I have a Mamiya C330 that I use. I can do multiples with it just by manually cocking the shutter release in its "multi" mode. But there are times that I'd like to be able to do it with my 35mm. especially since thats the camera I take with me the most. Love my C330, but its a tank to carry around.

The manual says to "keep ahold of the rewind knob, depress the film rewind release button. And cock the rapid-wind lever..." I have done this. the frame counter still advances. Ive taken a photo, used the rewind knob to tighten the film, held the rewind knob, held the film rewind release button, cocked the rapid-wind lever and the film counter STILL advances.. I've been trying with a roll of film for the past couple of days. I'm now on frame 20. And I fear I have wasted a full canister of film on trying to figure this out. Any help???

I'm going to ask a stupid question here... I have had a photographer tell me that he uses the Asahi Lenses on his Pentax K1000. And that the Asahi lenses are the best K mount lenses to use. I have three different K mount lenses. I have one of them with me, with is the 50mm f/2. It does not say Asahi on it, it says SMC Pentax-A. I know that Asahi and Pentax are interchangeable when it comes to the K1000. Some models say "Asahi" and others don't. My K1000 does not have the Asahai name on it anywhere. So I'm trying to understand, did Asahi produce all of the Pentax SMC lenses, or are they different?

Didn't know where else to post this. I have a Pentax SMC-A 50mm 1.2 k mount lens for my K1000. According to he lens review for this lens, it shows that a 52mm filter will fit. I have a 52mm red b&w schre in filter. but its a tad bit to big, to the point that the thread sits just outside of the threads on my lens. Trying to find the right size of screw in filters for my lens. Anyone have this lens and can give me some info on what filters to snag for it? I'm wanting a nd filter, and a b&w filter for contrast.

Yeah, I'm not sure about the size thing, if it will be something i care about or not. My K1000 is tiny compared to my 5D DSLR. I did come across a K2 DMD.... Would this be another option to an LX or Super A?

From what I'm gathering, the Super A would be an upgrade from the K1000. And that at a price point, it would be the option before an LX? Of course I'd love an LX.... And I could see getting one, the live exposure is what REALLY makes me want it over the Super A. From what you wrote here it sounds like the Super A was an excellent choice, other than the TTL flash. Which honestly, I never use a flash. Unless I'm doing wedding receptions with my DSLR. I don't even have a flash for my K1000.... Then again, I've never tried the flash that I have with my K1000.

That's my fear... I'm worried that I just want some new camera to play with. The K1000 works, its just missing a feature I'd like to have... Which I found in the ME Super... then SOMEONE had to go mention the Super A.... And then there's the LX... which seems to be the Pentax of all Pentax 35mm film camera's

Even though I'm leaning more towards the LX ( I know my wife would kill me if she found out how much it was). The Super A black is what I would go for. Hell, I may still go that route and see how I feel about the LX after the first of the year. Not like I couldn't sell the Super A on ebay....

Thats whats the most attractive about it. The live exposure metering. I shoot weddings, mainly with a DSLR, but I'd love to be able to use a film camera for them that I don't have to think about settings so much. Being able to catch some moments on film would be great! My K1000 is hard to do that with. The LX is looking more and more the way that I want to go. I am alittle hesitant about purchasing from Japan. Mainly for the shipping charge. I'm just finding really the lowest pirces for the body alone are in Japan.

I'm honestly having a REALLY hard time with figuring out which one to go with. The Super A is closer to my price range right now. The LX is alitte out there. I have found some at REALLY good prices on Ebay, all from Japan. But I'm worried about maintenance in the long run. Don't want to drop that much money only to have to pay the price of the camera or more for repairs.. The LX is gorgeous, and I like the fact that it changes exposure with light in real time. I've been wanting to do more long exposure night photography stuff, and this camera sounds like it does it all. Plus, I'm really looking for some automatic features. I enjoy shooting manual with my K1000 and my DSLR. But there are times I wish I was able to just set it to Aperture Priority and just focus on composition and having fun shooting. The Super A looks like a wonderful camera, but I know the LX surpasses it by a long run...

I wanted to make sure with what I'm reading that my lenses from my K1000 would work with either a Super A, MX, or LX. I have a SMC Pentax-A 1.2 50mm, SMC Pentax-M 3.5 135mm, and a SMC Pentax-M 1.2 28mm. Will these work? I found a really good deal on an LX, that I may just purchase soon.

The Super A in Japan is around 70 bucks, no lens. The Super Program turns out to be something different. Some of them say super program, or program plus... If I'm going to spend 70 plus on a body with shipping. Might as well get the one that actually says "Super A"

---------- Post added 08-16-18 at 05:46 PM ----------

And after looking at the Super A, it has a weird digital back added to it. Not sure why...

I'm starting to question if I should just hold off and wait until after the holidays to start saving for a LX. I'm just ready to move on from my K1000 already...

So, the Super A/Program A. When searching on ebay for Program A i'm finding Program Plus. Is this the same?

I will keep all of this in mind for next year! I have a teen and a pre-teen. After our honeymoon trip this October with the wife. I plan on purchasing a van for the family to travel around in and camp. So I'm sure I'll be posting about heading to Nebraska and Topeka real soon.

I just found a couple of these, I may just go with a Super Program for now. I'm not completely ready to spend a few hundred dollars on a new body just yet. I figure having a camera with aperture priority for a bit will be fine for now.
