In the micro focus section there are a few numbers to choose from does it matter ? Mine has 0 1 2 or 3 . I picked 0 . Once I make the adjustments its only going to effect the lens thats on there and not all the lens right ? What are the numbers 0 to 3 for ?

On my K110d It used both regular battery's or cr-v3 what are most people using for rechargeable battery's in their cameras ? Once you make the adjustment how do you get out of debug mode ? I can't view a photo once I made a adjustment . If adjust and try to take a photo when I press half way down wait hs is on the screen and the photo is white .Okay edit here for some reason the shutter speed changed . I can take a photo in the debug mode and make adjustments and see the photo it just over laps the words and photo for a few seconds .I you just do the steps over to get out of debug mode by choosing dis . I'm so stupid I didn't scroll all the way down on the instruction above . It worked great . Its so much better now . Thanks Group . I remember now doing this with the k10d but I think I installed a program from a sd card . This was back in 2006 . IMGP4903 by myridevlx600, on Flickr IMGP4908 by myridevlx600, on Flickr

I have noticed a sharpness difference in the k-3 when using a tripod and timer with the shake reduction being off vs on . I think they are sharper when its off .

Thanks for that info . I played around with the MF/ AF switch and I guess it wasn't used very much . I switched it back and forth a bunch of times and it started working as it should and I can now see it changing in the view finder from MF to AF and back again . I'll try some filters to see if can get rid of that pinkish color I'm seeing . I may have let to much light get into the sensor . I took a few with the correct exposure according to the camera It was really pink in the same area so I keep making it darker with the aperture setting trying to no see it .

Thanks everyone . This was harder than I thought . I wanted to get photos without editing except for cropping so what you see is no adjustments at all in lighting sharpness color adjustment ,none of that they are straight out of the camera . I put the image tone setting in the camera to the one with a little color going around it, I left the cameras settings saturation, sharpness and contrast in the middle, if there are better in camera setting let me know. I noticed a slight pinkish color on some of the rose peddles and I just couldn't find a setting as far as aperture and shutter speed that would get rid of that color I had the iso on 200 . . If anyone know how to get rid of that let me know . I just go the camera and waited till the rain stopped and went out and too the photos . I don't know if you can zoom in on the photos or not but if you can It is really sharp zoomed way in . I was surprised at the sharpness the 6 mp captured . It took me a while to figure out the iso settings but I think on mine it stops at 200 . I couldn't find a lower setting . I mainly shoot manual or TAv mode but this one doesn't have that mode I guess I got a little spoiled . I was playing around with the camera in manual mode and even with the cameras AF / MF set in MF it was still trying to focus . I can't figure out what setting to use to stop it from trying to focus . I thought once the camera was set in the MF switch setting it would stop trying to focus . It took me a while but I finely figures out that if the camera is set to MF before you turn on the camera it won't try to focus and you can switch from MF to AF while the camera is still it will auto focus but if you switch it from AF to MF while the camera is still on it won't stop the auto focus from trying to focus ,but if you turn the camera off and switch it to MF and turn it back on it stops the auto focus and the MF works as it should . That was very annoying . Is that the way it is on all k110D's ? If you have one try it and let me know . Switch it to AF and turn the camera on then press the shutter button half way to let it focus then switch it to MF and take it out of focus and see if the auto focus is trying to focus . If it does let me know so I know its just not my camera . Its no big deal now that I know what to do I'm just wondering if its just my camera or all k110d's . All the photos in this club are so good Its hard to believe they are taken with a 6mp camera . It really shows for every day use and your not going to blow a print up to the size of a wall a 6 mp is all you need to get great photos .

Just received my $ 11.00 K110D with kit lens from Goodwill . I had to wait till the rain stopped . I saw a post on Pentaxians United on facebook about a six-mp club so I took a few quick photos . They are straight out of the camera with no editing except for cropping . The flowers are with the Pentax D-FA 100mm f2.8 and the Grand baby blanket was with the sigma 18-35 f1.8 IMGP4818 by myridevlx600, on Flickr . IMGP4811 by myridevlx600, on Flickr. AstroDave Thank you for doing that . I see now cropping even when you're close it still makes a difference .I thought it only made a difference when the objects were far away .
yOchang That must have been where I got the idea if you cropped bigger things didn't change in sharpness .
bdery Yes everyone here is great and very helpful . I have a lot to learn . I have got to figure out pixel sizes numbers and what they mean . I think that will help me a lot .

