate for my K5. After searching the forum,
I've seen some possibilities such as a dedicated L plate from Kirk,
or a the universal ones . I've also seen those from Mestos .

And also the DIY approach from Russel-Evans.

Well my question: I know K7/K5 are not the same size as K10/K20, but, I wonder if
the dedicated Mestos L plate with grip for K10/K20 would suit on a K7/K5 with grip.
Has anyone tried?

This is the link to the Mestos dedicated L plate.

Any kind of experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Snow is tricky to shot.
I don't like that darkness, perhaps because
this recalls me somehow a "terror" atmosphere

Thanks all for your comments :).

Hamilton: I don't kow what kind of squirrel is, but the lens is this FA* 300mm f4.5

Rupert: I just was lucky... they are so restless..

JeffJS: You're right, I agree, just didn't think about that. On the other hand, I'm not very skilfull with postprocessing tools: that's something I also have to improve.

Manel Brand: Yes, I'll try to keep in mind next time.

Thanks for your comments, Ash.
You are right: the first one was taken at 1/30th sec. handheld,
this is not very much recommended, that's why I switched
to ISO 1600 to freeze and avoid blur, but then I got
overexposed background.
