Dave Coffin has a parse.c program that might be useful, but I don't know if it tries to parse everything or only already known exif and ciff data.

[Solved] Process K-3 HDR DNG on Linux (and other OS) with dcraw

The output is three TIFF/PGM/PPM/PAM files, so not really a raw file, but at least you can get the full dynamic range as from raw.
The camera allows +/-3EV.

To get a useful output for the K3ii pixelshift raw, I think you will have to contact the developer and see if he would be willing to make the necessary changes.
Read the section "Does dcraw work with my camera?" on the dcraw page ;-)

K-3 does give the option to process/re-process in camera and I like that the raw data end up in one single file until I decide to unpack and process it in the desktop.

Until now there has been no Linux software capable of making use of the raw hdr files.

As I understand it (and the file size indicates that it is so), the raw data from all three exposures is kept in the raw file.

The developer of dcraw has been kind enough to include support for Pentax HDR DNG files (I have only tested with K-3 files so far) in the latest version.
It is now possible to get three, up to 16-bit, image files for further processing.

Check documentation for more about the options, but here is an example use:
dcraw -s all -4 -T K3IM5053.DNG
This will give the files K3IM5053_0.tiff K3IM5053_1.tiff K3IM5053_2.tiff with metadata copied from the DNG. It assumes that only ExposureTime differs, so that is the only metadata that is checked for differences between the exposures.

Source code and (easy) build instructions can be found on the page and windows builds can be found here.
In debian/ubuntu just run 'apt-get build-dep dcraw' before building and you should be all set.

I bet the 'black' area on the new knob is the IR remote receiver. It is in the same spot as on previous models.
Question is if it has any additional functions?
Looks quite different from the opposite quick dial in the top view, but if it had a turning function it should look more similar.
