I'm not sure how any VAT would be added - I wouldn't charge it and I don't think it would be done by Paypal. Feel free to PM me and we might be able to sort something out.

Item for Sale
D-BG7 battery grip for KP

Asking Price
200.00 AUD

Item Location
Perth (Australia)

Item Description
I bought this in April primarily to improve the vertical handling of my KP but I have small hands so it wasn't as helpful as I had hoped. I've used it a handful of times and there are no wear marks on it anywhere. It's about as close to "like new" as it's possible to get. It includes the extra battery tray and the large hand grip for the KP body.

Australian buyers should still be covered by the warranty from CRK and I'll include the invoice in case it's needed for any claims.

It comes with the box and all the paperwork but no batteries. I'll cover postage within Australia and will charge a flat $AUD 20 for shipping by standard airmail elsewhere. Australian buyers can pay by Paypal or direct deposit, anywhere else Paypal only.

$AUD 200

Please send me a PM if interested.

Question I can't upload photo's I've previously used in a new ad in the Marketplace

I'm trying to submit a new ad for an item I had listed before but the ad was marked as sold. I want to relist one of the items and I copied the photo's from the original ad into a folder on my laptop. But when I tried to upload them to the new ad I got a message saying that the pictures had been used before and it wouldn't load them. I renamed the photo's and tried again but got the same message.

How can I use the photo's in my new ad please - surely I don't have to take new photo's? Thanks

Item Description
D-BG7 Battery Grip for Pentax KP

I bought this in April primarily to improve the vertical handling of my KP but I have small hands so it wasn't as helpful as I had hoped. I used it a handful of times and there are no wear marks on it anywhere.

$AUD 260 plus postage

Lomography Daguerrotype lens SOLD

I bought this as part of the original Kickstarter programme. Lenses don't get any more manual than this - the aperture is set by inserting the appropriate aperture plate in the slot, exposure needs to be metered manually or by using the green button and focusing is done manually of course.

There are a few small blemish marks that I found when I was looking at the photo's but I didn't notice them before and they don't have any effect on the photos. I've used it very sparingly since I've owned it but it's time to move it on to a new home.

It comes in a beautiful presentation box and includes all three sets of aperture plates, a filter and a couple of booklets with examples of what can be achieved plus other bits and pieces.

$AUD 350 plus postage

Shipping for both items will be at cost. Tracking to be included for both the buyer and sellers peace of mind. Insurance is optional but uninsured items are sent at the buyers risk.

Australian buyers can pay via Paypal or direct deposit, Paypal only for anywhere else.

As a bonus for buying both items I'll include a Ruggedwear Domke F10 shoulder bag in the deal. If you want the bag on it's own it'll be $AUD 60. I removed the velcro to make it less noisy but other than that it's in original and great condition.

Please PM me if interested in either item or for a postage quote.

The battery grip does come with the large body grip in the box. Wish I'd known you were buying - I'm going to sell the one I bought a couple of months ago.

Well there you go, I should have held off buying that Crumpler Proper Roady bag for a couple of days. I got my KP with one of these deals a few months ago - for $850 body only it was too good to pass up.

I'd go for it if I were you - these deals seem to be less frequent than they used to be. I haven't seen a 20% DCXpert sale for quite a while and I remember they used to come along fairly regularly and the 15% ones at Pentax don't come along very often either.

I would have thought that B&H would be the one place where you could be certain of finding some film gear at least - is that not the case?

I had a couple of K5's that I really liked and would still have if I hadn't bought a KP, but in the end I couldn't justify having 4 camera bodies (no matter which way I tried to justify it!!). I think the K5 series are still a great camera even though it's quite old by DSLR standards.

In the middle of an Aussie summer where it's 38 or more degrees C outside, I'd be very confident that the temperature in a locked car could easily hit 70 C during the day . I wouldn't even contemplate leaving photographic or electronic gear in the car under those conditions.

I use Backblaze which costs about $8 a month. What I like about it is that it just backs up in the background, even if your computer isn't switched on. The initial backup takes a long time but once that's done it just does its thing without you needing to attend to it.

Questions for D-BG7 owners

I have the grip and keep it mounted to the KP full time, mainly for portrait mode handling (I'm still undecided about how much benefit it is for me from that perspective). I use the D-LI109 batteries simply because that's what I have.

With hindsight, (if this a "is it worth getting the battery grip" type question), then I'd say, for me personally, I most likely wouldn't have bought it. Handling in portrait mode is better but that doesn't overcome the significant weight penalty and the fact that it makes the KP a much bigger object to handle, which kind of negates one of the KP's great features. I use it mainly because I'm a "I've bought it so I may as well use it" sort of person.

My last Amigo (the 43mm Limited) arrived today. It looks pristine and after a few hurried shots in the garden just to make sure it all worked as it should I think I can see why the trio enjoy their stellar reputation.

That's it - I'm all done for lenses...........

Found a very nice copy of the 43 in Sydney on Ebay at a very attractive price with a "Make An Offer" option. Even the BIN price was a good deal but after "convincing" myself over the last few days that I didn't have a need for it I put in a slightly cheeky offer that the seller accepted. Ebay also had a small discount promo code so that covered the postage costs. Scored an almost brand new 43 for roughly half price of new.

So I'm done - I've got my Three Amigo's as my K30 kit. Nothing else I want.

I've got my second member of the Three Amigo's. There was a 77mm on Ebay and the seller lives about 5km away. He was accepting offers so I put one in and (a little surprisingly) he accepted. I used an Ebay promo code for another 10% off and it arrived today. It looks close to mint condition for about half the cost of a new one. I've done a few quick test shots and I can see why it has such a stellar reputation!!

It will keep my 31mm company but I can't see a real need for the 43........although I'm sure there are people on here will try to convince me otherwise :)

I bought a tripod head from B & H a couple of months ago and didn't get slugged for GST. There was certainly no separate charge for it so if GST was charged then it was included in the price before i put it in my cart. Maybe it depends on whether the ATO have made contact with the vendor to set things up for charging GST.

It gets charged on Ebay
