New info on my cousin: She's twice tested NEGATIVE, a week apart, and is being moved to the "recovering" section of her assisted living facility. Our family grows 'em tough.

Or was it a false positive to start with? All 15 others in her "positive" wing, where she had been moved, tested NEGATIVE in the 2 rounds of testing. Suspicious - gives me such a warm feeling about the testing.

Wow!! Another flippy storm. I'm still waiting for the fat lady to sing. When the final form is guaranteed. The camera shown has NO flippy screen. :D:D

Just debunking the idea that there IS a flippy screen, as some are still hoping for. As my hope was FOR a flippy screen, and I see that there is NONE, I'm just showing that a preference does not automatically induce grasping at the straws of hope.

So, to be clear, I'm NOT pushing for a fantasy that this camera has a flippy screen. You are over-reacting to my analysis that I find that there is NO FLIPPY SCREEN on this camera, even though I would prefer that there was one. I support your position against those who are still grasping at those straws.

Clear? :):)

I checked out the video at full screen. My interpretation of the image is that I'm seeing a reflection of the protruding viewfinder in the LCD, which at this very low angle is quite mirror-like. So I do NOT see a notch for pulling out a flippy screen. :(:(:(:(:(:(

Just to state my flippy screen requirements again, I think that the K-new SHOULD have a flippy screen, as I find them quite useful for low shots, shots from in crowds, and astro. At 70+, I find that flippy screens make camera usage, for MY needs, far more pleasant, and I don't have to pass up shots that would otherwise put me in awkward positions that are painful for me to get into and out of.

So, if the K-new does not have a flippy screen, and no other truly compelling features over my KP, I would probably get it if I were going on an African safari, along with a DFA 150-450. Otherwise, the KP would continue as my APS-C camera for X amount of time. Until conditions change. :):)

Yep, a mite light on important details on the camera. Oh well, my KP is not quaking in its boots at this time, certainly.

Liking the DFA 21 limited - hope it's better than f4, though.

A cousin of mine in assisted living. She's 94 (I'm 20+ years younger, although she is a true cousin), and has no symptoms yet (tested 2 days ago), but still not a good situation. Her daughter has been keeping us updated, and is very worried. Me too.

Adapter for Pentax Lens on T2 astro camera
Posted By TedH42

I have such an older adapter for my ZWO astro camera. It is made up of an adapter for Pentax K lens to Canon EF camera adapter, plus a ZWO-made adapter (a variable length adapter no longer available) for Canon EF lens to T2 camera mount.

There is a new ZWO Canon adapter (Canon EF lens mounts on T2 astro camera) which can be used for your application:

New EOS-T2 Adapter suitable for all ASI cameras | ZWO ASI

This one is not adjustable, but is the correct length for your astro camera, which has a "Flange focal length" of 17.5mm. ZWO names this measurement as "back focus distance", and this adapter is specified for the correct 17.5mm. There should be several astro EU sources (or get direct from ZWO) for this adapter - there are several in the US.

Then, just get a Pentax K lens to Canon EF camera adapter (from camera supply stores, and only an additional 1.46mm thick to get the Pentax K lens registration distance to be correct) to mount on the ZWO adapter, and you're done.

One would think that it would be obvious that common valved masks are DUST masks that protect ONLY the wearer from inhaling DUST.:mad:

I tried to get one, just one, from construction supply places all around - they had already been stripped clean in early February, and haven't had ANY since then.
Makes it rather unpleasant sanding walls extensively repaired with joint compound. Fogged glasses and goggles from makeshift masks.

Wow! Folding@home has grown considerably since I joined not long ago. It is now at 2.4 ExaFLOPS, according to Tom's Hardware:

Folding@Home Now Has Dedicated Coronavirus Research Option | Tom's Hardware

Folding for COVID-19 research can now be explicitly selected, rather than being contained within the "ANY" selection.

Been running folding@home for a couple of weeks using spare cycles on my image processing machine (loaded 2018 Mac mini).

Didn't know that there was a PentaxForums team, though. I've been with Tom's Hardware, even though I don't game. (You don't have to join a team.)

This is a good cause, certainly, and you can join the world's largest supercomputer (highly distributed, of course), currently at about 1.5 ExaFLOPS/sec.

SDM question

However, the camera must be turned ON to focus the PLM at all. The trick of leaving your camera off while you wander, seeing a possible shot, and just bringing the camera up to your eye to check composition and framing, does NOT work. While bringing the camera up to your eye, the additional action of turning it on must be done. Just something additional to learn, but once learnt, works quite well.

It's a personal preference as to when to turn the camera off again. :)

Mostly Explorer, lurching to Sportsman, but always a Hunter/Gatherer (but not much monochrome) when traveling. Astrophotography seems covered by Explorer, with prodigious amounts of post.

But I'd really like to be Jerry Uelsmann.

So how about Eclectic instead?

A nice soft rendition. Her hair color makes an excellent frame for her head and shoulder. With her quiet look to the side, she is trusting the tree and the rest of her environment. She is home.

Thanks.

Rich, soft colors set the mood. A great image to have fun with. Thanks.

Good title for the 90 deg twist image. But the genius is in that twist, which transforms it into the warlock's claws. Cleverly done. I would have had a normal icicle shot instead. Thanks for the twist. (Is it getting late around here?)