Thanks a lot Taks . I can really see the differences . I guess it really does make a difference . I think I'm just going to have to get the 50-135 The photo you took look great And the city distance is probably what I'll be doing . .I hope it wasn't to much trouble . All the numbers I got from others really didn't help. I have to see things . I was just trying to use the 18-35 as a single take along lens but I can see now its okay but just not like the 135mm . Is the 50-135 mm good for close ups of baby faces ? I didn't want to use a flash . Do you have any photos of faces close up . Not crazy close up just like a full face view ? I was trying to just take one lens back and forth and if the 50-135 is good for indoor photos I would just take it .

BrianR I don't know what I did the first time to make then the same size . I'm going to do it again and export them again . I must have had the image size checked with a size . This last time to get the 1026x670 and 6016x4000 numbers I unchecks the image size and got the 1026x670 and 6016x4000 numbers and a big difference in the mb sizes .I'll delete the 2 photos I have there now and replace them with the new numbers and see what it looks like of flickr . I haven't figured out what export setting to use yet . If I post a photo on facebook I will make the image sizing 8x8 or 10x10 because it fills up the space on facebook . I don't know what I'm doing or why yet . Here are the new sizes https://flic.kr/p/2hE4c4t https://flic.kr/p/2hE4c3w one should be 1026x670 and the other 6016x4000 If its not I don't know why . I didn't resize anything . will you look at both and tell me if I did it right . I noticed on the 35mm one it doesn't enlarge it as much as the 200mm photo .

taktoon. I'm not understanding whats going on when I crop . The 2 photos of the house look like the same size to me on flickr . if the numbers are different would't the sizes of the photos be different on flickr ? Did I do something wrong to make them the same size on flickr going by 1026x670 and 6016x4000 ?

I don't know why you would say its only for cell phone after cropping This is the photo of the 35mm after I cropped it to the same fov as the 200mm . I can see a difference but its not that big of a difference . I was standing in the same place with the camera on a tripod and all I did was change the lens . I took the photo into lightroom and cropped it so it looked the same length and width of the 200mm photo . That's all I did. I didn't change any of the settings on the right side of lightroom I just cropped it . Are you saying if I printed both off of flikr to a 4x6 print that I would see a big difference in the two ? . _IMG6181 | myridevlx600 | Flickr

Okay I found my 2 dng files of the house I put a link to I was comparing. and open them in lightroom . The 35mm was 26.1 mb and 25.9 with the 200mm . After I cropped the 35 to the same fov as the 200 mm photo I saved it as a jpeg and it came out to be 833kb and 1026x670 , and the 200mm came out to be 16.4 mb and 6016x4000 . So I see now what you all are talking about . One thing I don't understand is the 1026x670 and 6016x4000 numbers . Why aren't the numbers the same since I'm seeing the same fov after cropping the photo . Are the numbers a length and width size or the amount of pixels in the photo ? I really need to watch a good video that explains this .Does anyone know of a good video to watch or a good link to read ?

Okay I'm trying to follow along as best I can with all the numbers but I'm not at that level yet , I want to be and I'm going to look into what you all are talking about . Are you all saying you won't take a few photos for me to compare ? I was not wanting to compare to a 200mm lens just up to the 135mm and now the 85mm from the 16-85mm . I think I'm getting why cropping is not so good now . I didn't realize I was losing mp's . I thought the part I keep was not changing and the reason it was less mp once cropped was because I was getting rid of a lot of the photo and the mp's were in that part I cut out . I really didn't know what I was thinking I just always cut it and made it big enough to see what I wanted to see. For smaller things like birds at a distance I would use my 70-200 2.8 but for things bigger and farther away like buildings or landscape or barns I would just use my 18-35 and crop how I wanted because every time I tried to use the 70-200 I would never get all I wanted in the photo and found myself backing up way farther away than I wanted to . My nephew's run cross country so I use the 18-35 for that and I would just crop to include what I wanted I tried the 70-200 for that also and when they came by they were just to close and I would only get half their body in the frame . I guess I just like the 18-35 because I get more than I need and just cut out what I don't want . I didn't know I was hurting the photo by cropping it . I cropped this one a lot but to me it still looks okay to me . I got his whole body (he is the smaller one ) With the 70-200 I would have just got his upper half . I probably used the wrong f stop This was my first time using the 18-35 . so I really didn't know what to set it at . I think I just picked f3.5 and 2000 and let the camera pick the iso . I like the TAv mode for action shots so far . I have sense been told to go to f 6 to help with getting things in focus for moving objects . _IMG3075 | myridevlx600 | Flickr

How does the 50-135 2.8 compare in weight and size to the sigma 70-200 2.8 . The sigma to me is just to heavy to take for traveling by air . If the 50-135 is lighter and smaller I'll just get it and take both .

