Wow, thanks everyone for your suggestions. I'm gathering shutter priority wasn't a very common thing with Pentax. I suppose aperture priority isn't too much of an issue, as I also shoot a Canon A1 and often on AP to capture my toddler zooming around and don't have time to adjust for changing light so it's not a completely foreign mode to me. But unlike the A1, Pentax works on stop down metering, correct? I'm also gathering Canon really had a very good feel for convenience. I'm sure Pentax cameras are fine pieces of equipment but Canon seems to be a bit more convenient, especially for the average shooter

I started my photography shooting Canon DSLR. Along the way I branched out to film and naturally picked up an AE-1 secondhand. Recently I graduated to medium format and bought myself a Pentax 6x7 which I love. Thatís when I discovered the fantastic Asahi glass. I want to get a Pentax SLR to add to my collection so I can start dabbling more with Asahi glass but I have no idea where to start in finding a camera body. Iíve done some research online and itís all a bit confusing trying to figure out where each camera stands. It may be a silly question so please donít crucify me for asking, but is there a Pentax 35mm camera that is just like the AE-1 in terms of ease of use and features? The K1000 was recommended but someone told me the light meter is always working until you place the lens cap on but I donít want to bother with putting the cap on and taking it off just to save the battery. Any other suggestions? Thanks

Really? That would be great. I have an SMC Pentax 6x7 90mm f/2.8 and an SMC Pentax 6x7 55mm f/4

Hi, I've been shooting a 6x7 since this past winter and having a lot of fun with it. I have a question though. Does anyone know where I can get a hold of optical layouts/diagrams for 6x7 lenses, either on this site or someplace else? I looked in lens reviews and lens search but couldn't find anything that gave me a lens construction diagram. Thanks
