#1 is great, but composition leaves much to be desired.
#13 is also excellent, and very exciting, but I think it could have been processed better - it's a bit dark.

Having kicked those out, among all these really quite great photos my favorites FWIW are #7, #8 (despite the presence of a watermark), #14 and #15.

I shoot street. Sometimes it's easier, less visible and intrusive to shoot from the hip than with the camera in front of your eye. Use a wide angle lens - I like a 28mm on an APS-C camera like my K-3 (or even wider - this shot is at 10mm), let ISO float, and set aperture priority to a fairly good depth of field. Furthermore, separate focus from the shutter control; the K-3 lets you assign focus to a back button. This makes it easy to focus quickly, or constantly be focusing, then shoot when necessary. A strap for the camera that goes around your right wrist enables you to hold it low so it's less visible to your subjects.

I have not bought a new Pentax lens because I can get used ones, primarily manual, for far less with great image quality. Still, I would love to be able to afford a couple of the new Pentax lenses but these ridiculous prices are simply too high! So I am in!

Love that shot, chrish!

While I didn't really take this shot for the bokeh, it's not bad. Plus it shows the sheer awesomeness of the wonderfully inexpensive DA-L 55-300mm lens. Now, this is two bubbles; it is a sort of technical "tour de force" by the hippie bubble blower: the bottom one is filled with smoke (you may speculate on the smoke's origin) while the top one is not.

Here are a couple from the Tamron SP 90mm 1:2.5 Adaptall-2 (52B) lens, top shot at f8, bottom shot wide open (the P/KA adapter says f2.4; it's f2.5...). It's a macro lens; these aren't macro shots...:D. On the top rose shot you can see a slight purple discoloration in the center of the photo - that's the dreaded sensor reflection, a known problem with this lens on a DSLR! I'll write a review of this lens eventually...that reflection is the only real issue with it.

I just acquired an old Tamron SP 90mm 1:2.5 Adaptall-2 lens (52B), popped some extension tubes on it, and took it out back with a tripod to see just how well it lived up to its reputation as a sharp macro lens. This is a >1:1 macro of a partially depopulated dandelion. I'd say it's pretty darned good! I need to do a few more experiments with it (I'm expecting to get the matching F01 doubler soon) and I'll post a review of it.

One issue is that the 90mm length is not available on the K-r! So I set it to the closest value, which is 85mm...ugh. That's the K-r's problem though, not the lens'!

Both shots taken on 6/23, World Pentax Day.

Top one caught with a Tokina 28-70mm 1:2.8-4.3 lens at very close range...I was literally walking past him as he was setting up to take this shot of some tourists who appear to have stopped him to ask him to take their picture.

The other is a woman with a Pentax K10D at Dolores Park in San Francisco; I told her that it was World Pentax Day and she looked at me like I was speaking Yiddish. She went back to taking pictures so I took a shot of her.

So I just read through this whole thread and not once did anyone mention front focus. Was that fixed in this update (not that I've ever noticed that problem with my K-r...)? It was an interminable topic a year ago...

Wow. I just learned that I would like to play with a tool like this (with my K-r) and here it is. Just installed it last night and did a quick toying around - very cool and seems quite useful in the right hands (which may or may not be mine).