Kozlok will you take a photo with the 18-35 at 35mm and the sharpest f stop and then take the same photo with the 16-85 at 85 mm with the f stop at 2.8 . them crop the 35 mm photo so you see the same thing as you do with the 85mm . And post it here so I can see the difference in the two .

---------- Post added 11-01-19 at 07:21 AM ----------

I know the 200mm photo is better than the cropped 35mm to the same size fov as the 200mm and I can see it when I zoom in on flikr and lightroom but not zooming in it looks pretty close . I was just hoping to get 2 photos from you professionals that know what your doing to let me see what the difference is between a 18-35mm lens at 35mm cropped to the same fov as the pentax 50-135 at 135mm . or even the 85mmm from the 16-85 mm lens .

Serkevan Are you saying if you take a photo that's 24 mp on a 35mm lens and if you crop it to 85mm size it makes it 5.6 mp ? How does that work can you give me a link so I can read about it ? Does cropping make the photo less sharp ? Is 5.6 mp still good enough for say a anything less than a 8x10 . I never print anything bigger than a 8x10 .

Do you think the 18-35 is a really big travel lens ? Its smaller than the 50-135 I think . On my k3 its really 27- 52.5 . My daughter just had our first Grand baby . We live in KY and both my daughters live in Seattle Washington . They have some pretty good places to take photos out there But I would say I'm leaning more on using the lens on the baby the 18-35 might work better . I think with the 1.8 I won't need a flash and I can get pretty close with the 18-35 . the 50 on the 50-135 is really 75 so I;m not sure if that's going to let me get a full baby in frame unless I get way back . I just don't know . I do have the pentax 50 mm 1.8 that I can stick on the carry on camera bag along with the 18-35 . I have been looking at a lot of photos from the 50-135 2.8 and they just look so good but don't know if its that big a difference in the photos of things at longer distances . I just wanted to see the difference in the 2 lens from someone that knew what they are doing to see if they could make the 35 cropped to 135 to get close to the 135 mm . I'm not going to pixel peep on far away buildings or mountains . Do you know how the 50-135 works on close up baby faces or full body baby length Its a new born so he is still small .

Sandy I have a sigma 70-200 2.8 and I did a comparison with it at 200 mm f4 on both and it looked pretty close . I'm going to take a few more like this . I should have keep the 200mm at 2.8 and I think the 35mm might be sharper closed down another stop . I'm trying to see if I would be happy with the 18-35 for a single travel lens or not . https://flic.kr/p/2hE4c4t https://flic.kr/p/2hE4c3w

Hi I'm looking for someone that has a k3 and the pentax 50-135 2.8 and a sigma 18-35 1.8 that would help me do a little comparison . Before I go out and buy the 50-135 I wanted to see the difference in the 2 lens once the sigma is cropped from a 35mm to the same size as the 135 mm . I would like for the pentax to stay at 2.8 at 135mm and the sigma at 35mm with a few different f stops starting at 1.8 and stop down to what ever you think looks the sharpest for the sigma . If possible a outside shot of a brick building or house from about 50 yards away and maybe one of a landscape from where ever you live . I just want to see if you have to pixel peep to see a difference in the photos with the 35 mm cropped to the length and width that you get from the 135 mm zoom and see what f stop I would need on the 35 mm compared to the f2.8 setting on the 135 . If you have both lens but not a k3 I'll take the comparison on any pentax camera . Thanks for your help .

I watched the biggest dog in the neighborhood come up to this squirrel and it didn't move a inch . The dog put its nose a little to close and Hulk gave it a swat .The dog turned tail and ran off . This is the way it walked on the ground . I have never seen Hulk use its front paws to get around . It would just put one foot in front of the other and took its time moving around .
